Even more murder in the Hamptons, from New York Times bestselling author Carrie Doyle
After the craziness of August, the end of summer is supposed to bring peace and tranquility to the posh seaside enclave of East Hampton, New York, not murder! Cozy mystery fans and lovers of Louise Penny, Agatha Christie and Alexander McCall Smith should pour themselves a lemonade and settle in for a juicy read!
Antonia Bingham, chef and proprietor of the town's prestigious Windmill Inn, has been lining up new recipes to try in the quiet, golden days of September, and looks forward to putting murder and mayhem behind her so she can focus on herself and her business. But when a Labor Day visit by two slick Wall Streeters ends with their gruesome deaths in a summer rental house, Antonia is pulled back to the dark side.
With mysterious guests (and possible suspects) popping in and out of the inn, Antonia has no choice but to put back on her sleuthing cap and try to decipher who butchered these men. Wading through social media, the local nightclub scene, share houses, and other unfamiliar haunts of the young and glamorous is an eye-opener for Antonia—and a major time commitment. And the timing couldn't be worse, because Nick Darrow, Antonia's movie star crush, is back in town, available and ready for a commitment...while Antonia's sinister ex-husband is making his presence known in her life again, too.
The high season may be over but Antonia has never been busier, juggling work and crime—and fighting for her own life, too.
Death on Bull Path is the fourth book the in the Hamptons Murder Mysteries written by Carrie Doyle. I've been a fan of the author since the beginning of the series and have enjoyed all the previous books. I've also grabbed a copy of her newest stand-alone book and am excited for a new mystery series she'll begin publishing this summer. If you like NY-based settings with strong female leads, you'll enjoy this one.
Antonia has an abusive ex-husband who got away with his crimes in California. She escaped and restarted her life in the Hamptons, Long Island, New York. She opened a B&B and spends her time cooking, socializing, and solving local murders. This time, two virile male guests drinking in her bar went back to their rental and got themselves murdered. Later, a guest was tied up and robbed in Antonia's inn. Another girl wandered out of the woods in a drug-induced haze. And Antonia's ex-husband shows up to terrorize her. How does it all fit together? Well, you'll find out most of the facts in this book... except a few pieces are left open-ended for what I hope will be the next in series.
I enjoy the scenery in these books. I've been to the Hamptons many times and find this to be a strong, realistic setting. The inn is gorgeous and the roads and shops all fit in perfectly well. I am rooting for Antonia and her love interest, even if his current wife (they are separated) will likely cause them lots of problems. We're getting to the know the staff at the inn more, and the friends stopping by to visit make for a solid supporting cast. I look forward to finding out their backstories and understanding who might be a murderer and who might be a victim.
The mystery was clever and kept me quite absorbed. I bounced back and forth between the different crimes, seeing the connections, but not understanding the full picture. When it finally came together, it was a little out of left field but plausible. I really disliked some of the younger characters (intentionally written that way, which means good writing). My only concern was the ending. It was too abrupt. The mystery was unraveling and we understood why the killer did what (s)he did... but it wasn't fully tied to all the clues and background details. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but I wanted one more chapter to tie up a few loose explanations with the red herrings and smaller crimes.
I fully admit, some of the ending is left as it was probably to finish the story with the ex-husband in the next book... so, I will waited excitedly for that conclusion (there better be one)! I'm giving it 4.5 stars and definitely seeing the growth in this series. Recommended to read from the beginning, but you'll be okay if you skip around so far.
Book 4 in the Hamptons Murder Mysteries. This is the first book in the series that I have read, but I had no trouble getting into the series. I really enjoyed reading this. I liked the description of life in the Hamptons, and the different towns. The mystery was interesting and had enough suspects to keep me guessing. The reveal was surprising to me, but I could also see it working. Additionally, I love the cover art on these books.
The one thing that really bothered me was when Antonia's ex-husband Phillip showed up. I felt nervous the whole time, expecting him to pop up everywhere. I didn't like his abusive and possessive behavior. Just the thought of it makes me angry.
I did like Antonia's relationship with Nick. He seemed like a very loving partner and I like to see that in books. Her love of cooking was apparent, and I do agree with one character's suggestion that she get a private investigator's license, since she is not likely to give up sleuthing.
I received a free copy from the Cozy Mystery Review Crew in exchange for my honest opinion.
I am so glad that I took the time to read the Hamptons Murder Mystery series books by Carrie Doyle back to back. I felt like I was on a continuous trip with my friends and we had a great and exciting time with a few murders in the mix.
Death on Bull Path is the fourth book in the series and by now we know that the main character Antonia Bingham is a very smart and busy person. However, no matter how busy she is, she always makes time to help out when there is a murder. Antonia left California and moved to the Hamptons and bought the Windmill Inn which is an inn and restaurant. She loves being in the kitchen making amazing food for the people that come to eat at the inn but she cannot help but get drawn into the mystery surrounding a murder case. This may stem from being married to a police officer back in California....even though he was a very abusive and controlling person that even though they are divorced and she moved far away, he still gets under her skin.
In Death on Bull Path Antonia gets involved in a double murder case when she learns that the two gentlemen that were killed had been in the bar hours before being murdered. And, of course, she gets pulled in deeper by her partner in crime, Larry Lipper. Larry is actually the crime reporter for the local paper and he thinks that Antonia needs him to solve the cases where she doesn't seem to really need anyone's help.
While Antonia and Larry are looking into the double murders, Antonia finds out that her ex-husband, Phillip, is in town and was in the inn.... just when her friendship with actor Nick Darrow might be moving forward.
Readers cannot help but fall in love with this series and all the little stories that are continuous throughout the books and all the new murders that occur with each new book. Readers will love to see Antonia and the inn succeeding and see how she handles every aspect of her life. Readers will love the level of danger and the relationships among Antonia and the people in her life. Readers will definitley want to pack a bag and hop in the car and head to the Windmill Inn and rent a room for a while. Luckily we can return there with the first four books in the series and keep an eye out for the next book to be released and we don't have to worry about what to pack and all we have to do is go to our comfy seat with a snack and get taken away......
Antonia Bingham owns the Windmill Inn in the East Hamptons. It's just after Labor Day, when the tourist season is slowing down and she can take it easy...or so she thinks. Two men are at the inn one evening, obviously drunk, and the bartender sends them on their way after assuring they have a ride and aren't driving. But when Antonia's friend Sergeant Flanagan shows up, she knows there's going to be trouble.
Unfortunately, that trouble comes in the form of the two men being dead, killed in a most gruesome way. Since they spent some of their last hours there, he wants to know who the woman was that was with them, and if anyone knows her. But Antonia never saw them, and even if she feels because it was her inn, Flanagan tells her nothing.
But it's reporter Larry Lipper who shows up and convinces her that they should investigate the case. As they say, the plot only thickens when a woman comes stumbling out of the woods and another is found in one of Antonia's guest rooms, and neither seem to know what's going on...but do they?
Then movie star Nick Darrow returns and wants to rekindle their romance, but with him not quite divorced from his wife, she wonders just how serious he might be; and things might turn deadly when her ex-husband Philip makes his presence known and sends fear down her spine. Now Antonia needs to keep her wits about her if she's to survive her ex-husband and maybe even a killer...
I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this book. There is plenty of suspense and intrigue going on, and Antonia is kept busy trying to sift through everything that's thrown at her and discover the truth. While she's not officially investigating the murder, and the police share nothing with her regarding the same (which is nicely believable) she has the help of Larry, who doggedly pursues right along with her, following any and every lead available.
But Antonia isn't sure which of the many suspects have the best motive to kill the men. For one, she's not even sure why they were murdered. No one seems to have answers, and they also don't want to answer her questions.
While for the most part this book was a wonderful read, I didn't care for the fact that she would just decide to question someone without really knowing what to say. You don't just knock on someone's door and demand answers; that's the best way to put them on the defensive. It also seems sloppy, in my opinion.
But I do like Antonia. She's still the scared ex-wife of Philip, probably because his chief joy is in terrorizing her at every opportunity. But she's grown and this time she's using her wits and willing to fight back, which is admirable. She's trying to decide if it's worth pursuing a relationship with Nick, while not telling him that Philip is in town. And her ex has some nasty tricks up his sleeve that even Antonia couldn't believe he would do. I also didn't care for something regarding one of the suspects had done to Antonia. I couldn't believe that there was no recourse by her for this, and wish something would have been said. I certainly wouldn't have walked away from it. It irritated me no end throughout the book.
Never fear, the romance angle isn't overshadowing the mystery, and what a mystery it was. There were plenty of red herrings and every time any of the suspects opened their mouths, it sent her in a different direction looking at someone else - and wondering if any of them were telling the truth at all.
The story was taut and well-written, the characters believable; and while there weren't a lot of descriptions of the area, it didn't really matter since not much of the action took place outdoors. The twists and turns were numerous, and in the end, I was completely surprised by the identity of the murderer; while I realize that there are things which can drive people to desperation, this was a new one for me. All the pieces came together nicely, which boded for a very good tale indeed.
This is the fourth book in the series but can be read as a stand alone. There is very little referencing any of the other books (save a small conversation in the beginning) so one will not feel lost in reading this book nor that they've stepped into the middle of a conversation. All in all, a delightful read. Recommended.
Death on Bull Path by Carrie Doyle is an engaging addition to her A Hamptons Murder Mystery series. In this book, Antonia is back and she’s faced with quite a situation. First, two men who patronized her bar one night are found dead the next day. Antonia finds herself embroiled in one mysterious mystery as drama swirls around her and her inn with a variety of characters and the resurfacing of her ex-husband Philip. Death on Bull Path by Carrie Doyle picks up where the last book left off. Antonia is trying to run her inn and be a success at it and attempting to forget Nick, her movie star love, in the process. When a couple of murders happen and then tie into people who were staying at her inn. The author weaves an intriguing mystery and keeps the characters shuffling and the reader guessing as to who committed the murders. The addition of Antonia’s ex adds an unexpected twist and the hits just keep coming! There were honestly moments of where I was on the edge of my seat eager to find out what was going to happen next. I will say that I am a bit disappointed in Antonia. As many mysteries as she has been a part of one would think that she’d have learned a few things about investigations by now. She wants so much to be part of the investigations, but when she inserts herself in attempts to solve the mystery she messes things up. I will complain a bit that we don’t get any true resolution about the situation with the ex, which I was honestly hoping we would. All in all, I have to say that this book is a good story to pick up if you have read the other books by this author and enjoyed them. The author weaves a twisted mystery with a few red herrings thrown in to distract the reader. This book is a well done cozy mystery and one I definitely recommend. I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars.
Death on Bull Path A Hamptons Murder Mystery by Carrie Doyle is a page turning, fast paced, intriquing mystery that keeps you puzzling to the end.
Antonia once again finds herself in the middle of a murder investigation when two Wall Street playboys are murdered. Her interest in solving this murder is because they had been at the bar in her Inn before meeting their demise. She is pulled further into the mystery when the pushy obnoxious reporter Larry Lipper gets her to help him investigate. Add in the fact that some of the suspects show up at the Inn along with a couple of suspicious people who aren't who they say they are and things get pretty interesting. On top of all that Antonia's dangerous ex shows up to put fear and trepidation into her life and add to the danger she is facing. Can she figure out who the murderer is without Antonia becoming a victim too?
This book has so many things going on that it just keeps you wondering what is coming next. The author does a good job of having so many twists and turns as well as complicated circumstances that add tension to the story. So many times when you have so much going on it gets hard to keep it all straight and takes away from the story but not this author, she adds just enough to make it more exciting and interesting. Her characters are relatable and interesting. Antonia is smart but vulnerable too. Joseph is kind, smart, wise and a good listener. Larry Lipper is so obnoxious but also a softy at times too. They all work together and make the story move.
If you like a tense, fast paced mystery with many twists and turns and a lot of suspects this book is for you.
I received this book for my honest opinion and review.
This is the 4th book in the Hampton series and can be read as a stand-alone. But the entire series in fantastic. The characters are well developed although with sometimes Antonia's continued doubting herself can get on your nerves, makes you want to shout....NO don't do that! This series continues to have story lines you just get into and can't put the book down until the end. The red-herrings, twists and turns keeps you moving. There are so many dead ends you just don't know where to go. We are treated with all kinds of good and evil people and lots of sub-plots with Nick wanting Antonia while his vindictive soon to be ex-wife subtly tries to get at Antonia. We also have Antonia's very psychotic ex-husband Phillip who keeps saying Antonia is his and wants her back and who she has a restraining order against showing up in town. Of course you have the murder of two men who were last at Antonia's bar at her Inn, making her interested in investigating the murders with the crazy sleazy newspaper reporter who would do anything to get a story! And then there is Sergeant Flanagan who works by the book, but seems to have a type of crush on Antonia and wants to keep her safe. She is rightfully scared of her ex-husband. I can't wait to see what happens with these characters in the book 5. I LOVE this series and was very happy with this story. The ending was a surprise. I received and ARC of this book, but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
This is the fourth book in the Hamptons Murder Mystery and the first that I have read. Ms. Doyle is a new to me author and when the publisher offered it for review, I gladly accepted the offer to read it. It can be read as a standalone. I was not lost in the story. I enjoyed the descriptive writing, the characters are diverse, and the plot was well-crafted. I must say I was not certain of the murderer, just had a suspicion who it might be. Apparently once again Antonnio is involved in the resolution of a double murder, two Wall Street playboys. She becomes invested because the last place they were seen in public was at her inn’s bar the night of the murder. Added to this, some of the suspects appear at her inn and others aren’t who they saw they are. This just agitates the mix. Antonnio’s agitation begins with the reappearance of her ex-husband who isn’t a peach. There is a lot going on but it isn’t a distraction to the story. I feel it enhances it. I am adding this series to the list of those I must follow. It was interesting, kept me engaged and entertained.
I was given an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book. I am not required to give a positive review. These are my opinions.
Thank you Carol Fitzgerald and the Bookreporter.com Summer Reading Contest for the opportunity to read the new Hamptons Murder Mystery Series, signed by author Carrie Doyle, and to offer my honest opinion/review.
DEATH ON BULL PATH is the fourth book in the series. As the Labor Day holiday approaches, innkeeper-sleuth Antonia Bingham, like the other local residents of East Hampton, eagerly awaits the calm that follows the departure of the tourists. Instead, complications pile up quickly. Antonia allows herself to be distracted by a brutal double murder, problems with unsavory guests at her inn, a renewed love interest, plus new threats from her demented ex-husband, all of which cause her to neglect her business and jeopardize the good reputation of her inn. Sometimes clever, sometimes careless, Antonia is always fun to read about, along with a cast of well-developed interesting characters, and an ample supply of murders. This is a series worth following.
I really enjoy this series and when I am finished the book, am sad that I have to wait so long for the next one. I love Antonia and her inn and her ways of getting involved in murder cases in her town. In this book, there are quite a few quirky characters as well as the return of her horrible ex-husband, Philip which make for a very interesting book. Carrie Doyle does it again by totally surprising me with the identity of the murderer at the end of the book. As i finished the book, I was left with some questions: Is there a future for Antonia and Nick? Is Cheryl here to stay and if so, will that threaten Antonia and Joseph's friendship? Will we see more of Philip? Sadly, I guess I have to wait a year to find out but will be eagerly awaiting her next book!
I enjoyed reading Death on Bull Path, the fourth book in the Hamptons Murder Mystery series. Life becomes complicated for Antonia Bingham, the innkeeper of The Windmill Inn located in East Hampton, New York. At the same time that Antonia is drawn into the investigation of a double murder, she not only is plagued by uncertainties in a new romantic relationship and frightened by a variety of threats and intimidation tactics that involve her abusive ex-husband but also is dealing with unsettling incidents at the inn.
The lighthearted and serious banter between the amateur sleuths, Antonia and her newspaper reporter sidekick, adds to the overall charm of the book. Suspense builds with multiple red herrings expertly woven into the plot. Carrie Doyle does an excellent job of hiding the identity of the guilty party throughout the story until the climax. Vivid and believable characters come alive on the pages. Antonia loves cooking and food descriptions, interspersed throughout the book, sound delicious. Sensory details of towns in the Hamptons along with interesting tidbits of information about lifestyles enhance the reading experience.
Even though I have not read the first three books in the series, it did not diminish the amount of pleasure I derived from reading this delightful mystery. I purchased volumes 1 – 3 and am excited about curling up on the couch and reading until I finish all three of them.
I received a copy of Death on Bull Path in exchange for an honest review. I love the Murder in the Hamptons series. Antonia just wants to run her inn and restaurant in peace but along with investigative reporter, Larry Lipper, she once again finds herself in pursuit of a murderer. A murder with ties to the Windmill Inn, an ex who suddenly reappears and an always complicated relationship with a gorgeous actor all converge to complicate Antonia's quiet life. The mystery keeps the pages turning and clues twisting with humor, intrigue and a wonderful cast of returning supporting characters. Every stay at the Windmill Inn brings the reader deeper into the Hamptons community and feels like returning to visit old friends. Ms. Doyle's writing makes the reader feel like they are traveling the roads of the neighborhoods and discovering clues along with Antonia. Several times I laughed out loud as I always do with this fun group. I highly recommend this series to mystery lovers and cannot wait for the next installment.
While Summer in the Hamptons is wrapping up with the end of Labor Day, things are just heating up for Antonia Bingham at the Windmill Inn. With a murder that seems to link to her Inn somehow and the sudden reappearance of her evil ex husband in her life, there is no down time for Antonia on the day after Labor Day.
At the same time, famous actor Nick Darrow has returned home and is ready to move ahead with life and love with Antonia. Unfortunately Antonia’s ex isn’t ready to let her live her life and scares her enough to make her wonder if she will ever be great from the psycopath who has invaded her inn and home, disregarding the restraint order she has against him. Will Antonia be able to live a long and happy life and find love again? Only time will tell. An enjoyable series set in one of the hottest areas in the Northeast. Who wouldn’t love to spend time in the Hamptons? This is the closest I will get any time soon and I enjoy the whodunit with Antonia and the crew. Hoping there is another entry in this series soon.
Death on Bull Path is the 4th installment of the Hampton Murder series. It can be read as a stand alone book. There are many mentions of Antonia's adventures, but this just whetted my desire to read the earlier books. Carrie Doyle does an amazing job of keeping the reader in the dark. When the murderer was revealed I had to read the chapter twice to make sure of what I had read. I never saw it coming. Her descriptions of young people with money were spot on. I now have to add the Hamptons to my list of places to visit. I loved the descriptions of Antonia's beach walks. And who doesn't dream of a movie star boyfriend. Her characters are wonderful, every heroine needs a couple of senior citizen side kicks. I would have loved to have the recipes that Antonia cooks but perhaps in future books. I received a copy of this book from the author the opinions expressed are my own
Carrie Doyle's A Death on Bull Path is a great book. Antonia Bingham is a wonderful character but so are the rest of them. The Windmill Inn sounds like a place I would love to spend time and walk along the nearby beaches. Carrie Doyle is great at misdirection, you get invested in discovering "who done-it". The twist and turns that she takes you on are so good that you just want to finish the book to see if you are right. Highly recommend this to readers who think they can figure it out by the 3rd chapter – won’t happen. Now that I have read the 4th in the series I will be starting at the beginning. The good thing is that you don't feel like you have to read them all to understand Antonia, but you want to read them all.
This is the 4th book in the Hamptons Murder Mystery series of (so far) 4 books. I haven’t read any of the other books in this series, but I wasn’t lost at all; I feel it works well as a stand-alone. I really enjoyed this book and would now like to go back and read the rest of the series. I’ve never been to the Hamptons and haven’t read any books set there, so I enjoyed learning more about it. This is very well-written and the main characters are well fleshed-out. I especially liked Antonia and her style. The mystery was good, with enough twists that the resolution was extremely satisfying. I’d recommend this book and series to others who like cozy mysteries or mysteries in general. I received this book in expectation of a review, but these opinions are my own.
A delightfully engaging read that kept me glued to the book from the first page to the last word with a fast-paced mystery that quickly became a page turner, including interesting suspects, twists and turns. I felt a real connection with Antonia Bingham, proprietor of East Hampton's prestigious Windmill Inn and loved her dynamic with the other characters especially her "frenemy" Larry Lipper, crime reporter for the East Hampton Star and police Sergeant Flanagan.
Death on Bull Path is a must-read for fans of this genre and I can hardly wait for more Hampton Murder Mysteries from talented author, Carrie Doyle.
I received an advance reader copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.
A Delightful Book! This book kept me guessing until the very end. Every time I thought I knew who done it; Carrie Doyle throw's in another twist. The setting was interesting and I would love to "visit" the town! I will definitely will be following her for future books.
As an East Hampton local I do enjoy this series. Thankfully there is not as many murders here in real life but it is fun to read the books and the author really keeps you guessing til the last pages.
I really liked this series, but this was probably my least favorite in the series. I know there were a couple of story lines throughout the series that needed to be wrapped up, but it kind of felt like mystery was in the background. Even though Nick was separated from his wife of a bad marriage, he was still legally married and I just wasn’t a fan of the Nick and Antonia overlap. Also Cheryl? I really want to know about that whole situation. And Philip? Ugh. Wish more would have happened with that story line other than they just “ran him out of town.” Anyways, I really did love the series and I really liked Antonia!
This is another excellent mystery in the Hamptons Murder Mystery series featuring Antonia Bingham and her Windmill Inn. In this story, two men are viciously murdered, and there are many suspects. She and her friends investigate, while Antonia's love interest, Nick, is trying to get her to go out wit him, and while her violent ex-husband is back in town and trying to terrorize her. This is a great mystery with a surprise ending, and it leaves you wanting to find out what happens to Antonia next.
I have enjoyed this series from the beginning reading about Antonia the crime solving innkeeper\ restaurant owner in the Hamptons. It's always fun to watch her solve a mystery.
I don't know why she doesn't record the calls from Philip. He's not supposed to be communicating with her. It's a against the order, so she could get him arrested.
I really love this series! This particular book however I’m giving 4 out of 5 star because I was so frustrated with the ending! I felt like it was rushed and I really wanted her ex-husband and what he was doing to be addressed! I kept waiting but nothing happened on that front! I also wanted Joseph to realize all that was going on with her! I definitely felt like there was more to come and I know this is the last book so that’s disappointing
The latest Hamptons Murder Mystery has all the great hallmarks of the earlier ones: A suspenseful whodunit plot, insider access to the "Hamptons" hotspots, hilarity from the un-PC East Hampton Star writer, Larry Lipper, and tasty food aplenty, not to mention steamy romance between innkeeper and amateur sleuth Antonia Bingham and her movie star crush, Alex Baldwin...oh, sorry! Nick Darrow, Do yourself a favor and plop down with this juicy read for a few hours this weekend. Just make sure you have some snacks at hand, because it will make you hungry!
"Death on Bull Path (Hamptons Murder Mystery #4)" by Carrie Doyle read well as a stand-alone book. I picked it without having read the others in the series because I was looking for Labor Day related books. It does do a bit more referencing to Labor Day than others I've read so far. I also didn't feel I was missing anything having jumped in at the 4th book.
However, I would say that I am already sick of the Philip subplot and I've only read the 4th book. I feel like this could be a plot point that needs to be resolved quickly but it wasn't in this book. That means there's more and I don't know that I want to know more about it.
The mystery did keep me flipping a little on who I thought was the murderer. However m, there was one person I was fairly certain about. In the end I was right. It didn't really make sense for why they were invited to the middle of the night round table reveal, other than that they'd be revealed as the killer. Antonia didn't really go into much of the how either. We're just to accept that they took advantage of a situation with no details other than motive.
The end of summer in the Hamptons means crisp autumn air, cozy knit sweaters — and murder. 🔪
Antonia Bingham, Windmill Inn chef and proprietor, is looking forward to the off-season after a busy summer. But a when Labor Day visit by two slick Wall Streeters ends with their gruesome murders, Antonia gets pulled into the investigation. Soon she is very deeply involved in the investigation. And the timing couldn’t be worse: Antonia’s crush is back in town and ready for a commitment… while the arrival of her ex-husband threatens to bring everything crashing down. 🩸
A cozy fall murder mystery. 🍁
Safe to say I enjoyed this book! At first I thought it was going to be predictable and boring but the book didn’t end at all how I thought it would. 🍂
There were a lot of different characters and story lines. But there wasn’t really any resolution to the side story lines which I found a little disappointing. Only the main plot. 👎🏼
This was in a theme bag from my library for cozy mysteries. Of the 5 this one is so far my least fave....possibly I should have started at the beginning of the series. The main character just seemed very up and down and too nonchalant about an ex stalking her. The romance element didn't seem at all believable. But I did like the tension between the vacationers and the locals (that felt real), and some of the characters were good (friend Genevieve, the two party girls). Overall, again a good summer read but not sure I'd pick up more in this series.
This is book 4 in the Hampton Murder series. It's Labor Day and the locals are looking forward to the hectic tourist season winding down. Two wallstreet men had drinks at the Inn and were later found murdered in their rented cottage. Antonia has no desire to solve any more murders but she is drawn into the investigation. Nick, her sometimes boyfriend is back in town and she wants to spend time with him. Also sinister ex-husband is back and she wants to avoid him as much as possible. A good cozy mystery to solve.
