Suicide Six, the last book in the Lone Star series has left me…content. I wasn’t sure how it would all tie together in the end or if I would be happy with the ending…but I was! It is so hard to tell someone how much you loved a book without giving spoilers away (I hate when people do that) but I am going to try!
First off, yes, I did love this book! It answered all of the questions that I had from the first book to this one. Something that I thought would be difficult to do but Bobby Akart, with his magical laptop, managed to pull it off and very smoothly at that! There was action…boy, was there action! There were quiet family moments that were very touching and showed the true force behind the Armstrong family…love for each other. There were loving moments that showed me that even in dire times, we need to hold on to the love for each other to make us strong. There were plenty of anxious moments where I thought my heart would jump out of my chest! And there were definitely many…many scenes like that! The moments that hit me hardest were the ones where friends and loved were lost. Yes, I did cry during these scenes but in true apocalyptic times, we will lose some that are close to us and these scenes just made this story incredibly realistic. There are so many more times in this book that are truly exceptional. Ones that will have you on the edge of your seat, will have you saying…I did not see that coming, that will have you completely astounded and shaking your head and thinking…YES!!! So, yes! I did love this book. In fact…I loved this whole series. Bobby Akart is at the top of my list of post-apocalyptic authors that I love and have read every book that he has written. His books not only tell a story of what could happen as if they were today’s headline, but they also give us information on to possibly survive if/when the shtf. They also give us hope. Hope that at the end of all of the destruction, the losses, the complete devastation of the world as we know it, there is a tomorrow. Thank you, Mr. Akart for all of the work you put into your books. It is greatly appreciated!

From the first page to the last, the action never stops. This is without a doubt the most exciting and thrilling book in the Texas Strong Series. The Armstrong family will need all the guts, training, brains and most of all the family love that has been a bench mark of this series.

The new Republic of Texas is facing her most dangerous and threatening times in her young history, but the Armstrong family will face an even more daunting future, but one that has marked the families history for over a hundred years. Their family before them faced the dangers of a new frontier while the great, great grandchildren will face a new frontier with as many if not more dangers and uncertainty.

America and Texas still face the onslaught of North Korea’s highly trained Lightning Squad and the maniacal American traitor, Manuel Holloway. The family faces the loss of the family ranch and the death of many of their most loyal friends and family as Holloway and his gang of cut throats decide they want the Armstrong Ranch as their new headquarters.

An epic battle for survival rages as the Armstrong family fights to protect their ranch and their family, while at the same time realize they must help the fledgling nation of Texas. I could not sleep until I finished Suicide Six but was so sad to end this fantastic series. Bobby Akart has written many great books including the BOSTON BRAHMIN series and the BLACKOUT series but as much as I loved the characters and story lines of all his books, nothing compares to the character and strength of the Armstrong family and the story of survival that they must fight for themselves and for the new nation being built out of chaos, the Republic of Texas.

Again Bobby has proven not only what a great writer he is but that he still holds the crown as King of TEOTWAWKI. FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY!!!!!

The USA is struggling to recover from an EMP attack that plunged the country into darkness. North Korea emptied its nuclear arsenal into the US. Texas alone had power. Until the night the lights went out in Texas!

America is working to recover from North Korea's and Iran's EMP attack and the nuclear bombing that North Korea inflicted on us. The U.S. response leveled North Korea into a radioactive wasteland. The Texan ERCOT grid withstood the attack and Texas took the opportunity to declare independence and became the country of Texas.

Refugees flooded the borders of Texas, trying to get in and share in Texas's good fortune. Also attacking the border are the North Korean elite commando unit and Manuel Holloway's band of criminals. Their coordinated attack on key substations took down the Texan power grid, plunging Texas into darkness.

The Armstrong family was key to the protection and recovery of Texas. Major Armstrong, retired commander of the Texas Rangers, Company C, has been asked to stand for Vice President of Texas. Duncan Armstrong leads the Texas Quick Response Force, responding to incursions of invading refugees and assaults on overwhelmed local authorities. Miss Lucy and the Rodeo Kids, the youngest three Armstrong siblings, with the help of Duncan's fiance, Sook, and Preacher Caleb O'Malley, the Armstrong Ranch foreman and family friend, cared for the Ranch and the families of the hands.

They all have their hands full protecting and defending their loved ones and the people of Texas against the foreign invaders and domestic terrorists who take advantage of the the lack of authority stretched thin or just missing. General Lee and his North Korean Lightning Death Squad are determined to destroy America starting with the young Texas nation. Duncan will have his hands full with them! Holloway has his eye set on the Armstrong ranch, and his band of thugs are set on taking it for themselves. The Armstrongs are going to have a fight coming.

This final installment of The Lone Star Series enforces the strengths of the remarkable Armstrong family and the bonds they've forged with their community. The characters are so familiar by now they've become like family and I've fallen in love with each and every one! The action is authentic and believable, with some of the best scenes I've read in a long time. All in all, a terrific read! I'm going to miss the Armstrong family !

This is the last book in the series and it begins with the Armstrong Ranch under siege. The ranch is outnumbered and outgunned. Major is still in Austin and there is no way to contact Duncan for help. They are on their own and things are looking mighty bleak. Holloway and his North Korean commandos take over the ranch and the family is forced to escape to the woods. Miss Lucy and Preacher sustained life threatening injuries. Meanwhile, families of ranch hands are trapped in the bunker under the barn which has been destroyed. Major and Duncan arrive at the ranch as the action intensifies even more. Part 1 is not without its sad moments, however, so do not be surprised if you end up shedding a tear or three. I did. A lesson Holloway never learned was, Don't poke a wounded bear. As we begin Part 2, It is probably no spoiler to tell you that Holloway and his commandos did not measure up to Texas Strong. General Lee and his band of merry men are still out there planning to take out the refineries, and Duncan is determined to go get them. He has a secret weapon in Sook, his North Korean fiance. They had taken one prisoner of the commando attack and learned of Lee's plans. They also confiscated a communication device so that Sook was able to relay their plans. Duncan's hand picked fighters were able to get to the refineries first and eliminate the threats. Billy Yancy, who you may recall shared responsibility or abandoning Duncan in North Korea, is still in Washington trying to make sure that the Country of Texas fails as a Country. He decides to make a visit to his huge Texas ranch. With all the action from cover to cover, you may think there are no surprises. If so, you are in for a surprise. A stunning conclusion to yet another series!

Yee-Haw! Texas Strong, Y'all. (audiobook)

Narration: Not a fan of Sean Runnette's voice.

Story: Damn skippy! If y'all love God, Country, Texas, and Guns, then this series is the series for you!

I LOVE prepper fiction. I find most of it so bad that it's good. I mean that in the best way, and I apologize for those folks who treat this whole genre and lifestyle seriously...you do you. I'll keep reading your stories.

This series had a fantastic storyline, interesting characters, insane villains, intrigue, action, rodeos and damsels in distress, as well as damsels causing distress! I enjoyed each chapter and kept coming back for more!

The author makes no attempt to hide his political leanings, to the point where he references the current political environment and how the current president was basically persecuted by the media. It was delicious. He also attempts to portray strong female characters (as long as there are smarter, stronger men around to advise them) and goes out of his way to emphasize good Christian tolerance and that some foreigners are totally OK! Even illegals! They can be family, as long as they were FOR you! And I will give the author a nod for an honest attempt at educating the reader on the dangers of EMPs, even without adding politics.

Bottom line, this series can be enjoyed by God-fearing conservatives sincerely and those of us who find the jingoism, inferred sexism, gun worship and flag waving to be completely over the top and almost farcical. For different reasons of course. ;)

Bobby Akart Lonestar Series is a grand slam homerun. Booby is able to write incredible story lines, teach you survival, the economy, tech, geopolitical situations and do all of this and much more while keeping the reader emotionally attached to the charchters and on the edge of their seats wanting more throughout the entire series. So many of the multi book series, especially survival type series, the further you go forward in the series the quality of the story starts to waver but not once in this series or any of Akart series does this ever happen!

I would suggest anyone reading this series to go back through each of the books and start taking notes on all the valuable information throughout each of these books! When you are finished you will be stunned just how much Bobby puts in each and everyone of his books. In a survival or SHTf situation you will be thankful you did this and it may just be the one thing that enables you to survive just another day to love and protect the ones that mean so much too you!

Series as a whole

While I enjoyed the series overall, it's entertaining and keeps a nice pace, the final book in the series, in my personal opinion, was just a bit weak. Some of the chapters were a bit more drawn out more than they needed to be and pulled away from the overall reading of series and the book itself.
The series overall is very good and a fun read, just that the final book, especially the last two chapters, were just a bit overly sappy. Maybe the author just ran out of steam. Again, the series is well written, the story good, characters are good if just a tad cliche.
Read the series, it's well worth it. If the worst things I can say is it's a bit sappy at the end, well, then that's not too bad of a thing.

Contrasts of Perception in Crisis

Truly enjoyed this (6) six volume series by Bobby Akart. While the backdrop is an EMP, the story really is a great depiction of the difference in perceptions and reactions to crisis. The characters with a biblical world view responded to the effects of the event with a heart of preservation and service. Those with a humanistic world view seemed to respond with a selfish purpose to gain on the backs of others loss. I appreciate that Bobby Akart can weave a tale of such magnitude without the fowl language or graphic depictions of violence that is so popular today. The story is good and if you are reading this genre to glean tips and tricks on smart ways to survive TEOTWAWKI the series does not disappoint.

This is Akart's best series of all!

Aside from the fact that this is centered mostly in Texas, my home, it truly grasps a strong look at what can happen from an EMP attack against the United States unless we got off the can and start hardening our infrastructure.

It also takes a hard and critical look at the regime's of both North Korea and Iran, as well as the " Deep State " here in the USA. If you think that this scenario cannot happen, well let's pray you're right. At least here in Texas, we HAVE worked to protect itself against an EMP, whether from a massive solar flare or man made.

I strongly recommend that everyone read the whole series, starting with book one.

The Armstrong Family - Texas strong -Texas free!!

I’ve read the entire Lone Star series by Bobby Akart and must say it is the best series of all the books and series he’s written. The Armstrong family is my favorite family. I seldom, if ever cry when a character dies or is killed off. But when Preacher died, all I can say to Bobby, “WHY??!!” He was such a good character. Why couldn’t you kill off Yancey. Now there’s a character that needed to be taken out. Anyway, I highly recommend this series. The plot is good and the narrative is interesting. I especially like the fact that the language is clean and there aren’t any sexual innuendos or references.

Brilliant series

This has been an action packed series from book 1 straight through to book 6.
Bobby Akart has an amazing ability to weave a story that you can't put down and you want to fight right along side of the characters.
I am sad to let go of the Armstrong family there strength and courage throughout this series is what we should strive for. I will definitely be reading this series again.

Do yourself a favor stop reading the reviews and get the series you'll enjoy every page

As has become the norm with Mr. Akart, the series concludes in a big way! The action and emotions start fast and don't stop until the end. The country of Texas and the remains of the USA are still reeling from Holloway and Lee's attacks. The entire Armstrong family is tested in ways that one never could anticipate. How will Duncan and Sook take them on? What becomes of the traitor Yancy who had a big part in Duncan getting left behind in the DPRK? What a daunting task they all face in this (sadly) end of a smash hit series from Bobby Akart. All of the loose questions are answered and we all get to witness who is truly #TexasStrong !

Suicide Six is a satisfactory ending to this series. All the threads of the previous novels come together in a logical and rational way. I have to admit that I had noticed in all of the stories some incongruities in them, but they did not detract from the forward progress of the books.
As best as I could, I tried to read through each one without stopping because the mood of the book section worked best that way. There were plenty of different activities happening so that none of the threads failed to appeal.
Suicide Six could stand by itself but is much better as the ending of a series.

This rating is in part for this final book as well as the series as a whole. The first part of this book was first rate. There was lots of action for an expected conflict and had a satisfying conclusion. There are not a lot of errors (but Meghan is Duchess of Sussex and not Duchess of Suffolk) and I like that he takes the time to have a good editor. This series has been well-written and a good read. I'm not so much a fan of all the Texas rah-rah but overall this has been a very good experience.

This is the last book in the 6 book series and it ends with a bang. This emotionally charged, character driven story has lots of action and leaves you breathless as you pray all the people you have grown to love will survive this chilling attack by Northern Korean terrorists. The book and series concludes with a very satisfying end. I highly recommend this book, series and any other series that the wordsmith Bobby Akart has written, you will definitely not be disappointed. If you love the prepper genre this is a MUST READ!

Impressive!

To me this series is so impressive that I have no words to express what I feel about it. There is so much in this series that I can imagine happening to the world and so much good advice given that no one will pay much attention to that it is staggering. I've never been a prepper in the way that it should be approached for my survival, but after reading this series, my children have started to assemble for their future. Thank you Bobby for jump starting my loved ones.

Wrapping it all up... live free and prep!

From a scary beginning, through death and destruction, and ending with God's grace and mercy, fulfilled in love and laughter, this was a great ending to the Lone Star books. I was never much for long series, but enjoyed this one from start to finish. The impact of the thoughts and feelings will last long after I shut the book (turn the last page, or however we finish books in this digital age). In fact, at times, I had the urge to move to Texas to live free and prep! I Thanks for a fantastic series, Bobby Akart.

Wish I could give it 10 stars or a hundred! The whole series is outstandingly good. This final book of the series is one of the best books I have ever read - and I have read thousands.
This gifted author combines intrigue, suspense, bloody combat, romance (both young and old) and a deep undercurrent of commitment to TEXAS. That really resonated with me because I am a 9th generation Texan.
Keep writing Bobby Akart, and I'll keep reading !

One of the best writers on Amazon!

Probably in the top five all time writers! Anyone who hasn’t read Mr. Akart’s books are really missing out. If you love dystopian and apocalyptic stories, he’s the best. Definitely on the plus side is the fact that there is never foul language. He gets the point across without f bombs. I could read his books to a teen and feel comfortable doing so. While there is often violence, it is realistic in context. Most highly recommended!

Suicide Six is a multifaceted end to The Lone Star series. All of the intertwined storylines are finished and brought to closure. The fate of the Armstrong family, the new Nation of Texas and the "new normal" after such a caticlysmic war are all settled.

Want to know how this all happened? Read the final book! I highly recommend this series. Whatever side of the political spectrum you hail from, it will give you important things to ponder.

TEXAS STRONG !

As always, Bobby Akart’s books are so realistic that they become thrillers in their own right. Thought provoking mixed in with headlines makes for exciting reading. I wish he could have been MY history teacher…I understand history better the way this brilliant author explains it! Emotions and plot twists with a strong family structure keeps Mr. Akart far above other authors because his stories are honest, brutal, and as realistic as it can get…ENJOY !

GREAT SERIES Loved all books.

I have enjoyed the whole series. Right from the first book to the last. These books made me wonder what we would do if if something like this happened. There is no one special part of any of the books all GREAT. I believe that I found one of my new favorite authors.

The end of another great series.

As is his habit, Mr. Akart once again provides a series that has me waiting for the episode until...
Now the wait is on for the next series.
It's sorta like the commercial with the woman in the doorway of the store saying, "Open, open, open."

One of the most fantastic endings of a book series I have ever read. All five books in the series keep you going for the final episode of the Armstrong family struggle. Bobby Akart leads you to a story ending that will make you smile and cry at the same time. No other book, or movie for that matter, will leave you the same.

Great conclusion to one of my favorite series' of Akart yet. Duncan really stole the show in this one (again) as he led the fight to rid Texas of the North Korean lightning squads. As a whole, though, Akart has really reached a mastery of bringing his stories and characters to life. He does a great job of balancing the action with development, always keeping the story moving forward.

A BA. SYFY. Novel About the 6th LSS./North Korean invasion! l

The PDNK invasion has been contained with the death of the General. There is still a minor course of PDNK, which is to rid the Texas Republic of the remaining foreign agents in the US. A marriage. A new career. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS

Great reading

I’ve enjoyed all of Bobby Akarts series’s. The Black out series from the Asteroid. Pandemic, the Yellowstone series, and this one about attacks on our electrical grid by terrorists. Only one series left and I’m off to start it now. His characters are memorable, plots and storylines are intense and plausible and it all makes them great dystopian apocalyptic books.

All of Mr. Akart's books are good reading. They're engaging, he builds good character images and goes quite a bit in detail to describe places and events. There's bit too much crying and other emotional scenarios for my taste in an action novel but not so much so as to ruin the experience. Overall, this is a well-written TEOTWAWKI series and worth your time.

AWESOME

I just finished the series and it was AWESOME!!! I have to say...I want to move to TEXAS! The scenes were described Of course we in such detail they would put a museum to shame. The characters actually had faults!!! Of course that's what we expect from Mr. Akart's when reading his books. (We are spoiled from his writing).
