What a sweet read! I loved going on another little adventure with the girl, the dog, and the writer.
The dreamy setting in a quaint village in Provence was delightful!
I loved how Freja made so many new friends and discovered that she could make friends wherever she went. It was also cute reading about Tobias and Vivi's unfolding romance. And Pippin! He was just adorable! I laughed out loud a couple of times while reading this book!
I can definitely see myself reading these cute books again.

My Dad bought this book for my tenth birthday. This book is fantastic. The description of all the characters makes me feel like I'm in Provence. The yummy eclairs make my stomach grumble. The way Tobais is always caught up in his book writing makes me think of myself when I write. The way Freja is wondering who is Tobias Appleby is so mysterious that I catch myself wondering the exact the same thing. The way Tobias stares at Vivi really reminded me of true love. The way Freja helped Carousel Henri was really an act of true friendship. The way Vivi and Tobais both like each other but don't know it's really funny. I would't change a thing in this whimsical story. I recommend this story for all kids and mostly for people who like animals and adventures as that is what this book is about.

Interesting sequel to The Girl, the Dog, and the Writer in Rome!
Light read, full of humour and fun, yet simultaneously dealing with deeper emotions. Absolutely loved how each character was portrayed. Especially enjoyed reading about Pippin. My favourite character was Freja, because she wasn’t perfect but was relatable. The twist towards the end was delightfully unexpected. This book made me laugh out loud several times :)
Can’t wait to read the final book in this trilogy!

A wonderful heart warming middle grade read full of humour, fun, and adventure. I found myself laughing out loud several times while reading this book. It is full of endearing and interesting characters, friendship, delicious food, and love. Mix in a bit of jealousy, adventure, and a kind protagonist with good sleuthing skills. The fact that the story is set in Provence made it even more appealing. I also like how the story still dealt with some of Freya's deeper emotions. Highly recommend this second book in the series.

Another exciting adventure filled with jealousy and love.
Lots of mysteries to solve and to discover!
This book was fun to read and I loved reading it.
At times when you're scared, a miracle happens just with one click of your fingers.
I loved this book because there was ... romance, cheekiness, funniness and last of all a happy ending.
So you just must start reading NOW!!!

This book was very sweet and fun. I loved the new characters and thought the setting was super cosy and lighthearted. It was a bit boring at the start since the plot takes a while to get moving but even before things started getting really interesting the book was still charming :) can't wait for the last one!!!!

Another sweet read, thank you Piper. This is just the nicest series, I would have loved it growing up. The themes of friendship, blood family and difference are all here and so sweetly explored. I could not love king Pippin more nor Henni x throw in the poppies, the chocolate croissants, the ducks and lavender…perfect 💜

Another sweet, funny instalment in the adventures of the distractable writer, Tobby, his gigantic and very hungry puppy, Finnegan, and the kind-hearted young girl, Freja. A great balance of adventure and heart-warming fun.

A great book about a girl, a dog, and a writer who live in Provence. It is actually a mystery story, and very intriguing. It is not extremely fast-paced, but an enjoyable, relaxing, and comforting read.

I'll write a better review once I've re-read it because I read it ages ago, but from what I can remember I loved it!
Pippin has to be one of the best characters and I'm sad there is no mention of him again after this book.

A charming follow-up to the first book's adventures in Rome, with the addition of some memorable new characters, from friends to villains. Five-year-old Pippin Pierre steals the show - adorable! And there's more delicious baked goods and mystery afoot. This series is so full of charm and has such a unique feel - cannot wait for book 3, in Lucerne!

The endearing whimsy of book one is dialled up in book two. Readers are enveloped by the sights, tastes, smells and sounds of Provence while the gripping tale is woven. Mystery, adventure, learning, community, love, and a mountain of croissants are all bundled together beautifully. Book three is now eagerly awaited by both mother and daughter of this household!
