Engaged, abducted, and falling for a man accused of murder.

From the outside, Kass has it all. She’s on the fast track to medical school and newly engaged to the perfect guy, at least when he's sober. Beaten down by his abuse, Kass turns to cutting, her success hanging on a razor's edge.

She impulsively offers a handsome hitchhiker a ride to the next town. Logan seems kind, charming and sexy as hell until he pulls a weapon, forcing her to drive him across the country.

Logan has no intention of hurting anyone. Falsely accused of his sister's murder, he's on the run and in a race to find the true culprit.

As law enforcement closes in, Kass and Logan forge a deep connection, and Kass must choose between a past she's not even sure she wants anymore or a future that may not outlast the hour.

What a debut! One of my favorite perks of blogging is the opportunity to read books by authors who are beginning to stick their toes in the water of words then putting them out there for mass consumption. Capture Me is the debut novel of Amber Thielman. It is a romantic suspense story with thrilling twists and turns. It is not a typical or cookie cutter romance at all.

Kassidy Harding is a woman who appears to have it all. Looking in from the outside one would never guess that her perfect fiancé is an abusive drunk. The abuse is so severe that she uses self-injury to deal with the stress of her life and the violence. In a totally out of character impulse, she picks up a cute hitchhiker who kidnaps her for a drive across country.

Logan, the attractive man needing a ride, is also acting out of character. He isn’t violent most days. Logan is on the run because someone accused him of killing his sister. He needs to track down the real killer and clear his name. As he brings Kass around to his side, he helps her address her bad decisions and helps her move forward.

Kass and Logan are both fascinating and well-developed characters. Kass is a strong character who is trying to patch the cracks in her solid foundation. She has a tragic past that she needs to work through. She is a sympathetic character, but I do not consider her weak.

Logan is so conflicted with his decisions. He wants revenge and will do anything to get it. However, his conscience bothers him for bringing Kass into his fight. Logan is a man with a good heart in a dangerous situation. His relationship with Kassidy grows as a slow burn. They become friends then build trust before an emotional connection develops.

For the most part, the author represents the characters’ struggles and flaws realistically. She does an excellent job helping her readers understand the trauma of cutting. Kass’ cutting is her way to feel alive and release her pain. These sections, while difficult to read, take the reader into Kass’ head to understand her.

There are a couple times that I had to do a hand wave or an eye roll. None of the waves were hard enough that it ruined the story or made me put the book down. They are more of a new author learning experience. I would like a more happily ever after than the happy for now ending of Capture Me delivers. It is possible there is another book planned for the future.

I’m a big fan of romantic suspense. It is a pleasure to have a new author to add to my list of must-read suspense novels. Amber Thielman is an author to watch. She has solid skills that will improve with each new book. I recommend that you try to Capture Me then experience her growth with future releases.

Capture Me has a very dramatic beginning - a rescue by an EMT, then it moves to very dramatic things about abuse by a drunken fiance, and so a failing relationship. Here's a warning: there are scenes of cutting through the book which is difficult for many to read about. I wanted to stop reading after the second occurrence, but by then a kidnapping had occurred and exciting things were happening. There was a dramatic ending as well, leading to an HEA thank goodness, and there were great sex scenes throughout. I voluntarily read an Advanced Readers Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I honestly don't see how this book got such high ratings. At 41% in, it is still vague, boring, plotless, and annoying. The characters are not likeable and have no depth or chemistry. The attempts to create suspense are superficial and confusing. Events happen, such as potentially being confronted by police, that are then swept aside with no explanation as to how this couple gets away. And then, there is the highly irritating flaw of a writer forgetting what was written. A big deal was made out of Logan wearing sturdy boots, but after they get to the motel, he is taking off sneakers? Seriously ... why should I care about a plot that the author doesn't seem to care about enough to write well or edit? DNF because it is a pointless non-plot going nowhere.

This deserves six stars not just 'cos it was smokin' HOT!
Wow, wow, wow! What a powerful, beautifully crafted & well written book. A roller coaster journey that commanded me to read it non stop. Such a compelling story, I couldn't read it fast enough. Won't give any spoilers but I found it raw but honest & the characters were way more than captivating. I had this warm & fuzzy feeling & next I was crying. The sexual chemistry was off the charts, phew! If you only buy one book this year, make it this one, it will not disappoint!

What a great debut by Amber Thielman!

This book was different than any romance I've ever read. I loved the story of Kass and Logan because it was complex and layered. It kept me on the edge of my seat, so to speak, as I swiped through my Kindle wondering how these two would figure it all out. I wasn't sure how this story was ever going to resolve itself, and especially get to a happily ever after. At its core though, both of these characters were good people with good hearts, but had to fight their way out of bad situations.

Kass is written as cracked but not broken, smart but not brave, settled but not happy, due to a history of abuse that shadows who she is and what she wants to be. Her adventure with Logan, and Logan himself, changes her. Ironically, when Logan takes her, forcing her to take part in his plan for revenge, Kass is required to be strong, to accept and trust herself, and to learn that her life needs to change. Logan's conflict over what he's doing to Kass is perfectly portrayed. His need to clear his name and his growing feelings for Kass clash thorughout the book, and it tears him up inside.

As a Stockholm Syndrome story, this book could have been a cheesy romance based on instalove and sex, but it's so not that. The characters' relationship developed through so many stages: fear, curiosity, friendship, loyalty, trust, desire, and need. By the time the relationship moved to romance, the reader is on board and wanting these two to have their HEA. Even though the ending isn't all hearts and rainbows and these two have a lot of work to do on themselves and for their relationship, the reader is left knowing that somehow these two belong together and will work it all out in the end. (Also, as a note to the author, I'd love a sequel to see more of these two, and the dog!)

Highly recommended for those who enjoy wonderfully intense, character-driven, sexy-at-times romance that starts you off in the middle of a mess and leads you out page by page.

Kass has such bad luck, if it wasn't for bad luck she'd have no luck at all. She has such a sad and tragic story that anyone could relate to. Her self-doubt and self-hurt causes your heart to break.

Finally she had enough and decides to take a ride to clear her head, when she don't realize her life is about to change by the hands of a stranger.

Logan is the man on a mission of revenge and comes across Kass on the side of the road and in need of a tire change and unknown to him so much more.

This book is just beyond amazing. These characters will make you think and feel. The connection of two broken souls who when they found each other you can hear the Angel's sing. I read it in one sitting because I couldn't close this book on them. Their voice screamed to me and I couldn't deny I wanted to make sure when Ryan found out how strong and amazing Kass is with the man who truly loves her and may have kidnapped her but they saved each other, that he knew he was the d-bag and will always be.

Amber took sensitive subjects like self-cutting and abuse and gave them a positive outcome and to know you don't have to hide and it won't define you. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.

Not enough Star ratings for this great book!!
Amber sent me the ARC for this book and Let me tell you that from the moment I started to read this I was hooked, I just could not put it down. Our main characters are outstanding Logan and Kassidy are perfect for each other. One of the other characters you want to grab and "take him out the back for an ass whooping" he so rightly deserves.
Their pasts are what make them who they are but they do not define them. There is drama, suspense and trust issues within these pages. Your heart will go out to Logan and Kassidy and you will be rooting for their HEA but as the story goes on you will doubt same as I do …….
Will they be able for win the heart of the other, will they find the evidence to clear Logan and will Kassidy face her greatest fears???
Well boys and girls GRAB Capture Me to see!!!!!!! I am not going to spoil the surprise for you.
I received a free ARC copy of this book in return for my HONEST review.

“Are you dangerous, Logan?”

Kass and Logan put together by chance encounter that goes wrong. On a drive to clear her head she picks up Logan thinking she would just be dropping him off at the next town, little did she know that Logan would be forcing her to keep going. Logan doesn’t want to hurt Kass however he’s on a mission to clear his name and will do anything to achieve it.

Kass is a smart woman just accepted into medical school however she has some secrets of her own like an abusive fiancé and turns cutting. When she meets Logan is struck by her instant attraction to him which is much different than how she feels about her fiancé. During their journey Logan and Kass start to care about each other and their mutual attraction is becoming harder to resist.

I really enjoyed the friendship and love that Kass and Logan formed, I was vested in their story and really wanted to see a HEA for them. For a first-time author I thought Amber did a good job, there were some typos and at times the same scene described multiple times which made certain parts a little slow to read through. If you like enemies to lover’s books you should give this one a try.

“Whatever happens to me Kass, I know one thing is for certain, and it’s that I choose you.” “And I choose you,” she said. “I choose you and everything that you are. I choose you and that stupid dog. I choose us.”

A solid compelling mystery romance! From page one I was hooked and remained that way until the end. I could not stop reading and read it in one sitting and have no regrets. The plot is well developed, consistent, relatable and very interesting. The characters met through sheer coincidence however their coming together was very beneficial to them. Kass was able to finally embrace her inner strength and Logan allowed himself to rely on someone else; together they found their HEA. Logan and Kass’ journey is an exciting one with a number of twists and turns, intrigue and ups and downs. A really great read. Highly recommended. DEFINITELY a wild ride!

This book has a little of everything; mystery, action, suspense, humor and, of course, romance.

I was immediately pulled into the story and had a hard time putting it down. As Kass and Logan grew closer, in spite of their unique circumstances, the tension between them increased and I couldn't wait to see what would come of it.

While I wish the ending had been wrapped up in a more HEA ending as opposed to the HFN it has, I was very happy with the outcome and would love to read an update on these two in subsequent books (hint hint...like maybe Kass's friend, Abby, could get her own story...hint hint!)

All in all, I would ABSOLUTELY read more books by Amber!

Was pleasantly surprised by this book and story. The cover gave me the wrong impression, and I expected a light sexy shallow romance. Eventually, I found a nicely written plot with complex and borken characters who gradually learned to trust and redeem eachother under difficult circumstances (him being her armed kidnapper...). I didn't give it 4 stars because the innitial dialogs between the H and h were somewhat repetitive (she makes sarcastic defiant comments, he makes empty threats to her safety, she calls him names - this dynamic lasted too long for my taste). Also, the ending was a bit too apbrupt for me. But all in all - a good read.

A huge 5 stars from me! I absolutely loved this book. It turned out to be so much more emotional and raw than what I was expecting it to be. It hits on a lot. Grief, guilt, loneliness, self harm, but most importantly finding happiness, healing and love in bad times and bad situations. There's suspense that had me wondering what would happen. I really appreciated the light humor not making it become to serious of a book. Logan and Kass were perfect for each other. First time reading anything by this author and I'm not disappointed.

This is an intriguing read with an intense story line. The author brings strong characters in Kass and Logan and weaves an interesting and complex relationship. It's not your typical romance as it has a twisted dark side which kept me glued to the pages to see where they were going with each other. The chemistry is hot and steamy and the story is brought to life with detailed and descriptive scenes. It's well written, moves fluidly and is a thrilling story. I would recommend this book.

I enjoyed this story. It's somewhat of a Stockholm Syndrome story where love blossoms between the characters. It's nicely developed and very intriguing. I really like Kass and Logan. He kidnaps her and needs to clear his name. She has some issues too. They relationship is not one of instant anything it slow develops and grows as the story does. Kass and Logan story is not for the faint of heart because it is complex and layered. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat while you are reading it. Kass has her own demons that she is dealing with due to her past. Logan on the other hand is just trying to get himself a bad situation and clear his name. Can Kass trust Logan? I did truly enjoy the story and characters in this book. It's just I really felt at some times it kind of dragged and these parts did not add to the story. Also I feel as if I've been left hanging, like the story wasn't complete. If you can get past those two things you will be able to enjoy the story.
