Mochizuki Touya continues his work as grand duke of Brunhild. He's the proud inheritor of the (almost) complete Babylon Islands, the mighty master of the Frame Gear Mechs, and a slowly flowering bud of divine power, but that doesn't mean he has any room to relax! The time has come for answers! A new threat emerges within the Roadmare Union! But can Touya convince the mighty doge that his Frame Gears are the right method to deal with the oncoming danger? Just who is the enigmatic Ende, and what does he have to do with the crystal creatures that so recklessly bring the world closer to despair? Just what is the secret of Touya's divinity? Put on your thinking caps for a tale of swords, sorcery, and custom-built mechatronics!
Touya's adventures continue, dealing with rival researchers, the phrase, family matters and exploring more of his divine nature. Like previous volumes it is a light hearted story where Touya does not face any real threats or consequences where most dangers are quickly handwaved away with overwhelming magic or mechas, but that should not come as a surprise by volume 9. It is decently written though, so despite its simple nature I enjoyed reading the volume (and series).
Ende is a mysterious dude. His real name is Endymion. The World Alliance is coming along nicely, and the Duchy of Brunhild is at the core of many developments. Touya hasn't been spending time with his wives, but Leen, the Fairy Clan Matriarch is another candidate. Now Touya has most of the Babylon Pieces. All he needs is the Research Lab.
I enjoyed the book. Thanks for reading my review, and see you next time.
Great story and good continue to those who love the anime I read every book and story just gets better can't wait for book 10 thank you to Patora Fuyuhara keep it up
Touya continues to get into more mischief and adventure as the books go. There was a lot more light hearted adventure this time, along with Touya finally learning the truth in his abilities. Looking forward to learning what happens next.
True to the authors statement of fun to read the series has proven true to that statement. Right now I am enjoying volumes five thru twelve, all one after another, just breaking for sleep. You can eat while reading.
This volume had a lot of fighting and good moments. I do feel like Touya is truly neglecting his fiancés. But I also feel he’s overworking himself and spreading himself too thin. The fact that finally his body caught up with him shows that.
I like this one for being able to have more updates on the characters and Brunhild!!! I wish for more time with the fiancés tho. Hope the next one will have that
