My name is Clara Daniels, and I used to be normal. All I wanted was to get my business degree and live my life on my own terms, with my sister by my side and away from my two-face mother and her nosy husband who refuses to stay out of my business. But Fate had a different plan. Not just Fate, but The Fate, as in one of the three sisters with the golden scissors that decides everything. Currently, I am fully Bonded to Ra, an Egyptian god, and nearly Bonded to four others. They call me their Balance. Without me, they would fade away. Die. Now, the Titans are after us, and all hell is breaking loose. Fate has disappeared and the gods will stop at nothing to be sure I am kept out of harm’s way. But a war is coming. I can feel it.
Aspen Winters is from Bettendorf, Iowa. She has a slight obsession with stingrays and anything that has to do with chocolate and wine. On the days she isn’t working, she is either typing or is letting her artistic side out by painting or doing any other art project she has set her mind too. She has many books planned out and can’t wait to share them.
*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
Things are really getting good now as Clara recovers from the events of book one. Thankfully it was enough to make her a little more agreeable and the guys are just a little bit nicer. The two combined has made for some interesting relationship developments that I was really enjoying. Add some new danger to the whole thing to get a book that I had a hard time putting down long enough for me to go to work. The ending just about killed me I have to say. How long until book three? I also have to state how much I enjoy the BFF Yumo that is based off the awesome author herself. If you enjoy paranormal RH romance novels then I highly recommend this book/series. I really enjoyed it so I give it 4/5 stars.
Review copy kindly provided by the author in exchange for a honest review
I haven't read a book from this duo prior to reading this one. I have read quite a few RH but I haven't read a tale like this yet. Whilst I have dived into fantasy and never look back. I haven't read a story that is dividing as this one.. It's very conflicting with the heroine as she torn between worlds and her thoughts don't help in anyways. In fact I need the next one asap after reading this book because I don't know if my heart can take things after reading this book. Whilst this book is definitely in the slow burn category don't let that disillusion you from reading this book. Ashlynn has a story that offers plenty twists and turns. She may have some conflicts but it make sense given that she is only 18 and hasn't experienced the world like her friends have. It work well given the different perspectives that come into play as she gets bitten.
It pits groups against groups and it's heavy on action and paranormal/fantasy creatures which make sense given the direction the story goes which makes things even harder. Do I hope that things certain way yes but there so much potential and this book has made change my thoughts on mermaid books
. I don't know why but mermaid books never really resonated with me. Until this one and whilst it seems good verse evils is going to be the prevalent theme. There is potential with the secondary plots that will help this book become something intriguing and I’m hoping so as I’m hooked and want more of this story soon as possible.
I borrowed this title on my kindle unlimited subscription
This leads on from book one and i thoroughly enjoyed it. I like that Clara is not falling all over her bonded gods. She is seriously stubborn and has a mind of her own. The storyline is great, I love the guys characters and I love the twist and turns I did not see coming, plus all the different gods of all different pantheons. I am looking forward to book three, but I am hoping to see less spelling and grammar errors in the next book as I spotted quite a few in this one which is a real shame as it would have been four stars but the editing let it down a little
This story picks up right where the first one leaves off. The transition is seamless. The character in this book is well done. We get to understand Clara a little better, and see how the men perceive the events as well. I really enjoyed the shifts in POV. It really helps with insight and understanding in each of the characters. The plot line is very engrossing, and the story concept keeps you wanting more. The only caution I will give is that some of the dialogue seems a little stilted because it is more formal. The writing kind of switches between formal and informal. Overall, this is a good book in what is shaping up to be a very intriguing story. I cannot wait to find out where the adventure goes next.
This is the second book in the series by Aspen and I enjoyed this book more then book 1. It starts off exactly where book 1 finished and I loved that we started with Cronus and his POV!! This is a good second book and it is good to see Clara be a lot less painful in this book, we really get to start seeing her develop her relationships with the gods! I would like me to see these relationships develop more though and Clara start to commit more! I absolutely love Ace he is s great gift from Hades...who is still my favourite God!! I am really interested to see what happens in book 3 especially with that cliffhanger of an ending in this book!!
Ok so in my review of open your eyes I said to be continued because I couldnt stop reading to write the review tbh. Now here I am at the end if book 2 open your heart and I feel the need to issue a warning make sure you have these two books or the whole series if they are out as you are reading this. I truly love this story. Its an emotional surprise around every corner page turner. I don't want to give anything away so I will leave you with this thought what your expecting this story to be its nit its so much more.
Oh wow! I’ve been on the edge of my seat waiting for the second book in the Chosen by Fate series, and let me tell you I was not disappointed! I love Clara as a main character and I absolutely love Aspens take on the Greek Gods, it’s different and unique exactly what I love. We learn a lot in this book, and now I’m sat on the edge of my seat again waiting for the third to come out!!!
Great 2nd book 📖 Once again a great book📖 by Aspen Winters 😊 Clara is still a stubborn women who has warmed up to her boned gods 😊 the book takes you on a journey which you can’t help but love ❤️ relationships develop , as have the characters . There are a few surprises were your like really 😮 can not wait to see what happens in the next one , that ending talk about cliff hanger😝 love love love 💗
Clara and her Gods' relationship is progressing well in this book. There are some twists and turns with this one. I can't wait to see what they do against the Titans and see if the discover which God betrayed them all.
Picks up where Book 1 ends. character development has progressed. I wasn't fond of a few characters, but I find the many aspects I didn't like explained and developed. There is a mischievous twist and enemies hidden among them.
At first Clara’s stubborn attitude was annoying to me, but in book two as we see her open up to her chosen I love the way she shows her compassion. I love the way she cares throughout all her botching & moaning .. & if course I love love love Hades & Ace !
I thought this book was even better than the first one. Clara is still trying to learn to trust her bonded but due to her past is struggling. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next one, especially after that ending.
Another home run! More emotional roller coaster ride with Ckara and her gods! Clara tries to open up and be a Bonded. The Gods are having to open up as well. Danger is in the cards and big things are happening. Want to know what is happening? Read it!
I did like this more than book 1 and I love the gods and most books centred round them but this was so repetitive and yes I know she has 5 of them to contend with but still everything was repeated 5 times and then some.
The continuing story of Clara and her gods gives another point of view of Olympus, the Underworld and the gods in charge. I loved the story as it has some twists that will surprise you.
I love Aspen's Chosen by Fate series. The different angle on Gods is awesome. It is also great how she doesn't just use the Greek Gods but all different pantheons. I like the progression of the books and cannot wait to see what happens next with the Gods, Titans, and Clara.
Really enjoyed this book. Seeing Clara and the gods all growing together is lovely. Aspen has out done herself really looking forward too book 3. Thank you Aspen
I enjoyed this book. It’s so different form what’s out at the moment. An MC that isn’t fully accepting of what’s she’s been dealt with is such a breath of fresh air compared to the norm of full acceptance straight away at the Moment. The fact we are two books in and she’s still not 100% really adds to the story!
The main storyline is great with some shockers!!
All in All, a Good read and I can’t wait for the next!!
If you want a twist on mythology and you love RH this series is for you! I was completely engrossed with this book. I definitely give it 5 stars! Great book
