The Storm has begun. Dave and his group have narrowly survived a showdown with dangerous locals and sex traffickers in the mountains of West Virginia, only to find that a much larger problem at hand will make what has already happened look like the calm before the storm. Some type of electromagnetic pulse has crippled the power grid and other electronics, leaving the group stranded a hundred miles from home in a world already beginning to crumble. They will travel through the mountains of Eastern West Virginia to Dave’s grandparents’ home, where Dave and his grandfather have prepared for such an event. But first, they must survive attacks by desperate refugees, opportunistic marauders, and sadistic predators at seemingly every turn. Meanwhile, Dave’s friend Will attempts to travel west and away from the city, with the same ultimate goal of arriving safely at Dave’s grandparents’ home. He will face the same challenges, but in a drastically different landscape. However, his journey and possibly much more, will be changed forever when he crosses paths with a family in dire straits on the road. Unable to pass by the opportunity to help a woman and child in need, he will become involved in a deadly conflict fueled by hatred and jealousy. Into The Storm is the sequel to The Storm Before The Storm by Post-Apocalyptic author Joe Russell, and the second installment in the American Sundown series.
This series is fantastic! Dave and his group and now Will and his group are all making their way to the homestead of Dave's Grandparents. The Grandparents are also in the thick of things. Love 💘 how things are coming together for the groups in a good fashion but both groups still have their journeys ahead of them. Keep up ☝ the good 👍 work Joe Russell! 👏
Honestly, I read so many books a week, it becomes tedious thinking of what to say for a review. But....loved this book and I think you will too, if you are interested in what happens when the SHTF!
I love all the characters. Would willingly be a beta reader for the author. The respect for YHWH just makes it that much better. I heard the first part on Audible read by Kevin Pierce. Excellently put together.
