This is my favorite of the series so far. I love a good redemption story and when you have the ‘wicked witch’ as the character being redeemed, I’m all for it. Penelope has been the woman responsible for allowing the bad things to happen, but she’s turned over a new leaf and wants people to see her as a force for good now. The werebear Han has been assigned to watch over her and make sure that Penelope isn’t up to her old mischief. In the process, the pair fall for each other while working to save the forest. Having read the previous books in the series, I had a bit of background about many of the characters. I don’t think this story would stand well on its own without having that background. It’s better to have read the two previous books before reading this one. The story goes by really quickly, so I didn’t get the emotional connection I prefer. And I’m not fully convinced by the instant relationship between Penelope and Han. I’ll be interested to see where later books in the series take this pair. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.
This could have been a really good story but unfortunately it wasn't. I found it very disjointed, such as things happening without explanation of how it got to that point almost like scenes were taken out in editing and not replaced. Another thing that irritated me was grammar errors, normally I'm forgiving of the occasional issue as not every beta reader or editor picks up every mistake. However this had numerous mistakes and that added to it being disjointed, like the word Food was used where is should have been Good and what seemed like a paragraph had been rewritten but the author forgot to take one of the sentences out from her previous paragraph so that it made sense/read better. The book also contained 2 s#x scenes, the first I understand and it fit ok not well but ok. But by the end of the book where the second scene was, it just seemed the author put it there for the sake of it, unfortunately by then I just wanted the book to end and I hate feeling that way. Sorry Amelia, but this really needs a re-write as it has so much missed potential.
A witch reforming herself after being released from prison falls for her bear shifter guard
Developer's mother was an evil witch who killed for pleasure. When Penelope was 16 her mother died--or so she thought. Penelope went to live with her grandmother. She never knew who her father was. Penelope was a wild child and accidentally killed her ex-boyfriend and harmed his new girlfriend. She was tricked and sent to jail. As a term of her release she aS under the watch of the Alpha, one of two on the Council made up of members of all the paranormal groups. She sets out to prove she has changed. She is assigned a beard shifter to keep tabs on her. She realizes the trees are dying and sets out to learn why. In trying to discover what type of magic is being used, she finds a young male who appears to be controlled by a stronger power. She determines to fight and finds it is her mother. It is an interesting story about the fight and who wins.
The final book in the Blue Falls series is packed full of action. Penelope, the evil witch from the second book, has been given a chance to become a good witch. After being released from prison after a year without her magic, she returns home...but not without a babysitter. Han, is the bear set to be her shadow and sees the good in Penelope mainly because he had some trouble in his past too. When they discover that magic is being used to make the woods and dryads sick, the other paranormals suspect Penelope is to blame. Out to prove her innocence and fix the problem, Han and Penelope work together along with some others and discover an even bigger secret that leads to a battle not only for their magic but their lives as well. The book starts off slow for nearly half the story but then gets very fast-paced in the last few chapters. Overall, a satisfying conclusion to the series.
Another fantastic read by Amelia Wilson and the last in the Blue Moon series. Penelope was a bad witch she ended up in prison and after a year she is released. Han is a bear shifter and he’s been tasked with being Penelope’s shadow now that she has her powers back. Something has happened in the woods and it’s making everyone and everything sick, the cause magic and they are blaming Penelope. Han and Penelope must find the culprit so Penelope can prove her innocence and show everyone that she’s not evil anymore. There’s action, adventure, danger, betrayal and hot steamy romance to keep you entertained and turning the pages. A fantastic read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.
Penelope has turned her life around and is working to benefit Blue Falls and Cedar Falls, and prove herself to Seraphina. Han has been tasked to keep an eye on her now that she has been given back her powers. Unfortunately, outside influences are determined to make this difficult if not impossible. Han and Penelope are great characters whose attraction sparked from the very first. Well written storyline with action, drama, intrigue, betrayal and steamy romance thrown in. This story will have you turning page after page just to see what comes next. I loved the ending of the book. Well done Amelia. I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
First let me state, I received an Advance Reader Copy, (ARC), but this in no way influences my review. I always leave an honest review.
Excellent story. I truly enjoyed this. This is a continuation of a series yet it can be read alone. Penelope, a witch, went through a rough patch about a year ago and was atoning for her transgressions. She was trying to prove to everyone that she was not evil and that she was rehabilitated. Hans, a bear shifter, was tasked with watching over her not to use her magic for evil. One thing led to another and they hooked up. I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs up.
This is the last book in the Blue Falls series, and it doesn't disappoint at all. The amount of action and fast-paced flow made this one book I didn't want to put down. I couldn't get enough of Penelope and her spit-fire personality. She was easy to relate to and tons of fun. The chemistry between her and Han was instant and kindle melting, and the interactions between the two were everything you would want them to be, even when they weren't full of sunshine and roses. I loved this story!
Penelope was working hard on her redemption when she was saddled with Han as her babysitter. Seraphina and Donovan seemed to be the only ones who believed Penelope could change, which helped a lot when things started going wrong. Penelope and Han were more alike than either realized at first glance.
'I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily reviewed it.'
This is book three in the series but can be read as a stand alone. This is the first one I have read and now I am intrigued. I want to go back and read the others. Penelope is trying to redeem herself and is given a “babysitter” Han, to make sure she doesn’t do anything wrong. She’s not happy about it at first but she soon discovers that maybe she likes him being around.
Wow a redeemed and rehabilitated witch is always a joy to read (a little like the TV series Once Upon a Time) and a sexy smouldering bear shifter who sees the good in her. Fun read especially with the second chance theme and nasty townspeople to don't trust her rehabilitation! Don't miss this!
