Book 4 in the Rogue Witch Series follows Darcy Llewellyn, fourth year university student, music intern, secret witch, and the werewolves that make up the band Phoenixcry: Finn Gunner, Elias Gunner, Charlie Gage, Wesley “Ace” Rivers, and Cash Legend.

This steamy Reverse Harem Romance is over 52,000 words in length, and is the fourth in a series about Darcy Llewellyn and her pack of werewolf lovers. It's not quite slow burn and not quite medium burn. It's sort of a schmedium burn. You know that tasty size of shirt a guy wears that shows off his arms? Yeah. That. It's that kind of burn. Hope you love it!

The plot is (finally!) proceeding faster. Darcy's training up to get control of her powers, and the hunters are as usual knocking around, causing trouble.

Relationship development stalled slightly in this book - she didn't bond with Charlie like I was expecting, and Eli is still being Captain Dick, but at least she's good with the other three. And we did get a big insight into Charlie's past and character, which I really appreciated, though I would of course have appreciated more. At this point I'm hugely waiting on Eli. We know the least about him (other than that he's kinky and a control freak...) and I CAN'T WAIT for him to finally bond with Darcy.

As usual, there's a massive cliffhanger. Possibly even more massive than all the previous ones. October, here I come!

4 Brought To Life Stars

Pheonixash is the fourth book in The Rogue Witch RH series by K. T. Strange.

Making it back to Seattle, to their safe haven after the turmoil of constant Hunter attacks on tour and skeez-ball musicians. Worrying over their problems finding them in the one place they find comfort. Darcy fears have been confirmed in the knife-wielding cap driver starring in the cliffhanger of book three. Seeing fire surround Max, losing all hope because how could she possibly survive? This is the aftermath.

Their choice to leave the tour had more affect than they seemed to expect. How they could not take into account the disappointment their managing team at XOhX would feel when making such a colossal career choice in beyond me.

Max is not handling her connection to the supernatural side of life particularly well.

As well I’m surprised neither Charlie or Elias joined the mate-bonding bandwagon. I’m upset with Charlie after finishing this installment in the series. His behavior along with the utter lack of solid explanation behind it is honestly soul-crushing. Making me feel all the more for our girl Darce. What a long way we’ve come from the beginning of their journey.

What is up with that ending!? Here I am being mesmerized by yet another amazing character, in Wolfe. He’s hilarious and moody and British and just the perfect addition to the group. Yet he says it’s her fault. Who else could ‘the witch’ be? I want to trust him, especially as Darcy’s new teacher. Alas, it’s hard to achieve a clear understanding of the guy.

Amazing as usual

This book was everything I expected. It was absolutely amazing. Normally, on the 4th book of a series things start to fall apart and the magic starts to fade. Not the case here. The book starts off pretty much where it left off. Seeing as the last book left off on a cliffhanger, you might want to refresh. There wasn't much I didnt like about the book. In fact, I liked it all. I loved the family drama. I loved that Darcy started showing some jealousy. I loved her brutal training and I really loved that we started to learn more about Charlie (whom I felt fell into the background in a lot of scenes before this book). This book checked all of my boxes and I dont know if I can survive the wait for the next book. It's THAT good. Oh yeah, this book ends on a cliffhanger. Which is pretty brutal after such a great book. If you read the first 3 books and are still reading this review without reading this book, you are crazy. So fantastic

And the plot thickens! This story has seriously got me hooked and I just want to dive right in to the world that KT Strange has created.

Just one small issue for me - I take offence to Darcy having felt like she'd "been pounded by those meat tenderisers that everyone seemed to have in their kitchen but never used" and I have a meat tenderiser and I use it... But semantics, who cares about that! haha

I love that we are now seeing Darcy gain (some) control of her powers with the help of a "special" mentor. The boys are having their own issues, as boys do, in that we now have three mated males and two unmated. Of course, the unmated males are starting to distance themselves, especially Charlie who JUST NEEDS TO TALK TO EVERYONE! I also love the inclusion of Max now being a superpower wielding badass (come on! seriously) and I love that we see her frustration about no longer being normal. KT Strange has managed to weave realistic expectations and personality traits into all her characters so that, while the story is paranormal based, we still feel like it's something that could happen to us (real life reactions, am I right?)

While I know that we all hate cliffhangers *cough* WHY *cough*, I have to say this one has me wanting to read Phoenixrise far sooner than the end of October (but I am patient enough to wait). Can't wait to see what comes in the next (and final?!?) instalment of the Rogue Witch series!

Dark

There is lots of hella awesome adult moments in this book that help to balance an otherwise dark installment of our Phoenix cry pack. I felt that our strong awesome werewolves turned into insecure as*hole pups. Darcy did not behave well either. Overall the angst ridden relations between the pack were not handled as well as in previous books. With that said, it is a testimony to the authors talent that I am possessive and emotionally invested in this series. I know the author is dealing with allot in her personal life- so I'm feeling very mean right now. I want to let the author know that I support her and that I most definitely will wait if she needs to take some extra time before releasing the next book. I will be here waiting....... As patiently as I can.

Sometimes, I hate to read a serialized tale. I get so impatient waiting for the next book, I'm not satisfied(temporarily) with anything else I read until I. However, I love this series! I am soo looking forward to Darcy's growth as a witch, the building of her strength and powers with her gift, and the way she grows and matures with the men she loves. I adore the way her men love her and want to protect her, but allows her to be the strong woman she is and encourages her. Her men are flawed, but so is she. They are all damaged to a degree, and I love how they meld, and are helping each other to heal. It is beautiful how, even though they are still adjusting to a new relationship, they have the love and compassion to bring in others and extend love and acceptance to them. I can wait for the next installment, because I know it is going to be great.

2.5* I think I am DNF this series. I was hoping as it improved so that I could get into it more, as I really do like the over all plot. But the characters are all rubbing me up the wrong way. The FMC is not likeable at all, she is very self centered. There is zero communication between the characters, they just brush each other off rather than confide things. It all feels very surface level! They are all very much in love as soon as they are intimate, but none of them share any of their past or feelings or even things that are bothering them. Everything is always bottled up, and the only way to deal with things is distraction through s£x. The intimate scenes are also not very interesting, just a quick few minutes in the position and all of them doing the same moves.

Waste of time

So I really liked this series when I began reading it, but I think I’m over it. We’re now four books in and yet the plot hasn’t really developed much and the characters lack the depth you would expect by this point. In this book you could have read the beginning and just the end and you wouldn’t have missed much. Also, is anyone else tired of Darcy panicking, falling apart, being shocked, being coddled, being comforted or using sex to escape? When does this chick woman up and stop using these guys as a crutch for every single thing. Finally, this is starting to feel like it’s going to be the never ending story. Move the story along already. Ijs

Well holy hell the cliffhanger at the end of this book is going to leave you gasping for breath.I need the next book like now . Ok done with venting . A lot comes to light in the 4 book of this series . We discover some thing about people we thought we knew and we meet some new characters . Let me just say I kinda want to punch Charlie and Eli in the throat right now . I digress. Darcey gets help trying to control her powers but is it all for nothing . We learn more about the packs history in this book . I loved every second of it. Can't wait , and if you already couldn't tell be ready for one hel l of a cliffy .

Witches, Werewolves, Unicorns, Vampires and a Phoenix. Oh My!
Tour life has ended for the moment for Phoenixcry and Darcy, but that doesn’t mean that they will get a break. It’s now time to find a witch to help Darcy control her magic.
With the revelation in the past books that Glory Rev and Chelsea are unicorns. The mythical creatures are continuing to grow in this series, now with the addition of Max (Darcy’s best friend) turning out to be a Phoenix, things are heating up (in more ways than one) in the fourth book.
So looking forward to the next part of the story in book five - Phoenixrise.

I stayed up all night reading this book, I couldn't put it down. Sleep deprivation was totally worth it. So many things going on that there would be too many spoilers to say anything about highlights, Emotions run high, tempers flare, things change and limits are tested. The end, the cliff hanger ending is fa nominal, I'm a sucker for a great cliffy. I can not wait for the next book to find out what is going to happen next. The series is one of my favorites within the RH genre, luckily I don't have to choose just one!

I just knew in this book, book 4, we were finally going to get somewhere with this story. Finally somethings were going to make sense, but no, just more characters that seem to have no point, more moodiness that doesn’t always fit the situation, and even more unanswered questions with nothing coming to light. Darcy Still has no control over any of her “powers.” I feel like this is dragging on forever.

Surely we can’t be so lucky that Darcy kicks the bucket in the fire and Max turns out to be the guys mate....

What the what!

Ugh cliffhanger, but in the most delicious way. Sorry I'm not part of the norm when it comes to cliffhangers, I love them, it keeps me anticipating the next book and helps me remember the ending so well! This was great, just like the previous three. Darcy and Charlie are odds now as well. But that ending had me going, what! No way!! I'm extra curious what's gonna happen in the next book as well as what the neck they are going to do about their Phoenix friend!

Strife

Unfortunately this is where shit gets real. Darcy needs to learn her magic. Charlie and Eli need to get their shit together. And Max is a mystery. Hunters are still on their tails, and Darcy, Finn, Cash and Ace are still strengthening their bond. But when they are attacked again, all hell breaks loose and the pack is falling apart. Lots of strife - hopefully this is the darkest time before the dawn.

I gotta be honest. I'm binge reading because I'm not feeling well and am sprawled on the couch, and these 200 page-ish books go fast. But I like each book less than the previous one. Darcy never learns anything, and in fact gets dumber every book. Theyr relationships don't really evolve. Four books in, and they still haven't talked about really basic shit, like her family. Come the fuck on, already.

This one feels a little rushed

Great story, great characters. This book felt a little rushed and like the story didn't move along much (understandable considering the circumstances). There were also a few more editing errors than the previous book. That said, really looking forward to the next book.

There's just starting to be way too much going on in this book. With helping a friend, stuff at the label, hunters, werewolf stuff, witch stuff, it's just too much. I found myself bored and skimming a lot. And then all that boring, but for 1 chapter of excitement to end on a cliff hanger.

For some reason I really struggled with the beginning of the book. Maybe because it was mostly centered around Max but it just did not entice me enough. Luckily I pushed through and it all got better towards the end. Also I was not completely in tune with Darcy, her actions annoyed me sometimes, but in general this was a good continuation of the series.

Angst arguments and cliffhanger

I was honestly frustrated with most of this book. The beginning starts out intense and then we had a weird relationship poly argument and personal attacks. Then the end we find out some off putting information and have a huge cliffhanger. It's still a great read, and I'm reeling from that cliffhanger.

Uh oh

Things aren't going good for our favorite 6, so much stuff happens and we get to see more on Charlie here. Wolfe seems like such an amazing supporting character, loving him...and thanks to him we get to meet Frankie, the actual youngest that somehow survived from our favorite bands old pack. Book 5, go go go

Love this series

Darcy is on the run and learning about her witch powers. She has mated with some of the guys but not all of them. When the enemy attacks she has to face her greatest fear. Her ex boyfriend is tracking her and will hurt her guys to get her back. The band is on a break from their tour and her job is crumbling around her but she has to survive.

Killing me with cliffhangers

Very gripping storyline! That ending makes me crazy, but it sets up a very dramatic next book! No spoilers in this review, but the action is coming to a head!

I can't express how amazing this book is, be ready to fall in love yet again with the beautiful werewolves and route for Darcy to get the hang of her magic. Again a brilliant book, now I just have to wait for the next one!

Whoa

Cliffhangers are so hard. Especially when you have to wait so long for the next one to come out. This book was rough but in a good way. You get to see more about the guys and little of why Charlie and Eli are so on/off. Can’t wait for the next installment.

Great series

This is an amazing series. A little cheesy at times but I love it. I was able to read this series back to back so no big deal on the cliffhangers until this book and a helluva one it was. Can't wait for the next book.

The progressively shorter, continued cliffhanger novels are unfortunate and irritating but the story is still intriguing enough to not shelve the series.

Removed a star due to a massive pet peeve:
cliffhanger involving uncertainty of life.
