Convergence: Essays on the Intersection between Philosophy and Theology

Rate this book
Philosophy and theology are important concepts for Christians. This important work identifies how philosophy shapes theology, while also addressing various philosophical issues that arise within the Bible and theology. The hope is that this book will catapult the reader into critical thinking, while creating an appetite and appreciation for these separate yet similar disciplines.

"Convergence is an insightful guide and a helpful introduction to the mutually edifying and increasingly important conversation taking place between theology and philosophy."

I originally started this as if it was all one progressive argument. I realized later that it truly is broken up into very separate subtopics. That helped me because I was stuck on some topics that we personally less interesting or harder for me to grasp. Each part may play into another, but every chapter is it’s own complete work.

I especially appreciated the chapter on Ethics, and the last chapter got me interested in St. Gregory of Nazianzus. I’m so thankful to the editors for gifting me a copy of the book. I will continue coming back to this book for years to come. Really just dropping one star because it was quite difficult for me to get through several of the loaded chapters. It’s all great content and full of substance though.
