Over the last 25 years, Liz Banner’s life has grown stagnant. Not that she hasn’t loved being a stay-at-home wife and mother, but she didn’t mean to lose herself in the process. And after surviving the most challenging time in her life, Liz realizes that life is too short, and second chances don’t come around very often.
With a milestone birthday approaching, Liz is determined to live a little. And when her best friend, Anne, gifts her a ticket for a 10-day luxury cruise, Liz decides it’s the perfect excuse to experience new things, and just take some time to relax with some of her favorite women. But her idea of a relaxing vacation gets thrown overboard when a few surprise guests make an appearance and attempt to win their way back into Liz’s heart.
With a second chance at life…and love, turning 50 never felt better.
Jen Drapp, who writes under this and also under the name of J.D. Corbett, was raised in Charleston, South Carolina. As a girl, she was obsessed with learning and reading about historical and fictional characters; one of her favorites being Scarlett O'Hara. Jen has always loved writing, whether it was short stories about made-up worlds or even essays for school. She has five contemporary romances published and continues to learn and grow as an author. Jen currently lives in Northern Virginia with her husband, daughter, and a 4 year-old Cattle Dog.
This story was amazing! I felt as if I was being transported to a world of sun, fun, and adventure. It is a great read if you are seeking to escape the boredom and repetitiveness that often interweaves itself into our everyday lives. You can feel the warmth of the sun on your skin, hear the sounds of the waves, and even feel as though you can smell/taste the salty, sea air as you embrace the excitement of Liz's summer romance. This book is not only about romance but also about friendships that stand the test of time. Friends that you know so well that they feel like family. Thoughts and feelings can remain unspoken as they already know what you need, sometimes even before you do.
I absolutely loved this novella. I put my kids to bed and settled in to read this while my husband watched TV. Well, I just couldn't stop. After the house fell quiet and my husband fell asleep, I stayed up to finish Live, Love, Repeat. I had to know how the story ended. Does anyone truly get that second chance? And if you do, do you take it?
Told with heart and wit, Live, Love, Repeat is a great beach read that is quick to grab your attention and hold it until the very end. I am already impatient for book 2!
I was blessed to read an early copy of this & I really enjoyed it! Liz isn't sure if she's ready to cut loose on the cruise, but when her daughter keeps acting like the mom of the trip, she realizes that it's time. She starts standing up for herself & discovers a rekindled love along the way. I loved the banter, family & friendship in this quick read! : )
I love how the story centers on a normal middle aged woman and shows that even they can find themselves enjoying life and love. Each page leaves you wanting to know what's happening next on Liz's adventure. Another great read by a wonderful author!
Great quick read! I found myself getting immersed in the story and wasn't able to put it down. Being that the main character is in my age bracket, it was fun to put myself in her shoes and admired how she jumped into each adventure head-first. Can't wait for part 2! What will she do next???
Liz Banner has spent the last 25 years as a stay-at-home wife and mother, but what has that gotten her? A life that hasn’t been fulfilling, a now ex-husband that cheated on her while she was undergoing chemo treatments, and a few regrets. With a second chance at life, Liz knows that life if too short to sit by idle.
For Liz’s milestone birthday, she and her best friend Anne plan to take a 10-day luxury cruise. They did not expect a cruise with a number of surprising (and some unwanted) passengers. She is delighted by the appearance of an old love and decides to experience new things in life. Who wouldn’t want to get a second chance at life and love when turning 50?
This is a delightful story about life, love, forgiveness, and second chances. The author has created a perfect book with a nice blend of characters, some wit, romance, and a great story.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really feel for the heroine and my heart broke for her at the beginning. Liz Banner has spent the last 25 years as a stay-at-home wife and mother. Her life hasn’t been fulfilling and now her ex-husband that cheated on her while she was undergoing chemo treatments.
And when her best friend, Anne, gifts her a ticket for a 10-day luxury cruise, Liz decides it’s the perfect excuse to experience new things, and just take some time to relax with some of her favorite women.
Overall, this is a wonderful story of 2 middle aged adults rekindling their first love. The plot is very well done and so sweet. I really enjoyed reading.

She was a stay at home mum and her life had become stale as it has been the same. She has a big birthday coming up and she goes of a cruise. She just wants to relax but it does not turn out that way. Things will get interesting so fine out how

The book has a good storyline that is pleasant, interesting and captivating. The characters are intriguing, engaging, and well developed. I liked reading this book.
Second Chance Cruise Ship Romance This is a sweet, mostly clean novella length romance. It is the warm story of 2 middle aged adults rekindling their first love. The plot is sweet and well done. The characters are multilayered and realistic. I would like to read more of this author's work. I received this ARC book for free and this is my honest review.
This was my second read by J.D. Corbett, and I'm a fan. Of the two I've read, they're quick and rom-com-y. Cute and fun and a light read when you need to break things up. I recommend for beach reads, for sure!
In Live, Love, Repeat, Liz is going on a cruise with her best friend and her daughter to celebrate her 50th birthday - and that her cancer is in remission. She's also recently divorced and looking to enjoy some relaxing time. But in the airport, she sees someone who reminds her of the one who got away. But it couldn't be, right?
Liz, her best friend Anne, and her daughter Maggie, all seem to find themselves a bit more on this trip. It even makes me want to go on a cruise!
This is the first book that I have read by this author and it won't be the last one. I really enjoyed the storyline and the cast of characters. It is a quick and easy read but really good.
Liz and her best friend Anne were turning 50 and they are taking a birthday cruise. Anne has her Mom and son with her and Liz has her daughter Maggie with her. What she doesn't count on is that her ex husband and his wife will be on the same cruise.
This makes for an interesting trip. Now through in an old boyfriend of Liz's that she knew before she ever married her now ex-husband.
The author did a wonderful job of making this story believable. If only it were true! An older woman is shown that life doesn't end when you find yourself dealing with a major life change. It opens doors if you avail yourself to the possibilities. Such a great message.
