Finding Faith (Bedford Park Brides) by Connie Dave
Connie Dave has a well rounded style.  Her characters are realistic and the obstacles they face are identifiable and relatable.   Like all humans, Ben and Faith weren't meant to be perfect.  Knowing that they were flawed are what draws readers in to their romantic entanglement.  Finding Faith is a roller coaster of emotions that is meant to be explored.

Connie Davé's first novel is poignant, heart-warming, and a glorious celebration of life.

I have been reading small-town romance for well over a decade, and I've no doubt Finding Faith will stand out in my mind a decade from now. For a first novel, there is a surprisingly strong author's voice present, which lures you into the small town of Bedford Park and creates a tangible world you might just wish you could live in, too. The supporting characters are given just enough attention that I was left longing to know more (given that this is the first in a series, hopefully I will!), but not so much that there were conflicting narrative threads. The main characters were written with so much love and care: this novel feels personal, like a memoir, and hopefully you'll feel as I did - that we have been granted access into a very private world.

I am so glad I stumbled upon this author just as she was about to release this book; subsequently, I received an ARC which I have voluntarily reviewed!

N.B. Don't be misled by the title: this is not a clean Christian romance; there are a few mildly steamy bits!

Loved it. Both Ben and Faith have deep rooted issues from their pasts to overcome before they can truly be happy. Ben was bullied as a child and Faith was always told what to do and never allowed to be independent. She came from a social circle where appearances were all that mattered. The personal history of these characters was told very well without making me want to scoff and yell at them to get over it and move on. These issues the author gave them are real and the way she developed their story together was beautifully done. I felt sorry for the characters because I've known some who have had similar childhoods. Connie Dave seems to understand how something that some may see as unimportant or small can impact a person into adulthood. Ben and Faith's lives are defined by their pasts and they are each what the other needs to be able to overcome history and see their potential become reality. This story is something you could read in a biography and not doubt any of it. It's realistic and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a great read.

Read this book as a part of a reviewing group. The book is very well written and has a lovely story, where I found myself laughing and in parts it brought tears of sadness to my eyes. The characters are well explained as is their background and how they have been shaped into the people that they are. It is clear that a lot of research has gone into the parts that brought tears to my eyes, but you will have to read the book to see what I mean as I am not giving too much of the story line away. Well done Connie on this wonderful book. I am hoping there is more in the pipeline about some of the other characters in this book.

Just OK

This book started out very promising. A young woman tasting her freedom for the first time in her life, but she has major trust issues. A young man who has a reputation of being a player, but he isn’t. So it was a good beginning. But then it became sort of repetitive, at least for a while. How many times can you say Faith doesn’t trust men? How many times can you say that, despite that, she finds Ben attractive?

Luckily later on there was more depth. That made it better. But I never really felt it, it didn’t grab me. All in all, I thought it was just OK.

For adults only.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and voluntarily posted an honest review.

This was a wonderful story. It was very witty and the characters and settings were so well described that it felt like I knew them and that I had been there. I was hooked from the very beginning and had a hard time putting it down. I am very much looking forward to the rest of the series.

Faith Sorenson moves to small-town Bedford Park after living a very secluded, entitled life with her parents. She had been taught that appearances are of utmost importance. After finding her fiancé and her best friend in the throws of rapture, she dumps him and decides to leave. Her mother insists she give the louse a second chance, but Faith stands strong. She also changes her own life to fit herself vs. pleasing her parents. However, her upbringing and past experiences has made her determined to avoid all men but especially the type of man that goes through women like water.

Ben Reynolds lives in the house next door to Faith. He has a reputation, although, it is uncalled for. Ben had a rough childhood as he was asthmatic and he was constantly bullied for being weak. As he grew into a man, his asthma disappeared and he started working outside. He trained to be an architect, but after living in a city, he decided to move back to Bedford Park and started working with his friend renovating homes in the area. He enjoys working with his hands vs. always being indoors.

Faith and Ben’s relationship start by smiling at each other as they see the other in their neighbouring yards. Their dogs are friends and Faith and Ben take the plunge to grow their relationship. A medical situation occurs which scares Ben and Faith, but Faith is a strong woman who shows Ben that she loves him for the man he has become over time. As the struggle through the medical situation, Ben acts like an idiot (I wanted to bop him over the head with my Kindle!). He eventually sees the light, and Ben and Faith get their HEA.

I really enjoyed this story, and I loved reading the interactions with all the family and the closeness of the friends Faith discovers in Bedford Park! I know the next book will be equally engaging!

I highly recommend this book! It will make you laugh, cry a bit and give you all the feel goods you want from a HEA book!

I was provided with an ARC of this book and I am providing my honest review.

This is the first book in this series and I am hooked. This is a definite must have romance. Faith is tired of everyone controlling her life. Her parents, her boyfriend and friends. After catching her boyfriend cheating she decides she has had enough. She moves to a small town called Bedford Park. Her life is her own now and she has never felt better. She is free to be herself and make her own decisions.
Ben has been eyeing his new neighbor for two months now. When he finally decides to introduce himself it turns out to be a fiasco. Laughing as he walks away thinking he has to have her. Faith is so unsure of him. She is so scared and finds it hard to trust him. Hell she doesn't trust anyone because of her insecurities from her past.
“I ache for you like an addict craves a drug. I hunger for you like a starving man looking for his next meal, and I need you like a dying man needs air.”
Faith and Ben are magnetically drawn to each other and she realizes she is useless to stop it. She finally gives in and they start dating. Ben is falling in love with Faith and Faith with him. Then tragedy strikes and threatens to tear their new and fragile relationship apart. Can they make it through?
I really enjoyed this book. It is well written with developed characters. I fell in love with the characters. Faith is amazing and strong. She really does overcome her insecurities and fights to take control of her life. Ben is the sweetest and hottest man ever. He is a caring person who puts everyone above himself. He will do anything for anyone, even if it is at his expense.
This story has so much emotion and deep feelings in it. The story is believable and you find that you can relate to it. A bit of a tear jerker at times. I had a little bit of a hard time holding it together. So you best come armed with a box of tissues. You are going need them. I am looking forward to what comes next for the gang of Bedford Park.

I started this book a few weeks ago and then life intervened. Someone nudged me to read it and I started all over and I loved reading it! This book has Romance written all over it, in capital letters. There is so much love and a fizzling physical attraction to hero and heroine, thrown in a great drama and it all worked out! I compliment Connie Davé for a sizzling debut! Did I mention I loved this book?
Faith Sorenson’s only hope to escape her controlling parents, neighbourhood and cheating ex-fiance is to move to another state and into small town called Bedford Park. She vows to herself she will never get involved again with someone she can’t trust and never get in an controlling relationship ever again. She swears off men. That is, until she meets her new and very sexy neighbour, who is determined to tear down the walls Faith has built around her heart. Ben Reynolds, her neighbour, looks at her she has never experienced before in a way that it sears her soul. Faith is beginning to think that he might be worth the risk.
Ben is now an outgoing hunk of a man who longs for a wife and family of his own, after overcoming a childhood wrought with fear and self-doubt. He discovered that serial dating was not the way to find a suitable woman and when he discovers his new and beautiful red headed neighbour he is absolutely sure he has found the woman, meant for him. Now he only has to prove her, he is a man she can trust and put her faith in.
Hot nights and a newfound trust have Faith thinking she might get her happy-ever-after. But a twist of fate has other plans, and now Ben must gamble his last chance of happiness on a daring marriage of convenience. Unfortunately, only time will tell if their love is enough to overcome the obstacles life has thrown at them.

Love Faith & Ben!!

This is the first book I read by Connie Dave. Faith Sorenson’s only hope to escape her controlling parents, neighborhood and cheating ex-fiance is to move to another state and into small town called Bedford Park. She says she will never get involved with someone she can’t trust and never wants anything to do with a controlling man ever again. Then she meets Ben Reynolds her new and very sexy neighbor. She starts having all kinds of feelings going through her for her neighbor. Ben has deep rooted issues as well from his past he needs to overcome before he can truly be happy. Ben had a rough childhood as he was asthmatic and he was constantly bullied for being weak but, as he grew into a man, his asthma disappeared and he started working outside. Ben became an architect but, didn't really care for the city life so he decided to move back to Bedford Park and started working with his friend renovating homes in the area. Ben decided that serial dating was not the way to find a suitable woman. Then he meets Faith and he decided he needed to get to know her better. Faith was beginning to think that Ben might be worth the risk. Then Faith and Ben start dating. Ben is falling in love with Faith and Faith with him. Then a medical situation occurs and Ben is told that he has testicular cancer and needs surgery and treatments and Ben has no medical insurance. Faith decided to ask Ben to marry her and then she could put him on her insurance. Want to know how this story ends?? Well you need to read it!! There were some really good sexy scenes in this story. Thank you Connie Dave for an awesome book!! I can't wait to read the next one!! I truly loved this book!!

For a first novel, I feel this author has a great deal to say and a very lovely way of telling it....I was drawn in to this book straight away, although I do think it was quite slow to get going, the character development was very detailed and certainly gave the reader a clear picture of everyone and the town they live in.

The author has created some lovely characters and an interesting group of friends that I did find myself caring about. However, the inner dialogues of the main characters did go on a bit.
The story has some serious life hurdle/ situations which are dealt with believably and don't get too far fetched. The author still portrays the magnitude of the situations and the feelings involved are real. She shows a true compassion for human nature and a real sensitivity for how people feel and behave.
The steamy bits could do with a bit of spicing up, despite that, the story built nicely and had drama, humour and some real heartfelt moments.
I found myself really rooting for this couple to succeed.
Connie has done well to weave some teasers for the next book into her story making the reader even more vested in the other characters and eager to learn more about their lives.
Ben and Faith.....Both with their own insecurities .... can they help each other to overcome them or will their past lives and families continue to dictate from the sidelines?
I received an arc from the author. I have chosen to leave a review.

I love me some small town romance, and Bedford Park is a new town I'm looking forward to getting lost in. This is my first taste of this author's books, and I'm glad I took a dive in!

Finding Faith is the story of two souls trying to overcome their pasts. Faith moves to Bedford Park to get away from her overbearing parents, constantly trying to control her life. There she meets Ben, who has scars of his own. Their attraction is off the charts!

But what happens when it becomes so much more? The two have to learn to trust the other and open their hearts 100%.

This story hits on a topic I have not read about before, and I'm glad the author took the chance to write it. I felt for both Ben and Faith throughout the story. Faith's situation got better, whereas Ben had to face new challenges head on that were still tied to how he felt as a child. While I understood his hurt, a few times, I did kind of want to throttle him. :)

I love the secondary characters, and am looking forward to learning more about them!

A sweet, yet sexy, satisfying read. I'm an emotional sap, and sometimes it doesn't take much to make me cry, so thanks a lot, Connie Dave, for bringing tears to my eyes. Totally recommend this book!

Faith Sorenson moved to Bedford Park to escape her wealthy, controlling parents and cheating, judgmental ex-fiancé. Both her parents and her ex-fiancé wanted to make Faith over in the ideal perfect upper-class snob who would meet their exacting standards. Faith on the hand just wanted to be herself normal women who could chill out and add a little fun to her life. Having had David, her stiff-necked ex-fiancé cheat on her, Faith has sworn off men especially demeaning and judgmental conceited ones like David.

Yet Faith can't help being attracted to Ben Reynolds her next-door neighbor in her new hometown of Bedford Park. Ben had a great deal of self-doubt to overcome as a child but now he is a handsome well-liked, self-assured guy looking for his forever gal and after he sees Faith he is positive he has found her. The hard part will be convincing Faith that he is her forever guy. Ms. Davé wonderful tale of overcoming heartache and finding one's true love is a delight to read and I hardily recommend reading Finding Faith by Connie Davé. You are going to love this book.

This was a wonderfully written story, Connie Dave gave us some really great characters. The book was a page turner from page one till the end. Faith left her home in the big city and came to a small town. Faith left her ex fiancé and parents to get a fresh start on life. Faith doesn't want anything to do with womanizing men she has had enough. But She can't deny her attraction to her neighbor Ben. Ben is known around town to date a variety of women. Ben is just trying to find a good fit. Ben finds has next door neighbor sexy and wants to get to know her. Can these two come together to get to know each other? Great love story. I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book for an honest review. I loved this book and I definitely recommend it.

What a wonderful story this book was I just wanted more and more of these lovely characters. The author had me laughing out loud and almost crying at this very well written story. The book was very relatable and contained love, friendship, family drama, secrets, challenges, and illness to name just a few. This is the first book of the Bedford Park Brides series and I can’t wait to read more about this town and the people we have already meet as well as more of this very talented author. I have voluntarily reviewed this ARC book and this is my honest review. I loved this book and I definitely recommend it to anyone that enjoys a great love story.

Small town romance with sizzling attraction !

This is a story that reminds you that how you were treated in the past influences who you are now and how your outlook on issues affect you . Faith lives on her own and works for a pet adoption agency . Her family has lots of money and has always tried to lead how she lives her life. Ben has his own restoration business . They are neighbors and interested in each other . The attraction is mutual and sizzling between them . Bedford Park is the town they live in and makes you want to live there . This story goes to show you you may not find a straight path to where you want to be but like a country road you take the twists and turns that are ahead of you . Beautifully written and a must read !

This is the beginning of a series that promises to be enchanting. It is appropriately named Finding Faith, since the main character, Faith, has to rediscover her faith in love , life , and her future.
Her escape from a big city to a small town . Her new neighbor.Ben, also has his own personal demons to overcome.
The plot was well developed and brought to light the reality that our experiences in childhood will affect us into adulthood.
If you enjoy small town stories, with secondary characters that will enchant you and romance , this series is one for you.
I was gifted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Book Review: Finding Faith
Author: Connie Dave
FIVE STARS
A very well written romance. This story follows Faith as she finds her independence from her overly controlling family and her cheating exfiance.
Ben is Faith's next door neighbor and after two months he finally gets up the nerve to introduce himself to the girl next door.
A whirlwind of a romance. This is a clean very sweet romance that has its own share of twists. It will have you laughing and groaning with delight. It will also have you shedding tears as you ride the roller coaster right alone the main characters.
Connie Dave is a new author but I am really looking forward to her other books in this series.

This book was offered to me by the Author to review as I had not read her work before. I feel privileged as I have to say, I was hooked in the first chapter and thoroughly enjoyed the book to the very end. I laughed at the humour, cried at the emotional struggles and smiled broadly during the epilogue. The book is filled with interesting characters who obviously have stories begging to be told and I loved the main characters Faith and Ben. If this is the standard of work from Connie Dave then do yourself a favour and buy her books. Thank you Connie Dave.

There is always hope in Bedford Park!

I absolutely loved this story! Both of the main characters, Faith and Ben, had realistic backgrounds that many people could relate to. But pulling us into the story this way, the author compels us to go along with Faith and Ben and see where their realtionship can go. They fall for each other, and after a medical setback and reaffirming their feelings for each other, we get our HEA. You'll love the main characters and hope to see some of the secondary ones again! Feel free to be drawn into the world of Bedford Park!

This is my first time reading Connie Davé, luckily I started with her first book.
I’m not sure what I was expecting...But I was totally blown away by it..in a good way. There was definitely a plot to the story, happy, sad, unexpected.
Some aspects of the book may not be for everyone. Sex before marriage, some love scenes. Nothing vulgar. All done with a touch of class to it.
I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a sweet read.
And I also recommend joining her Facebook group where she is a hoot.

Voluntary review of an ARC. Beautiful romance. I truly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. Ben and Faith are fully fleshed out and lovely to get to know. Lots of background to understand their motivations. Some scenes are funny and others heartbreaking. Love scenes are just that--LOVE scenes without crude language and only enough detail to be swoon worthy and not overly erotic. Great book. I loved it.

Poignant story of love

Wow! I think I found a treasure. Faith moves to Bedford Park to get away from her controlling parents. Ben is her handsome next door neighbor. Both people realize they are extremely attracted to one another. But can true love grow in hearts that have been broken? Will it stand a life or death test? Ms. Dave' writes as wonderful story about small town life and love. Very much recommend.

Finding Faith, the first in the Bedford Park Bride series was a delightful small-town read. Ben and Faith both have difficult pasts but overcame their struggles with each other's help and love. The town is filled with a great cast of characters who added to the richness of the story. I look forward to the next book in this series!

A new author to me but was very impressed in the writing style. Faith grew up wealthy but needed a new start on her own. Ben living next door to her on her way to living her own life found what he was missing. Both trying to overcome their past find the path they need to be happy after some struggles.

What a book. First book in a ’Small Town’ serie that I will follow closely.
Both Faith and Ben have issues from their childhood and together they make each other better.
The characters feels like real people and their interaction with each other as well as others is really good.
The story will linger in my mind, that I’m certain of.
