Ok so I LOVED this book. I am a HUGE Star Wars fan, so when I saw it I had to get it. I have absolutely no complaints. I was a little disappointed that the rise of Skywalker was not in there but since it just came out I really doubted it would. So this wonderful book starts out with the prequel trilogy. They tell about the characters, aircrafts, pretty much everything that there is to know about the prequels. Then they move on to the Original trilogy’s. They tell you everything there is to know, then to the sequel trilogy. They tell you things about the stuff in the shows, movies and books. Anyway I could go on forever so i am going to finish this review with: I recommend this to any Star Wars fan, please read!!!

Auch wenn ich das Star Wars-Universum sehr spät für mich entdeckte, ist es doch bis heute eines das mich sehr fasziniert. Da es Filme aber meist nicht schaffen wirklich alles näher zu beleuchten, wollte ich mithilfe des Buches einen tieferen Einblick in die Materie bekommen. Diesen erhielt ich dann schließlich schon mit dem Cover, auf welchem unterschiedliche Elemente aus den Filmen zu sehen waren. Doch nicht nur das, denn auch hier wurden schon kleinere Details näher gekennzeichnet. 

Wer dann schließlich das Buch aufschlägt, bekommt die geballte Ladung Star Wars ab. Schon bevor es in die eigentlichen Trilogien ging, wurde ich von gestochen scharfen Bildern regelrecht überflutet. Egal ob Lichtschwerter, Darth Vader oder eine Doppelseite voller Stormtrooper, für das Auge wurde mir einiges geboten. Dies setzte sich dann auch im Verlauf des Buches fort. Aus jeder Trilogie wurden sich viele wichtige Charaktere oder Gegenstände gesucht, welche dann nicht nur eine kleine Kurzbiografie erhielten, sondern auch näher beschrieben wurden. Dabei war es für mich immer besonders spannend, wenn kleine Details wie die Form von Helmen oder gewisse Gerätschaften an Droiden näher beleuchtet wurden. Hier dürften nämlich auch eingefleischte Fans hin und wieder überrascht sein. 

Aufgrund seines Inhaltes ist das Buch natürlich etwas dicker. Doch zum einfachen Durchlesen ist es auch nicht gedacht. Gerade wenn man die Filme noch einmal gesehen hat, ist dieses eine herrliche Lektüre für danach. Zumindest ich habe es so gemacht und war begeistert um viel intensiver dann die Handlung wurde. 










Dieses Buch dürfte Fans und Neueinsteiger des Star Wars-Universums nicht nur begeistern, sondern auch überraschen. Neben den vielen unglaublich detaillierten Illustrationen, gab es auch interessante Texte, die mir so manchen Planeten oder Charakter näher brachten. Was das Buch aber für mich zum Highlight machte, machen waren die vielen kleinen Kennzeichnungen. Ich fand es unglaublich spannend, warum z.B. gewisse Charaktere dies tragen, aus welchen Einzelteilen ein Laserschwert bestand oder welche Werkzeuge Droiden überhaupt besaßen. Ich war und bin immer noch baff und werde das Buch beim nächsten Star Wars-Marathon wieder an meiner Seite wissen.

Facts about, and photos of, technology, creatures, weapons, vehicles, and more. Each character, organization, or species gets only 1-2 pages, so it doesn't go into much depth. A lot of the details are worthless minutia that don't affect the stories. Many of the photos are excellent. It almost exclusively covers movies, with only a few details from TV shows.

This was published in 2018, before Rise of Skywalker, so it doesn't include it.

This was a pretty detailed read. I am not sure I have read a bigger Star Wars reference book than this. I enjoyed the nods to larger canon in this and it had great pics with lots of awesome tidbits of information. As Star Wars grows, they are just going to have to build a giant online visual dictionary so that it can stay updated with new entries. Nonetheless, I enjoy reading all these great DK Visual Dictionaries and this is another great Star Wars reference book for your shelf.
