But during all of it, they could never have predicted, I could never have predicted, that I'd find love. Find something worth facing death for every day.Book 1: V Games ===> 5 STARS
If the games had taught me anything, it was that killing was sometimes the easy option. As for this installment . . . I felt that there were some pacing problems with the plot lacking focus off and on throughout the story. That said, Varick and Selena are such beloved characters that I would have joined them on any meandering journey that they chose to undertake, especially when that journey included declarations of love and some downtime to enjoy themselves.
"I may need blood to live, but I need you to breathe, to feel . . . to love."But don't worry, there was plenty of action too. I mean, come on, was there ever a chance that Selena was going to let bygones be bygones? I think not.
I gritted my teeth hardly recognizing my own blood lust. I wanted to see the looks on the Helsings' faces when they realised they were going to die.Plus, Jameson continued to bring levity to this dark story, and I continued to love him for it.
I was owed an apology. And some groveling. And possibly some sort of expensive gift. And it had better be something good. An Xbox or a fifty-inch TV that I'd make him try to hang on my forty-inch wall.So while the plot seemed to lack direction at times, it all came together in the end. And YAY! Jameson's getting his own book! I can't wait!!
When the moon reigned, I could love her as she deserved to be loved. But unless the sun decided to let me walk in its burning light once more, I would only be able to kiss her half as often as often as I wished to. --Varick
