எனது நாட்டில் ஒரு துளி நேரம்

வன்னியில் விடுதலைப்புலிகளின்கீழ் அதிசயிக்கத்தக்க பல சமுக மாற்றங்கள் ஏற்பட்டிருந்தன. காந்தியும், அம்பேத்கரும், பெரியாரும் எட்டாத வெற்றியை வன்னியில் விடுதலைப் புலிகள் எட்டினார்கள். தெற்காசியாவில் வியாப்பித்திருக்கும் சாதி எண்ணங்கள் வன்னியில் அழிக்கப்பட்டன. பெண் விடுதலைக்கான முன்னோட்டங்கள் அங்கு உருவாகியிருந்தன. போராட்ட உணர்வை மக்கள் இதயங்களில் ஏற்றி அங்கு மக்கள் ஒன்றுக் கூட்டப் பட்டிருந்தார்கள். தமிழரும் தெற்காசிய மக்களும் பலனடையக் கூடிய இன்னும் பல சமுக மாற்கங்களுக்கான சாத்தியங்களை வன்னி தன்னுள் கொண்டிருந்தது. இப்போது அழிக்கப்பட்டடு விட்டது. இன்று ஏதேனும் ஒரு அற்புதத்தால் தமிழீழம் தனி நாடாகப் பிறந்தாலும் அன்று வன்னி தன்னுள் கொண்டிருந்த நம்பிக்கைகளையும் சாத்தியங்களையும் இனி வரக்கூடிய தமிழீழத்தால் மீட்டேடுக்க முடியாது.

About the author

N. Malathy is a member of the Eelam Tamil diaspora who has lived in New Zealand for four decades. She is a computer scientist who has engaged with and written extensively on the human rights situation in Sri Lanka. She graduated from Peradeniya in Electrical Engineering and holds a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand.

She spent four years in the country of Eezham Tamils, in Vanni under the control of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), from 2005 till 2009. During this period she worked in a human rights body, a women’s organization, and an orphanage. Her experiences spanned working with civilian institutions in the de facto state of the Eezham Tamils, preparing documentation for peace talks, documenting systematic human rights violations by the Sri Lankan military and working on a project to raise awareness of domestic violence.

தமிழீழம் பற்றியும் LTTE அமைப்பின் வலிமையும் பற்றி மிக தெளிவாக கூறி இருக்கிறார் அது மடுமின்றி இலங்கை அரசின் கொடூர செயல்களும் . மக்களின் துயரங்களும் அவர்களின் வழிகளும் நம்மை மனச்சோர்வு அடைய வைக்கிறது . வழிகள் நிறைந்த வரிகள் நம்மை அழ வைக்கின்றன.
