Piper Sullivan is one of those authors I’m constantly seeing but never seem to pick up. I’m unsure as to why that is, when a few books have interested me, yet such was the reality of the situation until I decided to give Daddy’s Christmas Date a read. Whilst it wasn’t quite all I had been hoping for, I will be reading more Piper Sullivan in the future.

Daddy’s Christmas Date, as a whole, was an enjoyable read. It is one of those stories you can complete in no time at all, the story unfolding very quickly. Whilst I did enjoy it, there were a couple of things that I wasn’t overjoyed about, meaning it didn’t quite deliver the story I had been hoping for. In truth, this book was more of a three-point-five star read and I opted to round down.

The first half of the story I really enjoyed. Things happen quickly, and we’re pulled into the story of both the characters. Both are interesting, both make for fun reading. The interaction between the two was wonderful, and I really enjoyed the way they worked off each other. Having enjoyed the first half of the book, I went on to be quite disappointed by the second half.

The second half of the book felt too quick for me. Tension appears and then is resolved far too quickly. It felt rushed, if I’m honest. I was expecting things to play out on some deep level, but things felt rather cliched. I don’t mind a cliché or two, if done well, but I wasn’t as invested in the second half of the story as I had hoped I would be. I watched things unfold, but it failed to have any kind of real effect on me.

In fact, my favourite thing about the second half of the book was Blake. I enjoyed him throughout the book, and in the second part I came to adore his character even more. I really do hope we get to see his story in the future – it’s certainly something I will pick up.

Overall, it was a fun quick read. It wasn’t quite all I had hoped for, but I’ll certainly be reading more Piper Sullivan in the future.

This is probably my favorite of the holiday books I've read so far. Dani and Ty are both done with dating, but have been given the gift of a dating site. The start talking and agree to meet up. They meet sooner than planned thanks to Ty's son, Bobby.

There wasn't insta-love in this book, which I liked, and it spanned a few months, which I also liked. What I didn't like was the second half of the book. Ty suddenly turned into an ass and it was all very rushed. The book only lasted until about 20% (which I figured it would), but I honestly would have liked more. I did like the epilogue, gave a nice closure.

Overall, a cute read.

Dani the doctor was unsuccessful on the man front purely because work came first and when she wasn't at work her aunt was setting her up on terrible dates which put her more off men, until Ty.

Ty had lost his wife and was raising his son alone, but he was gorgeous rich and so sexy but that was the problem, he attracted more gold diggers than long term prospects.

Bobby and Blake were secondary characters in this story but certainly didn't feel it, the way the author brought them into the scenes with Blake's cheeky younger brother attitude and teasing to Ty and with Bobby's boyish enthusiasm over cooking which is something he loved. Bobby was like most kids his age naive full of emotion uncertainly and love obviously, his connection with Dani was so instant and perfect it made me smile anyone who wins the heart of a child without trying is always worth pursuing.

Amelia was the sexually active grandma who set Dani up on the bad dates on purpose to make her realise that she needed someone in her life, make her crave the happy ending.

The only part of the story I felt a little disappointed at was how quickly Dani forgave Ty when he turned up at her door. I would have dragged it out and actually make him properly make up for the awful way he treated her and she just let him off seemed out of character for her feisty strong woman persona throughout the rest of the book.

Overall this story had a strong plot, turmoil, angst and upset and obviously lust and love and different types of love as well as the sex scenes were pretty well described.

Overall, this book was just OK for me. I had a few issues with it.
Ty and Dani, singles who have not had the best luck with the dating scene. Until they have profiles set up for them on a dating website. And voila! Instant connection.
I loved the characters.
Ty was first and foremost a great dad. His son was always first in any decisions he made.
Bobby, Ty’s seven year old son was absolutely adorable. You don’t see many seven year old little boys who love to bake.
Blake, Ty’s younger brother, was just a good guy. Loved his nephew and brother. He was there for Dani when no one else was. Stood up for her.
Dani was a strong confident woman. Happy being single, but open to a relationship if and when the right man happens along.
Dani’s aunt Amelia was a hoot. A real free spirit, with absolutely no filter between her brain and her mouth.
My issues.
The story felt rushed, choppy and unfinished. Some scenes just ended, and are picked up hours or days later, or not picked back up at all. More editing would have really helped.
I’m probably in the minority on this one, but, for me there was just way too much sex. (Especially for a 139 page story), I could have done with less sex scenes and more character development and background.
My biggest issue was about this seven year old child riding in the front seats of cars. It was never mentioned that he was ever using a booster. (In my state at least, children have to be in boosters in the back seat because of the airbags. There are age, height and weight requirements to stop using a booster). The way Bobby describes how Dani saved him in the car, I’m not even sure he was wearing a seatbelt.
Again my issue.
My other problem, and this has nothing to do with my review, just a pet peeve. I really dislike when the cover of a book does not match the story. Reading the blurb, you know the female character is the doctor, yet they photoshopped the male wearing the stethoscope. And Ty is supposed to be a blonde.
Overall not a bad story. Will I re-read it? Probably not. But if you are looking for a quick, easy, read with lots of sex this might just be the book for you.

I did not finished this and I don’t like leaved low stars / bad reviews, but... The cover is misleading as he is not the doctor but I ignored that as the blurb sounded interesting. The “c” word turned me off immediately and I struggled to read more. There wasn’t much in the way of “dating” before they jumped to sex and from that point on it seemed to lead to the next sexual interlude and that’s where I stopped. If this is your thing, then get it. If you want something better, save your time even if it’s free.

I really liked the heroine- she was funny independent and having been burned before — careful. I was loving the hero until ... the hero never visited her in the hospital. His excuse... he couldn’t handle seeing her hurt. Ok aren’t you a special kind of snowflake. She forgave that way to easily. Writing is good. And I’m still thinking about the book so it gets a 4 but I really still want that hero to get slapped.

Daddy's Christmas Date by Piper Sullivan
Great story
Dani is tired of dates that end up on horrible nights. She sees a dating site that promises to meet the man of her dreams in 6 months, not believing it she goes and tests it out. Ty is a single father, losing his wife was hard, now when his son wants a mom he doesn't know what to do. The dating scene isn't for him and doesn't want to deal with gold diggers, but coming up on Dani's page he likes talking to her. The meeting was unexpected but very much appreciated. These two go into a smooth transition of being together but none of them put a label on it. when things get too real he backs off but not without leaving Dani a little heartbroken. When things occur Ty is determined to show her who he loves and how he refuses to lose her.

This is a lovely story of Ty and Dani who have both given up dating. They are both given a subscription to an online dating service which matches them and even though they doubt it will work they give dating a chance. There’s is a complicated love story because Ty has a son. They do manage to work out their problems and get their happy ending.

I have my Amazon account and Goodreads linked. When I started the book Dating the Doctor by Piper Sullivan, this is the book added to my currently reading. It's the same book as Dating the Doctor. There's no note under either blurb, although this one is unavailable on Amazon as of March 22.

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! I had a real fun sexy time while reading this book. All the characters are well develop and you are just going to love Bobby!!! This book have the perfect balance between romance and sexy steamy scenes.

Dani is giving up the dating scene and just her last first date is proof that she made the best decision. But her aunt is not giving up, so suscribe Dani to a online dating page. To keep her aunt happy she decided to try it. Her match was FlyGuyTy and everything is going great, they set a date and she was ending her day at her office when this handsome little man arrive with a marble in his nose. Did I tell you she was a doctor? Well minutes later arrives his dad and if the kid is little and handsome, his dad is big and sexy. Then he says the worst pick up line in the world " do I know you". Argggg

Ty has given up on dating, all the women are just after his money. But his brother says his son wants a mommy and he bought him a suscription to a online dating page. In five minutes three matches and only one that he liked, Dani-Kong. She is great and they set up a date, but he saw her before it, she is the doctor that is pulling a marble from his kid nose.

They start dating and everything is great, but he is not sure if things are as great as he thinks. His son is getting too attached to Dani. He needs time to figure everything out and so he told her. Will his time will run out before he is ready?

This was a sexy romance about 2 people not looking for love but finding it & so much more. The dating world is tough when you’re a rich, extremely handsome man but it’s even tougher when you’re a beautiful, sexy smart woman. Talking online in a dating site that both Dani &Ty have been set up on by family members is one thing, but accidentally meeting because you son swallowed marbles & stuck 1 up his nose just before your first date is another. Upon realizing who Dr. Dani really is surprises Ty & leaves him interested even more than he was during their online conversations. Dani herself is taken aback by how perfect Ty is, but she’s waiting for the other shoe to drop. The relationship moved forward with the inclusion on Ty’s son Bobby who is a sweet & adorably smart. As well as the introduction to the meddling Amelia, Dani’s very eccentric aunt. Problems arise when Ty starts to back away after Dani lets something slip that proves to her or so she thinks, that Ty’s looking for a mother for his son not a wife or girlfriend. But Dani’s got a secret that’s going to change everything & she’s not the only one who knows now.
I voluntarily reviewed this book & definitely enjoyed it. It kept me wanting to read until the wee hours of the morning when I finally finished it. Recommend if you want a good read

I really enjoyed reading this book. It's well written and entertaining,
the story-line is well-paced and sometimes really hot and steaming.
I read through the book without a break up to the end.

The main characters are well-developed, with true feelings.
Dani and Ty have collected bad experiences in the matter of love
(Ty more than he could endure), therefore, they are careful and don't
want to do the dating thing.
But never say never, then both landed involuntarily on a dating site.

BTW you'll love Ty's little son, he's a real sweety with culinary skills
and is only Christmas wish is a mom for him.
Will Dani, who really loves his son Bobby, break Ty's defense? Just let
me say, the road is bumpy.
If it comes to a HEA, You have to find out by reading the book.

This is my first read from Piper Sullivan but definitely not my last.
I recommend not only this book on the warmest, but also the author.

So go ahead, grab a cup of coffee, grab this book and let it's magic
give You a relaxing reading time.

I usually love Piper Sullivan books. This one was written well and read through quickly. My biggest problem is how fast the heroine forgave the main male character. Piper does this is some other of her books too. The guy acts like a total jerk and is pretty unforgivable. Then he shows up, mows her lawn and tells her he loves her and all is forgiven?!? I get that she might want to start over or give him a second chance because she is pregnant, but come on. It's like she has no self worth. Why would he be there for her in the future after he left her in a hospital for 3 days and then didn't contact her for 10 more days while she was out of town. It was like the author wanted the high drama, which I enjoyed, and then was like how do I end this book as quick as possible. It ticked me off by the ending. Also, the timelines didn't match up. During the middle portion of the book there is multiple mentions about the amount of time passing and how they had been dating for a couple months and then a couple months more and then some more, but towards the end she was really early in her pregnancy and it stated they had only been seeing each other a couple months total.

This book has a lot more stories after the main story.
The main story was okay. I read the first two extra stories but found the same theme of idiot males as heroes treating the women badly and the women being weak and just rolling over and forgiving them when they say those three little words.
Not my taste in reading.

DADDY’S CHRISTMAS DATE.
Really enjoyed the story and characters but just found Ty a pain in the backside with his hot/cold treatment of Dani. He was also horrible when she was in hospital after the accident.
Dani I liked but when she just accepts him back I lost respect for her.
I would love to read Blake’s story and found Bobby a sweetheart.
A FAMILY BY CHRISTMAS.
I have read this somewhere before but cannot remember where.
I really hate manwhores as the hero. Paired with stupid women who have waited for them make for an aggravating read.
Didn’t read anymore after this one.
NANNY’S HALLOWEEN DOWN UNDER
Once again the hero treats the heroine like crap after having sex with her but it is all okay as soon as he tells her he loves her.

I know I say this every time I read one of Piper Sullivan’s books but I love them so much. Every time I see a new ARC from this author I cannot wait to read it and before I even open the cover I know I am going to love the book. Daddy’s Christmas Date was no different. From the very first sentence I fell in love with this book. I absolutely loved all the characters in this book. Ty was so hot and so nice too. Dani was such a down to earth woman who knew who she was. You throw in Blake, Ty’s brother, Bobby, Ty’s son and Amelia, Dani’s Aunt and you have such a fun book. I laughed, cried and even got angry but I totally love this book. I seriously hope the next book Piper writes is for Blake because I really think it would be an amazing book and besides that I think Ty really needs to get even with Blake for all the meddling he did in this one. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.

This a sweet love story about Ty and Dani who are forced into a dating site for 6 months to find someone. Dani has had no luck with men as she is smart and a pediatric doctor that most men feel threatened. Ty is a widower, single Dad, Ex pilot and very wealthy that causes more problems then you would think. They meet on the dating site and I just loved the flirting and banter between them. Then they meet of all places but in her office where she needs to remove a marble from his son’s nose! You will fall in love with the characters in this book, Blake, Bobby Aunt Amelia. Dani is a woman who is a nice down to earth person with a heart of gold and Ty is one strong and handsome man trying to move on from the lose of his wife. Will Ty ever see Dani as more than a date and can Dani ever forgive Ty for the way he has treated her? I hope to see a story for Blake! I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

This is such a sweet and well written story. I like the main characters Ty and Dani. They are both strong characters but do not have the best experience with the dating scene and relationships.
Both characters are well described and develops nicely through the story. The story flows well and is captivating from first to last chapter. I like the supporting characters. They give a lot to the story.
This story is written in dual POV, which I like because it gives the thoughts and feelings of both the main characters to the reader.
There are twists and turns that are unsuspected and emotional ups and downs. Hot chemistry and steaming scenes. The story has suspence, lust, love and a emotional roller coaster.
I am a fan of an epilogue in a story to round it of in a nice way.

I voluntarily received an Arc copy of this book for my honest review.
It all started with online dating and may end with love. This is a really sweet and sexy story about a widowed single father Ty whom lost his wife about three years ago. Now his brother has set him up on a dating website. Dani is a pediatrician she has had no luck in dating at all. Her aunt has set her up on some really bad dates. So Dani decides to sign up for a dating website where she is matched to Ty.

He almost seems to perfect. They get along great and have chemistry. Ty thinks he will never fall in love again. But he just may or will he deny it and lose the woman he could love and whom is perfect for him and his young son.

Enjoyable read a great Christmas story that you won't be able to put down. A definite must read.

Please change the cover

I understand that sexy abs sell but when the heroine is a smart, funny, great with kids pediatrician it’s confusing as to why the guy is wearing a stethoscope implying that he’s the doctor. Maybe you could have a sexy shirtless guy with his arm around a woman who is wearing a stethoscope? I know it’s just a cover but in this day and age I hate to see even fictional characters marginalized.

The cover issues aside the story was choppy with some inconsistent character development and a few editing errors. There was also an action by the hero towards the end of the book that was pretty cold and uncaring and was out of character but seemed to be put in for plot development only. This story has the potential to be a good story but it just isn’t quite there yet.

This quick read started off really strong with witty banter and flirtations between the H&h. I was really enjoying the story as many newer books often lack that good back and forth. Then the conflict came, and the story went from showing to telling, with most of the conflict scenes happening off page, and just mentioned in passing. This took me out of the story and left me not feeling the conflict like I should have. Finally, actions happened that made me doubt Ty's feelings for Dani, and the explanations given as to why still did not redeem him to me, this lead to a disappointing end of the story. So I gave the 1st half a 5 and the second half a 3 with a total of 4 stars. Overall, a good book that could have been great.

A very sweet and sexy story

Although this book has heaps of added extras I am going to choose to focus on the title story.
Ty, Dani, Bobby, and Blake's story is based around a sexy widower, with an adorable seven year old son, and the love that grows between them as a family unit, as well as Ty and Dani as a couple.
The dramatic moments are believable, and I really appreciate that this story relationship grows over a realistic time frame. (Nothing worse than the characters reaching a HEA inside a week! )
I enjoyed the humanity of the characters, and the way the story took you on a mildly bumpy road to Happily Ever After, not just sappy perfection.
Definitely a good read if you like ex-servieman, single Dads meeting great life partners.

The story starts with a Dani’s blind date being late and a jerk, she calls off the date and goes on the dating site and fines Ty a funny and single dad.

They meet by mistake when his son swallows a few marbles and she is the pediatrician on duty, they hit it off and agree to go on a date.

What I really liked about the book is how funny they both are, on the date Dani tells Ty: “If this was a bad date I could just tune you out and stare at you all night.”

I fell in love with Bobby and don’t even get me started on Aunt Amelia, she is the craziest and funniest of all.

Really good book to read.

Daddy's Christmas Date by Piper Sullivan
Great way to start the Holidays. Dani is always getting set up on blind dates by her Aunt Amelia. Now she set Dani up on a dating site, A Match Set. Dani is a Doctor with her own practice and just is tired of being let down by her dates by she will try this dating site to please Aunt Amelia. Ty and his son are going it a lone since they lost Ty's wife and Bobby's mom. Blake just wants to see his brother happy again and wants him to try the dating site. What a wonderful story of love. I recommend this story, it is a fast read and very enjoyable. I received an ARC and have voluntarily left a review.

As usual, Piper Sullivan has written another fantastic story that I couldn't put down. Ty and Dani meet on an online dating service. Neither was really wanting to date, but family members kept pushing them to get out there and find someone. Dani's Aunt Amelia kept setting her up on blind dates and she just wanted it to stop. Ty only went through with the online dating because Ty's brother Blake insisted his son Bobby's only wish was for a Mom. Once the two meet, the chemistry is off the charts. It's an emotional roller coaster ride with family, friendship, love, laughter, steamy scenes, and realizing what's most important. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Ty, set up by his brother, and Dani, set up by her aunt, meet through a match making service. They not only experience sexual chemistry, they also like talking to each other....amazing. Not only do they get along, but Dani also gets along with Ty's son Bobby. But..there's always a but...can they overcome the obstacles they will face?

Ty is still trying to get over the death of his wife. Will he be able to let go of the past or will he destroy the best thing that could happen to him and Bobby? And what will Dani do when she finds herself in an unexpected situation in the middle of all this?

Read the book to find out what happens. I volunteered to review for an ARC of this book.

Quality declines with each story in this collection

The title novella in this collection earns a solid three stars. Although the story is formulaic, the heroine isn't and the hero's better than the typical womanizing jerk. It's a cute story. The author, however, really ought to hire a competent editor to strengthen rampant passive voice and correct malapropisms, misspellings, punctuation errors, tense swaps, etc. After the first book in this collection, the quality of writing and storytelling steadily declines with ever more frequent errors, poorly developed characters, and thin plots. If you want my advice, read the first story and then chuck the rest.
