This is possibly one of the worst books I have read in a while. It was a short read, and the premise was good, so I pushed through. But the fact that it took me almost a week to read this book is very telling. The first issue I have is that the writing of the main male character was disjointed. On the one hand, she made him seem very formal, and his language was old-fashioned. But then, during s*x scenes, he talked like a street dude. Nothing is inherently wrong with either of them; they don't mix.
Then, the writing, in general, was rough. It seems the author sat with a thesaurus to write without fully understanding the nuances of the words. The number of malapropisms was laughable. Because of this, some of the sentences just didn't make any sense, or they didn't mean what the author was conveying - or I think what the author was trying to convey. I don't know because it was confusing because it was poorly written.
There were some gems in the book as far as her writing is concerned. I'm sure she has other work that is great, and I am willing to pick up another one to see, but if it's more of this, I'll pass.
