This is book 12 in the Afterlife saga. The end of days might be over for our newlyweds, but the dark nights are closing in and what lies waiting in the shadows is what even nightmares are afraid of. Because the King of Hell is back and now he has a new bride to keep hidden from the world below…a world that shows no mercy, right along with one of their rulers. Could it really be that Draven is keeping secrets from Keira and if so, how is she ever to reach him when he is hiding in plain sight? A Demon King has finally returned home, and this time… There isn’t an Angel in sight.

You know, I really love this series. This was the FINAL book, and it kind of left me feeling flat.
The characters in this book whom I have grown to love were replaced by clones who were overacting their parts. All of them lost their depth and were reduced to being their own stereotypes. Pip was way over the top and took wayyyy too long to get to any point, causing me to skim. Draven was wayyyy too possessive/overprotective and a bit too sappy. Sophia was relegated to a few lines, all basically either fangirling Keira or making sure she looked good - even though she was in the whole book. Keira basically became TSTL. What did she do in this book that was her stereotype? She hid stuff from Draven that she should have told him. She hid stuff from everyone, thinking it wasn't important or it wasn't real. She continually said that "If I were smart, I wouldn't do this", but goes on to do it. She went to great lengths to try and fix it without letting Draven know. Which of course ends up biting her on the ass. I will miss them.
The bits I had trouble with:
The "problem of the week" basically was Draven's demon trying to get Keira back to hell by either dragging her their or by taking over Draven to get to her. Why is this happening? We don't know but they think it has something to do with being hexed after saving the world. The real reason was all but screamed at us (maybe not the why, but definitely the who, how and when) but the three "boobateers" missed the mark and decided it was due to something else.
Keira handled it by playing off her worries and unexplained behaviors (all brought on by being accosted by a demon) by using her pregnancy as an excuse. She then became bitchy to him (all while feeling bad about it). Whatever. It was an arbitrary obstacle needed to be thrown into the book to keep it from just being "honeymoon in Scotland".
There was all this dramatic happenings where we think Draven's demon is going to get Keira, but nothing happens. He makes an appearance, we cut to black, the next morning comes and she's back in bed wondering what happened. We are anxious because we are sure that there is some kind of consequence to what we just read, but nothing. Nothing. In the whole book, we are set up for some kind of bad thing to happen, but it doesn't. It was all tied up nicely at the end, and we are left with the epilogue to see the HEA. Total red herrings I say!
Finally two things that plagued me through the series: First, why couldn't Keira call Draven "Draven" instead of his first name "Dominic", and why couldn't she remember this in ANY reference to him in person or in passing around her family, leading to her ALWAYS saying "Dra-Dominic"? It was the one thing that made me want to go into the guts of my book and change it.
Second...I really, really, was shipping Lucius. I really liked him better and I can't wait to read his book. I hope it comes out soon. Lucius was a rock star/pirate/libertine who just seems more level headed and "fun" than Draven. Oh, I love Draven, but he turned into a two note character Note 1: sex Note 2: Protect Keira and lock her up safe.

Three years ago, I read the first book in Stephanie Hudson’s Afterlife saga. Now, about 10 books later, I’m still as obsessed with this story as I was back then. I have to admit, I was skeptical when Stephanie announced the 2 “Happy Ever Afterlife” books. The first book of the two didn’t meet my expectations, to be honest, because I found it too much information about things that don’t push the story forward, but Stephanie excelled herself once again with the second book. I can’t believe what Stephanie managed to put into that story by now including all the enemies Keira has to face throughout her journey, and it is insane how well the puzzle pieces fit together, now Draven’s demon being the one Keira has fight. What I also love about Stephanie’s books are the various settings and locations and all the history stuff she manages to stuff into the story flawlessly. It’s really cool that Draven and Keira have their honeymoon in Scotland (and not on one of his private island’s as I suspected :D), and I had to laugh so hard when I read the scene about Pip and the Loch Ness monster! Truly imaginative once again! I can’t wait for the next book which, as far as I know, will be Vincent’s story, and I’m so glad because, seriously, I NEED to know what’s going on with him and Ari!!! Thx for this awesome book, Stephanie – you are and always will be the best author in the universe 😉
DNF @ 43% This was a rather disappointing ending to the saga. I skimmed most of what I read, and it still took me a few weeks, whereas I finished all the other books in two to three days. I was disappointed that Keira and Draven didn't further develop their relationship. Not even in the final installment. The plot is always the same. It’s all about keeping secrets from one another, the women going behind the backs of their men’s backs, and a few other situations that occurred almost exactly like that in previous books. Overall, it’s just so damn repetitive, and I’ve simply had enough. It’s no longer enough to hold my attention. Too bad.
As was the first books of the series, these could not be put down. Draven and Kiera not only turned the heat up for each other, but for the reader. The anger was at times off the charts. So many things made for tears, sweet tears and deep sobbing tears. But so many parts brought out deep rooted laughter as well as tearful laughter. These books are a definite read.
Omg 😲 I can't wait for the spin offs I'm sooooooo excited. all the secondary characters are amazing and I can't wait to read more about them while hopefully getting snippets of how Keira and draven are getting on 😊.
But I'm getting way ahead of myself here........
Back the main story at hand here ( happy ever afterlife part 2 ). Once again we are driven round the bend with all the twists and turns 😏 but I think at this point I don't need to sell you on this book as you will already know it's going to be epic 😎 It's just as dramatic as ever with no end in sight as we now go on to the spin off which will be coming at us thick and fast by the sound of it ☺ though I will miss draven and Keira as I think this is now the end 😭 but every journey must come to an end.
You can’t imagine how relieved I am that this is the final book in the series.* I feel so let down, especially after how much I had enjoyed some of the earlier books. I am skimming numerous pages just trying to find something that adds to the story. I don’t care about the castle’s furnishings or the getup that the women wear for a medievally themed party.
There was no logic to Sophia introducing Keira to the room that held all of Draven’s portraits throughout the ages. That could have waited when there wasn’t a room full of guests waiting for her to appear. Then, once again despite her self-preservation inner warning (which has been established as almost nil) Keira traipses down a dark hallway once Sophia made the horrible decision to leave her alone for longer than a nanosecond.
Is the reader surprised that bad things happen as a result? Oh yeah, never would have seen that coming. Predictable much?
These books have on more occasions than I can count, indicated how much Draven’s demon side covets Keira. What is with it suddenly turning against her? You know, the premise might be more believable had we been given an explanation before it actually occurred.**
This applies to the whole series - What’s with the screaming, screeching, yelling, etc.? Are the characters incapable of carrying on a quiet conversation? It may be warranted at times but is way, way overused.
Keira’s birthmark - I swear one of the earlier books claimed it was on her skull, hidden underneath her hair. Supposedly it hadn’t been seen since she lost her baby fuzz. Now it’s on her neck and has turned into some kind of trigger to Draven’s demon. Why? What caused it to change?
WTH ever happened to Layla? Is she still lurking around? I suppose she’ll reappear in the Transfusion series. Gah!
*OMG! I just discovered two more Afterlife books - Draven’s Afterlife & Draven’s Electus. It’s the same plot, just from Draven’s viewpoint. Milking the storyline much, Stephanie? I’m sorry, I just can’t do it. I need to read a different author and put this misery behind me.
**Of course we later find out that the demon’s attitude is another of Keira’s misinterpretations.

I liked and enjoyed the King Draven and his Queen Kiera. I did not like the last two books 11 and 12. They included too much repetition of what we already knew and then to retell to the various characters, this was just not good. The premise was the same nonsense that the Draven and Kiera should have learned about not keeping secrets but working together to get through the dangers that face them. Instead Kiera continued to keep this secret from her husband Draven and it was like book one all over again. Just No! I did skip through this book to the new plot pages. There was a scene with Lucifer at the end with Kiera, Sofia, and Pip, that was super off because Kiera approached Lucifer like she didn’t know him. It was like she didn’t remember that Lucifer pulled that blood out of her in a big scene in book ten. Also, Kiera is now linked to Lucius because he saved her life by giving her the blood from his very heart, so that fact right there, means Kiera is a close relative to Lucifer through his son Lucius. That scene was just faulty within this world. The ending was a let down, but it was happy. The epilogue with Lucius is good and does lend itself to hopefully his story. This book was disappointing.
After finishing the Afterlife Saga I find myself drained but wanting more and more. I sobbed, I laughed aloud and I found myself cheering or gasping in shock as I went through the books. If only there was a Dominic Draven in real life. No wonder we fall in love with book boyfriends. He is the epitome of perfection. I can’t wait to continue on reading about the other characters in this series especially Lucius for as perfect as Draven is, I think my heart will belong to Lucius above all. Stephanie Hudson is a master at description whether it be people or places or costuming, etc. I can see everything so clearly in my mind’s eye. My greatest wish is to see these books come to life on the screen. I only hope we get a say in the actors to play our favourites. I know what my image of Draven is and I only hope there is a man out there worthy of my thoughts. Onward to Transfusion!
I enjoyed reading this story to a certain extent ...I felt myself getting frustrated with them ....I could not put in down so I read them one after the other...but it has left me mentally and emotionally drained...to me there was lack of communication and trust between hero and heroine, and to much conflict between the two of them, the only thing that seems to save their relationship was their sex and the fact they were chosen for each other as for the other characters well in enjoyed them. I have not read another book in a few days now....because it has left me on edge instead of lightening my heart it has left it heavy...would have loved to have read the other books but if this is what it is going to be like there is no way I am going to be reading them. To much conflict for me.... but I still enjoyed it as I really loved the story.
Laughter is a sweet balm to my soul and I laughed so much reading this book. Stephanie nailed it with all the pregnancy hormone scenes. I'm still dying from Pip's eureka moment and her telling Draven to retreat. In all honesty it was well worth the very short wait. I can't give away any spoilers besides the itty bitty one prior. It's just not my style. I will tell you that the book is superb. Everything you would expect from one of Stephanie's books is there and you might be surprised by a little extra here and there. You will of course have to read it to find out! So buy it, read it and LOVE it as I do. It will be definitely following its predecessors and will be added to my favorites list. Till the next Hudson masterpiece is delivered, enjoy.
This book is the last in the series, and instead of battling outside forces, they are battling parts of themselves. This book had its sweet moments but also its adventurous action-packed ones. It was a great ending to the series.
This book is the second part of book 11 and the end of Kiera and Draven's story. This book has a warning for mature, explicit content like all the others. This read does pick up where the other ended. However, it seems the danger has been identified and isn't done yet.
We get moments of sweetness and happiness and moments that are twisted with yet another problem to solve. I'm glad Sophia and Pip are in this story, as I love when the trio of Ladies are together kicking demon butt. However, we also get more pregnancy stuff in this book.
I'm glad this read wasn't as dramatic or emotional as the others. The whole cast is in this book, and I'm not sure who has gone crazy, Kiera or Draven, as they both seem to be battling stuff internally. Kiera has to go to hell again, but this book ends surprisingly.
I’m so sad to see this end! As Keira is always finding trouble, I feel this series could have been 20 books long! I loved this story and how Kiera and Dom fought for each other! The end seemed really quick for me- and didn’t seem to wrap up so many questions! I wanted this series to show how Lucius finds his chosen, what happens with Ari and Vincent, how Sigurd finds his chosen one and also Jared. What happens with the baby/babies and also there was mention about Libby’s baby being “special”. What the heck happens with Jack and then do RJ and Seth mend their relationship?? What in the frick happened to Layla?? Because she’s still out there!!! Gah! I have so many questions still and no patience to read 15+ more books!!
I have a huge book hangover and I'm not sure if I rated all the books in this saga!! Please forgive me if I did but all would be five stars only because we don't have the option to give more!!!! Ok I'm so sad its over and will have to keep playing on in my head..... You know you dream about these characters!! I don't give away anything in my reviews but I will say I'm happy with the ending and love that it ends with fresh beginning to keep me dreaming. On to another book by Stephanie!!! Thank you for you wonderful mind and the ability to share it this way huge hugs
We always knew Draven was Angel and Demon, but here, we finally meet the real, full-fledged demon within him. Boy was Draven holding him reigned! In this story we truly see his strength and power like never before this. And Kiera's bad$#% - I AM YOUR QUEEN! moment! Wonderful and perfect timing. Of course, Pip's hysterical and welcome commentary allows for a quick breather in all the drama Each chapter, each book, teaches us more and more about these characters we have grown to love. Looking forward to Vincent's story - where the heck have you been and what have you been up to Mr?!
I’am not gonna lie . After 10 really good books , book 11 and 12 was complete disappointment. This happens when author doesn’t know when to stop and just tries to squeeze out as much books as they can , even though there’s hardly any story left to tell. These 2 books was complete waste of time, Keira was very annoying and causing more problems than solution. You should’ve left it 10 books saga, at least then there would’ve been strong ending. Now it’s just disappointing that such a good saga ended on such a week note
There are no words other than amazeballs for this series. I don't normally stay interested in such a long series. They lose me quickly after like book 2 or 3. However the afterlife series was simply perfection. This will go down as one of my all time favorites. I highly recommend this series EVERYONE needs a little Pip in their life 😉. I look forward to all the other series that go to this story. Now what are you waiting for go download this series and start your journey...... Oh and your welcome 😁
The story of Dominic Draven and Keira Williams is full of surprises. It has lots of action and lots of love. The kind of books that pull you in and won’t let you go.
Stephanie Hudson did a fabulous job writing this series. You feel like the characters are friends and with Keira’s descriptions you feel like you are there with them. She keeps the story alive and moving with many things to overcome right done to the end of the story.
Love is a war and is better fought together Keira and Draven eventually figured this out.
Wow what can I say apart from Stephanie Hudson has done it again absolutely Loved it! It had me laughing out loud on a number of times and was a fabulous was to finish draven and keiras story off ( even thou I never want it to end lol ). If you have never read a book my Stephanie then you definitely need to pick the first book up its wicked and I will soon be hooked....
The series is very unique and a good read. I wished this book had more family time showing Darven as a dad and Keira pregnancy. However, this book mimicked the same repetitive flaw that I thought her other books had which was too much details about the places the characters were at and not enough about the characters and what they were doing or saying.
Awesome add to the series. Picks up where we left off with part 1. With a few hints to more to come and what the new spin off series will be, and if you're like me you're dying to know about Ari and Vince. Some recapping and some new things that will leave you wanting to know more. We do get a conclusion for these two, it's been a wild ride and I can't wait for more with their kids with the Chronicles series. Things are just getting started. Can't wait for the next.
I find that with each passing story Keira becomes more childish, annoying, selfish, and Self-righteous. All described away as "she's doing it for love". This character really needs humbling. And as I mentioned before is really irritating reading her speak in this old world talk like the rest of the crew when she originally wasn't speaking that way in the first books. This series started off great, but is now in need of saving of its own.
I can't believe its ended, I read the first book in August and had to carry on and read the rest, what a series I've loved every minute of these books. It is the best series I've read and I've read a lot. The detail the characters everything, I will continue with Vincent's book now , I'm looking forward to the rest of the characters. Especially Pip and Adam, I love Pip I'd like her as my friend. Thank you Stephanie for this wonderful series.
Ok.... Part one could have been written with part 2. One book in my opinion. Part 1 was FILLED w WaY too much sex. Don't get me wrong I have enjoyed the detailed explicit vivid scenes in each past book. However it just went on and on. Part 2 was faster paced. Similar to previous books. All in all: great series and looking forward to the next books revolving around the characters I have come to love.
An epic epic epic finale to a truly sensational series. OMG. I can’t believe they actually got their happy ever afterlife. YES! Oh I didn’t doubt Kiera for one minute. I knew she would never give up. One badass female. Draven. Every girls dream but he has only one that captures his attention 24/7. His demon also wants him back. A pissed demon is definitely not on the agenda. I was riveted from start to finish. Thank you Stephanie x
Seriously loved all the other books but it’s like she’s trying to fill gaps with nonsense. I’m struggling to get past part all because Pip goes off on a tangent for pages- it’s worse than any other the other books. I get it you wanted to make the book longer- but I’m struggling to even finish it because it’s that bad. This is the third time I’ve tried to read it. Who knows if I’ll finish it due to the extra bs that doesn’t need to be in it.
So, I finally finished the entire series. I loved every second of it!
I’m sad to have finished it because I will miss everyone but there is hope, I am now moving on to Transfusion. I hope to see everyone from afterlife there? I have questions though, like what happened with Jack? Did he ever wake? I know there may be some books, I hope to have the answers in transfusion but if not I will look through all of Stephanie’s other books and see if I can find out anything. I need to know lol 😆
What can i say about this saga that i haven't already said? This entire series has kept me going throughout the last fortnight and has gifted me with laughter in a time where my sorrow has threatened to over take me but the other life i found through Keira and Draven's entire love story has hooked me more than i can say. Thank you Stephanie for gifting us with the amazing talent that is yours
What a fitting end to this portion of Dom and Keira’s tale. Lord, I don’t rightly know how they ever survived themselves! Their feelings for each other was the cause for so many lies, lies told to spare the other from pain…but as we all know, lies are the cause of so many relationships to falter, to wither and die. It’s a good thing Mr. Demon took over the reins! Now I’m off to read more!
This series has helped me with anxiety over the last couple of months so I’m so glad I started this. It’s not my usual type of book but I guess I’m into dark supernatural romances now! This ended to quickly for me. I thought there would be atleast another book. Sad to see it go. Although I’ve started transfusion and draven makes an appearance so not all is lost.
Side note- I was absolutely crying with laughter at the “I peed on the couch this morning”
>I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 12th and final in the Afterlife Saga and ends with an HEA. This book has danger coming to Keira from Dom’s demon. Keira has to conquer the demon to get her HEA. This book has a ton of romance! This last book of this series also sets up future books for Lucius.
>This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 4 stars. I wanted more scenes with Dom and Keira as a family.
