The Angel Hunt by Michelle Madow is the second book in the Dark World: The Angel Trials series. This series is a spin off of Michelle’s Dark World: The Vampire Wish series but I don’t think it’s totally necessary to have read The Vampire Wish series although readers would certainly have a much deeper understanding of the world within and a glimpse at the characters that have crossed over to continue on from the end of that series.

Like the previous series The Angel Trials is a urban paranormal fantasy read that has included so far the focus on shifters, witches and demons but mentions vampires and nephilm that were included previously so I’m sure they will play a bigger part soon enough. There is also mentions of the ending of the previous series and Annika who was the lead character so as mentioned starting with The Vampire wish would definitely give a deeper understanding of everything.

The story has continued right where it left off in the first book where readers were introduced to Raven Danvers who was about to celebrate her 21st birthday. Raven’s mother claimed that she is a witch and insisted that Raven would gain powers soon enough but Raven was skeptical of magic. However when Raven was confronted by demons and saved by Noah, who is on a demon hunting task from Annika, Raven’s eyes were opened to a whole new world.

As with all of Michelle Madow’s books the story is one that happens at a fast pace but does a great job of building the world and characters along with keeping the action moving. Each book in the series builds upon the last and leaves readers breathless for more to come. Again this installment was mostly from Raven’s point of view but you do get other point of views along the way as the story progresses. As always when finished I will be anxiously awaiting the next book in the series to see what happens to our characters next.

I received an advance copy from the author, many thanks to Michelle Madow for allowing me to once again read early.

Can we just get the third book now? I am ready for Noah and Raven to be a couple since Noah's stubbornness won't hold them back now. Maybe Raven won't accept him, but I refuse to believe that. I am also ready to find out what exactly happened to Raven when she went on her trip to Europe. I bet that will be exciting and it may give us a part of the puzzle. If the author plans to write 5 books for this series too, I hope that she won't drag out the answers. This book is a strong addition to the series because it has romance, action and it kept me wanting more. I wonder if Thomas and Sage will imprint on each other. I wanna know what happened to the two of them and see how Thomas will handle everything. I am not sure we can trust him, but I hope he will be on the good side. There was one thing I didn't like in this book and that was the way the author separated the chapters. She was ending the chapter in the middle of the scene only to continue it on the next chapter. There was no need for 2 separate chapters and that bothered me when I was reading. Everything else was good and I am very happy and satisfied with this book.

It's an absolutely delightful read, I had loved book one and book two is just as amazing. The series continues with Noah, Sage, and Raven's mission of hunting demons. They all have their own reasons to be on demon hunt. Noah wants to join Earth Angel and protect the world from the evil of darkness. Raven wants to find her mother and find out why demons want her. While, Sage is helping Noah on his mission. Soon the three of them form a bond of friendship, they help each other and protect one anther in times of need. However, their quest is not an easy one. Demons are dangerous enough but now it seems that other supernatural creatures are also trying to get in their way. They remain determined though. Sooner or later they will complete their mission and find the answers that they seek...

Demons are planning something. All supernaturals are trying to prepare themselves for the coming war. In these dark times, Flint wants an alliance with the demons. He feels that he must choose the side which has highest probability or winning... whether it's right or wrong is not his concern. Now only if he could get his sister home, safe and sound so that he may go forward with this alliance and protect his pack against the demons.

It's a great story, very well-written, and I loved all the characters. Of course, Noah and Raven are my favorite. Although, it's an adventurous story, but romance side of it is good too. The chemistry between Noah and Raven is off the charts, not too mention whole can't-happen factor which makes it all the more thrilling. The unlikeliest couples are often the best. ;) Oh, also loved the little twist at the end. Now, I can't wait to read more about what is going to happen to our three favorite demon hunters. :)

P.S. I received a complimentary copy of this book, for which I'd like to thank the author. I really enjoyed reading it.

Slightly better read.

This series is getting better slightly. I want to keep reading on because I want to know what happened to Raven and why her memories have been taken away?
I just feel that there is still something missing from making this more stars I think it needs more adult themes to it ( that's my personal preference! ) and the characters the way they come across is more like teenagers than twenty somethings. But saying that I'm going to carry on to the next installment , hopefully there is a bit more adult action as there seems to be another love interest coming into play!

I received this book as an ARC and here is the review I want to give you.
The angel hunt is book 2 from this series about humans, shifters, witches and vampires in a world where demons came back to. Sage an amazing beta wolf shifter is going to stand guard between Noah and Raven a lot because they can not stand for their own thruth to come out. I loved Ravens so called memories to come forward and her smartass ideas to help the two shifters as well as she can.

Awesome! This book is so full of story but remains cohesive. Raven, Noah and Sage continue their demon hunt, while other story lines weave into theirs. It creates a complexity that keeps me guessing. The relationship between Raven and Noah grows and of course has its own dramas. All the story lines are so exciting. The action is fast, the characters are fascinating and potential unlimited. This is a story that makes it hard to wait for the next book. The author provided me with an ARC to review (how lucky am I?) and this is my honest review.

As book 2 of the series, I found myself liking this even more than the first book! The trio continues on their quest to hunt demons across America. We find out a lot more about Sage's brother Flint, and also about the shifters' history. Perhaps we'll also find out more about Sage's past in the next book... I'm so excited to find out! I couldn't put this book down and finished it within hours.

I finished this book within hours of receiving it and absolutely loved it. If it had been a paperback I would have been flicking the last page back and forth looking for more.

Just couldn’t get into this one. It feels a little dragged out and Noah and Raven are acting like annoying bickering toddlers. It’s basically the same argument on repeat and I just couldn’t do it.

I think this series has great potential though and I think if you can get past the first two books, the story will really pick up.

Review:

Protagonist: Once again I wish I could add an "s" to the end of this section and talk about seeing various POVs in this series, but alas Raven, again, has the vast majority of the story to tell. It's not that I dislike Raven in any way, I really love how she grows and changes over the course of this book, she's still a stubborn spitfire, but in this installment, she really starts to find her groove with her demon hunter companions and starts to feel necessary to their plans of finally getting to Avalon. Raven really starts to take more control of her destiny and pushes herself further in this book. However, I still really wish that we could see from more characters' perspectives, like Noah and Sage, particularly Sage as we learn a little bit more about her and the little that we get seems like it could snowball into something great.

Romance: This is definitely where most of the attention in this installment is placed. In the first installment, the romance between Raven and Noah was merely set up, where here things are turned up to a whole new level. The romance was what really intrigued me most about the first installment, apart from the main plot, I was so interested in seeing how a relationship between Raven and Noah might work if they could never imprint (which is a word I'm not particularly a fan of as it has too many Twilight connotations for my liking, but since it's based on how many animals find a mate, I've sorta let it go.) Then I read the synopsis, and I sort of felt all my interest leave for the romance in this series, I mean, if they can just imprint anyway, where's the struggle, where's the fight to be with each other if their only known roadblock isn't actually a roadblock. All I'll say on the matter is that after reading this book, I might be even more into the romance than ever, I really like the connection between Raven and Noah, even if Noah can be a grumpy little tool sometimes, and I really enjoyed how the author chose to handle their feelings for one another, seriously it's taking so much in me to not gush out spoilers when talking about this.

World Building: Honestly, I don't even know what to write here. There is a decent amount of plot progression and world building in this book, but much like the first installment in this series, I never felt there was enough for a full installment, even by Michelle Madow standards, while we do learn quite a bit more about shifters, and we see more about how the supernatural world works outside of Vampire Kingdoms. Since a large portion of this book is much more about character development and romance, there isn't a whole lot of time to move things along, which kind of bugged me at times as I'm itching to really get things started in this series. There are so many questions hanging in the air going into this book, and I honestly aside from some romance related ones, we don't get a whole lot of answers. In a lot of ways, this felt like the second third of a book, full of action, adventure, and romance, but while the main plot and world building are not forgotten, they're more pushed off to the side for a while, only to spring up when absolutely necessary.

Predictability: There wasn't a single thing in this book that surprised me. Now, that's not the same thing as being able to predict everything, which I was pretty much able to do, but more that when there was something revealed that I didn't know, it didn't shock me in any way. I was really hoping to be surprised by something in this book, even something small, but aside from the synopsis giving a little too much detail and the things I know from the previous series, nothing here took me by surprise.

Ending: So, this was a really great ending. I mean, sure, the final climax could have been better, much like the final climax in the previous installment I felt no real emotional investment on the part of our heroes that would make it special, I mean sure they have their lives to protect and they want to make it to Avalon, both very good driving forces, but for a final climax I feel it should have more depth and mean something more to the characters, now the outcome of the final climax, there's your emotional investment, and it's a really intese few chapters leading to the end of this installment, but since I wouldn't consider that part of the final climax, even though it was to some extent, or really all extent, a byproduct of the final climax, I just wish there was more at stake before the final climax starts than after it's over. Much like nearly all of Madow's previous Dark World books, this story ends with an epilogue chapter of sorts that seems to tee up not only where Book 3 will begin but also introduces a rather interesting new character.

Rating:

So, I did like this book better than the first in this series, but it also suffers from a few of the same problems as the first one, mainly that even for a Michelle Madow book, the pacing is just off and it doesn't quite feel like a full installment, nor does it feel like the second half of an installment. I am still very invested in this series and cannot wait for the next book, I'm just hoping for something a bit more than what we have been getting.

I received a free copy of this book directly from the author Ms. Madow. Thank you so much Michelle! This is my review.

I loved this novel. Raven is so spunky, you just have to love her and her sarcasm. Noah, I have thoroughly enjoyed since the previous series; Dark World: Vampire Wish.

Noah is complex and after everything he's gong through prior to meeting Raven...and seeing their interactions together. It literally makes my heart skip a beat.

Sage is so kick ass, and is seriously the best friend I think everyone would want in their life and to have their back. There were so many twists and turns regarding her character in this novel. I cannot wait to see what happens in Chicago.

This tale is seriously engrossing. I read this novel in one sitting. I devoured it because the plot and the characters are just so darn good. I need more of this world already. I can't wait for the next installment this Summer.

If you haven't read the first series, I would highly recommend it because it's my favourite series that Michelle has written. This series is continuing on with my favourite characters and world...I just can't get enough!

This series will suck you in and not let up until you're complete!! Be prepared to stay up super late to find out what happens next! You won't regret it.

First of all, I just want to say thank you to Michelle Madow for giving me an ARC of this book to read in exchange for an honest review. No compensation was given, offered, or taken to alter the opinion.

My mind is blown! The Angel Hunt was so good that I devoured it in a day! When I say this book literally picked up where the previous one left off, I mean it! I have never read a book that picked up so close to where the previous one left off as this one did! I love how this book was mainly about the action and adventure, while the romance was a nice little extra. The chemistry between Noah and Raven definitely heated up in this book. The Angel Hunt is told from several different points of view, but is mainly told in Raven's point of view. I wish there would've been more chapters from Noah's point of view. I loved this book even more than the first one, The Angel Trials. I need the next book in the series now!

Same as the first book, I ate this up!!

This was a very good “middle book” if you will! It got the plot moving and I loved the character development within this book! LIKE WE LOVE SOME GOOD CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT!!!

I’m excited to see how things will continue, and I’m just so invested in this currently!

With this said, I do adore this very much, but it is a guilty pleasure read. Once again the plot is nothing necessarily new, I’m not a fan on how we are reminded of things (which could be because I’m reading it so fast?), and also the fact it reminds me so much of wattpad makes me know that it’s nothing complex. All this being said I absolutely love it currently, but I feel like looking back on it later I won’t be as fond of it.

The character dynamics in "The Angel Hunt" are wonderful. Here are a set of characters who really aren't too afraid to call 'bullsh*t' on each other. Even the secondary characters played their roles beautifully.

I loved the shift in Noah and Raven's friendship and I can't wait to find out more about its possibilities in the future books.

It does end on a cliff hanger bringing another character into the mix. I am very intrigued to see how the upcoming books reveal the truth behind the information in the last chapter. And ominously, just how far will the betrayal go for the Montgomery pack?

Awesome. Tremendous tale. The interactions between Raven and Noah are absolutely phenomenal. He wants to do everything to protect her. She just wants to get on with her life. And Sage is sage with her insights into their relationship. I look forward to the next installment.

Another great fantasy thriller. Magic, witches, feisty females and demons, just what I like. This is book two in the series and it keeps getting better and better. I am seriously looking forward to the next book in the series, cannot wait. If you like fantasy you’ll love this. Very highly recommended must read.

The second book in the series is getting better with more exciting plots to look forward to, such as the betrayal that soon will break Sage’s heart, Sage’s story with the Vampire, the romance between Noah and Raven, and of course, the ongoing mission to hunt the remaining Demons.

The ending leaves you a cliffhanger as high as Mount Everest! Luckily, I have the next book ready to be read. So, as soon as I finish with this review, I’m going to jump back into the Dark World and discover if Noah will keep his promise and tell Raven about the imprint thingy.

Title: The Angel Hunt
Author: Michelle Madow
Genre: New Adult, Paranormal, Romance
Format: Ebook - ARC
Pages: 266
Rating: 5
Heat: 3

Thoughts: Oh my, that was good! The story, the world, and definitely the heat building between Raven and Noah kept me glued to the pages. And the other characters are just as awesome, Sage is pretty badass (hopefully a spin-off? Please?). I don’t even hate the bad guy yet which is weird, but we still don’t even know why he’s doing what’s he’s doing. This definitely is more romance than action, granted there’s a ton of action. But it seems more like it’s just part of the journey of the HEA and I love it. We get both POV’s so we get a deeper understanding of who they are. I can’t wait to see what happens next. Warning, it is a cliffy but damn that was a good story!

Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work and chose to write a review.

It kind of hit me out of nowhere that this is a sequel to another series and like the idiot I was, haven't read the first one yet *facepalms*

Noah, Sage, and Raven arrrrre back at it again in Angel Hunt. It was a quick read full of more adventure, butt kicking, and one lovely toe-curling kiss. The writing still has some awkward sentence structure here and there, but it didn't detract from the overall enjoyability of reading this installment.

What more can I say? It's a really cute and fun book. What you see is what you get, heh!

Book 2 of 7

Just as wick as the first. Streamlining the hunt for demon while keeping up entertained with the drama. This book was good but I felt like it just got started when it ended. Good thing there are still five more books to go.

Should have been the first book.

Honestly, if the author just took out all the fluff in the first book, and took out the recaps in the second book then combined the two it would have made an amazing first book. Great potential. I will definitely check out the next book.

The hunt for demons is about to heat up.

Somehow Raven has convinced Noah and Sage—the two wolf shifters who saved her from a demon attack—to let her tag along on their quest to kill ten demons. The payoff for completing the mission? Entrance to the mystical island of Avalon, where Raven will go through trials to gain the strength she needs to save her mom’s life.

Raven wants to help the shifters on their quest. But Noah refuses to put her in any danger—which makes no sense, since he hates her. At least she thinks he hates her… until he catches her off guard and kisses her. Suddenly they’re connected in ways she doesn’t understand, and she feels closer to him than ever.

If she didn’t know any better, she’d think they imprinted on each other. But that’s impossible. Because shifters can’t imprint on humans.

And if they did imprint on each other, then the supernatural world is changing—and Raven’s right in the center of it.

Have you come across a series, and each book you read, in which it became more addictive? To the point that you found it hard to put down? The Angel Trials series is that series for me. I know that THE ANGEL HUNT is only the 2nd book in the series and I am already in love with it. I’m in love with the characters and the story, I can’t get enough of Noah and Raven’s story. I read THE ANGEL HUNT in one day and it mostly because I did not want put the book down, I spent hours reading it. Once I reached the end, I picked the next book in series right away. I have read few books about angels, demons, vampires, witches and shifters through the years, but nothing like this one and that’s one of things that I love about this series. Plus, you get so attached to the characters, especially Raven, Noah and Sage, I love all three of them. Though Noah is a bit stubborn, especially when it comes to his and Raven’s relationship, I do understand why he is but at the same time it is frustrating. Raven is not the only one who is frustrated with him. I kind of hope that he stops being so stubborn and accept the feelings he has for Raven, see that the two of them should be together.

I loved the first book in the series, THE ANGEL TRIALS but I loved THE ANGEL HUNT even more, I feel as it had a bit more action, and that ending. That’s the thing about MICHELLE MADOW she always has a twist that even you don’t see a twist. The type of twist that will make you want to pick up next book in series right away, to see what happens. That’s what I did, once I reached the end of THE ANGEL HUNT . The story, the character, the twists is not all I love about it, I love the titles and the covers, they are astonishing. Just look at them. I believe the title itself will have any reader curious, even if you haven’t read any of author’s previous novels. If MICHELLE MADOW wasn’t one of my favorite authors, she would be by now. I always look forward to her novels and have read and own most of them. She will have you hooked from first page until last page. There wasn’t a page in THE ANGEL HUNT where I wasn’t on edge of my seat, where I didn’t wonder what’s going to happen next.

You can see there is connection between Noah and Raven from start. I just wish that Noah would stop being so stubborn and see it. Though I have feeling that way the book ended, I have a feeling that he might be getting there. It also has me wondering, will they finally be together? I been rooting for the two of them since the beginning. I think even Sage sees that there is connection between the two of them. I wish that Noah would stop playing with her emotions, way that I feel he does. It’s not fair to her. I know that Raven is falling in love with Noah, if she isn’t already? I hope that in the next book that the two of them will finally be together like they belong. I already know that will be the series that I will end up re-reading multiple times in the future. It’s magical.

This book, this series deserves more than five stars. A book that is worth every page, and will have you hooked until the end. I can’t wait to see what’s in store next for Raven, Noah and Sage, what other adventures they will have to face.
