A bisexual prince isn’t the only scandal in this palace.

Destined for the crown he doesn’t want.
Bad boy Alexander hates his title. He’s the tabloids’ favourite hot mess. Xander thrives in the attention but wishes they’d leave those rumours about him on the editing room floor. The ones about the type of company he likes to keep.

Irresponsibility takes a backseat when tragedy strikes the royal family. Gone are the days of being the reluctant prince. Instead, duty and obligation become Xander’s life. Until he meets Delia.

Not as lady-like as she seems.
Lady Cordelia Hillington was raised right. She knows how to act appropriately in public and appear demure in front of the dignitaries she grew up around. Which is why Prince Alexander is taken aback by dirty promises falling out of her mouth at a charity event.

After a steamy night at an anonymous, high-end sex club with a handsome stranger wearing a mask, Xander and Delia are desperate to find their Cinderella man. Little do they know, he’s closer than either of them would suspect.

Determined to remain professional.
Roman Elliot, former soldier turned royal guard, has kept his feelings for the prince a secret for years. His job is everything to him, and he’s not going to do anything to jeopardize it. That’s the plan until he finds Prince Alexander at a sex club with none of his security detail accompanying him.

It’s a night Roman wishes he could forget but being assigned as Delia’s protector for the summer makes it hard. He can’t let them know it was him they spent a night with, but he gets the feeling both Xander and Delia already might know …

**Unprincely is a 54,000-word MMF contemporary royal novel with over the top characters, impromptu proposals, and just a touch of Cinderella-ism. HEA guaranteed.**

Heavy on the instalove but not as sexy as one would expect from three people who are pretty much always raring to go. This ménage romance with a royal twist is better than your average MMF. Xander, Roman and Delia have above average communication skills (for the most part) and read authentic (for the most part).

Roman was Xanders bodyguard for two years and during that time he fell for him but never let on, so they have a quasi-established relationship but Finley managed to show a connection between both Xander and Delia as well as Delia and Roman which was nice. No one was tacked on and everyone had equal time.

Where things started to grow stale was the depiction of this royal family. You have to definitely suspend disbelief in this regard. I don't know if I would've found it so jarring had I not previously read (and LOVED) Red, White & Royal Blue. Quality royalty romance, right there.

I also loathe the martyr card which was deployed here. To add insult to injury, it felt contrived and read as unnecessary drama for drama's sake.

Though I think the story could've used a little more polish overall it was a sweet and feel good ménage romance that doesn't shy away from the sword crossing I crave in these reads.

I don't know if it's a case of right book, right time or what but I adored this story. The romance was a bit rushed, but believable...and the MM scenes featuring Alexander and Roman were actually more detailed than the ones with Delia included. (#Points!) And the HFN-ish ending was a bit Deus Ex Machina but in a way that's actually, kind of plausible and keeps the triad together.

MF isn't my cuppa, but if more of the Heroines were like this one I'd totally read more. (Well, a little.) (Maybe.)

Not one of the better polyamorous books I've read. I didn't believe or feel any of their connections. The writing is nowhere near as good as most of the other books I've read by this author, almost seems amateurish? If mmf is your thing then I highly recommend A million tiny pieces by Nicole Edward's.

UNPRINCELY pulled me in from the beginning with its quick pace and enjoyable characters! Prince Xander was charming and wild but he was slowly being drained under the pressures of being royalty and hiding his bisexuality. Delia was a perfect match for him because she saw underneath the royal facade and treated Xander like a normal person. Plus she was a little bit naughty herself and that was like catnip for Xander and Roman. Add in Xander's former bodyguard who has quietly loved him from afar and it was a great mix.

There were lots of interesting dynamics shown throughout UNPRINCELY. While Xander and Roman have been secretly lusting after each other, they've never acted on anything, and Xander and Delia's relationship was just supposed to be a hookup when they found themselves in bed with Roman as well. Delia and Roman were initially in the relationship because of their connection to Xander and it took them a little while to work out the connection between themselves. None of them really knew how to be a three person couple so they were learning as they went.

I didn't totally love how everything was resolved in the end because I wanted something more for these three where they didn't have to hide their love. I understood the message of compromise and reality being tough but at the same time, I wanted everything for Xander, Delia, and Roman.

Overall, this was a fun polyamorous romance with high heat, insta-love, and minimal angst.

~ ARC provided by the author in exchange for my honest opinion

This was way better than I anticipated. Why you ask?

When Eden Finley offered ARCs, I told her I would love to read it but I was also upfront and told her I wasn’t sure I would like it, because quite frankly m/m/f is not really my genre. She gave me one anyway, which makes her awesome.

Starting this book I tried to go into it without comparing it to any other m/m/f book I read and disliked before, and I think that worked out great. Another thing that made me like this book was definitely Eden Finley’s writing style. There is just something about it that drew me in from the first page and I probably would have finished it in one sitting if I hadn’t decided to start it in a parking lot waiting for my brother.

While I’m still not 100% on board with the whole threesome relationship going on in this book, I liked a lot better than in other books I’ve read. Maybe because I really liked all three of the people involved individually as well. Xander, Roman and Delia were just really likeable characters and while I may have rooted for Xander and Roman to kick Delia out and start a M/M relationship – I hope you can forgive me for that lol – I actually liked those three together. They fit.

I’m actually surprised I liked this book so much and I am going to read the second book in this series – willingly, because I want to ;). One other reason I can think of why I liked this better than other books, is that there weren’t as many sex scenes as I thought there would be. Don’t get me wrong, I had nothing against threesome sex scenes, they are pretty hot. It’s just that in my opinion m/m/f books are usually flotted with them and there is no story aside from it whatsoever. It’s just one sex scene after another after another, you get my drift. Unprincely was different in that regard. I liked it. The three different POVs might have also been a factor. I’m a sucker of various POVs.

Unprincely might be the first m/m/f book I actually enjoyed, so kudos to you Eden Finley. Well done.

This is both praise and a complaint for the ending of this book. It felt too real! 🤣 I read romance for escapism. The ending, while delivering a HEA, was too grounded with all the stipulations put upon the throuple in order for them to be together. However, the author made it clear from the jump that them being together wasn't going to be easy. The characters state at multiple times what they're willing to give up to be together. So my average rating is purely on me. I would love to read a follow-up on them, especially them with children.

What could possibly go wrong with a prince, a body guard and a lovely lady? lol In this book we read about Xander who, although he was not supposed to be, is now next in line for the thrown. Prior to the death of his parents and sister, Alexander was known for being a bad boy and bi-sexual. When he has to grow up and prepare for the thrown his grandfather is not shy about being adamant his boy flings need to stop. Will love prevail all or with his grumpy grandpa get his way?

This book made me think about how those who are royalty really have no privacy. They cannot even go to the bathroom without a guard following them. Or engage in sexual activities without the guards being aware. Not a life I would want to live. I enjoyed the back and forth between Xander and Roman. It opens up your eyes about how hard it must be to try and decipher who is straight and who is gay. Lady Delia brought in the glue, in my opinion, and a little spunk lol

Very instalove with the heroine. We don’t get to see it with the guys as they’ve already known each other for years. It’s very frustrating how so many authors don’t want to write about the falling in love part of romances. The part that also makes you as the reader fall right along with the characters.

Also didn’t care for how they still have to hide. Xander’s decision made zero sense, ultimately. All the rules still apply and they have less resources - one would assume.

Apart from these gripes, I never really got a feel for Delia. She was very two dimensional, almost like an afterthought.

Eden Finley is fast becoming one of my favourite authors!! She had me hooked on her Fake Boyfriend series so I couldn’t wait to read this! And I wasn’t disappointed at all!
The story of a prince, a girl with no desire to be queen, but would do so for him and the bodyguard who has been in love with him for 2 years = a binge worthy read!!
This story had it all... a great story line, drama, scandal, heartbreak, passion and chemistry that will knock your socks off.
I wish I could of kept reading about the three of them! They need a longer story! 😊

This was fun :)
and sexy
and romantic ♡
I enjoyed every page of Xander+Roman+Delia‘s story

This was my first ever poly-romance and I loved the fairytale-vibe.

I moved on to Xander and made sure to savour the last kiss I‘d ever give him. I let him take control and didn‘t ever want to pull away, but I had to. „Thank you for making me feel worthy of a king,“ I whispered.

The death of Xander‘s family was a little superficially dealt with but maybe that was on purpose and it didn’t bother me too much.
Xander’s Nanna was the best ;)

I hope there‘s more Royal Obligation to come!!!

Xander is trying his best to fulfill his responsibilities as crown prince of Ashwick. What happens when he meets daring and beautiful Delia and the two have a searing encounter with Roman-Xander's ex-bodyguard and the only guy he's considered a true friend? Will Xander's need for both of them interfere with his need to do what's right for his country?

A funny, endearing MMF romance that will have you fanning yourself one minute and laughing out loud the next.

The characters lacked chemistry for me and I didn't feel like they were well suited for each other.
It was also very heavy on the insta love.
I also felt like the characters lacked personality for me and just a lot of things were missing for me.
I liked how they brought up how the public would react to their relationship and overall liked how the characters were very aware of what they could lose due to there relationship.

This was a really enjoyable read! Insta-love can be hit or miss for me, but this one was definitely a hit. It’s not a Pulitzer, but it doesn’t need to be — it’s an easy, entertaining read — a good time MMF royal romance!

"For how long?"
"For as long as it works. Xander's talking forever."
"And you're stupid enough to believe that?"

I feel sad for Roman and him hiding his love for the prince (“I couldn’t get too close. Getting comfortable and used to being around him wasn’t a good idea because one day I wouldn’t work for the palace anymore and I’d never see him again.“).
But it becomes really heartbreaking when he sees the prince falling for Delia (“[…] being around someone you can’t have is torture. […] And now, […], I have to sit back and watch as he falls for you— someone who’s perfect for him—and there isn’t anything I can do about it.”).

Delia and the prince are both a bit unhinged which make them perfect for each other. Roman is their anchor as his calm personality grounds them, keeps them safe and protected. They fit each other, but on the other hand, all of them have fiery temperament.

Delia is a strong person with a mind of her own (“I wasn’t going to allow myself to get attached to someone I couldn’t have, and as I stated last night, I was no crown chaser.“) which is quite likable. But she also seems a bit distant at points.
I'm not quite sure how I feel about her knowing about Roman's love for the prince, and despite that starting an affaire with Xander, though (“It wasn’t my place to tell Xander to wake up and realise his ex-bodyguard was in love with him, and as much as I wanted more of last week—all three of us together—it was unfair to ask Roman to put his heart on the line like that when we all knew it would be temporary.“). It makes her seem unkind in a way, although her thoughts are right.

As for the side-characters, Xander‘s grandmother, the queen, is a very wise, calm women. She has my respect.
I‘m not really sure what my opinion on Brad is, but I do dislike Xander's grandfather, the king.

It is really sad that Xander refuses the crown because of his unconventional relationship (at least it feels like that). It should have been made clearer that he really did not want the crown to begin with.

This novel left me with a smile because it was hot, sweet, so full of heartbreak and love, and realistic.

3.5- 4 stars

First of all, I love Finley’s author voice. Something about the tone she conveys, combined with the great dialogue and banter just does it for me. I've read almost all of her books and this one was just as great in that regard.

I loved each of the characters. Delia is a kick a$$ woman, that's smart and sassy. Xander is your utter Prince charming, who starts off a little spoiled, but grows up. Roman is so yummy, the strong, silent, loyal bodyguard.

The premise is great, I loved the plot and how it unwound. There were a couple things that didn’t work for me. I struggled to believe all three of them together, there was some amazing chemistry between two pairs, but just didn't quite connect for me with all of them. Also, after all the buildup to get to a certain moment, then to experience it from the third person’s POV was disappointing.

Overall it was a great story, very fairy tale-like, a bit OTT at times but in ways that worked for the story. I really liked it, and Finley is becoming an auto read for me.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy.

Royal Trouple

Hidden Identity triple point of view
Bisexual prince Xander is forced to give up his scandalous ways after a family tragedy, until a calculating fun loving noblewoman provides a solution. Can Xander find happiness with Delia and their mysteriously met, but awfully familiar boyfriend or will the demands of the crown force them apart?
Well written, well balanced, and well crafted. All the characters served a purpose. Did a great job of setting up the relationship with Roman and Xander. Set up the relationship between Roman and Delia well. Good obstacles were presented. Characters were all really likable.
Feels like an HEA, but if you think about it - it’s not.
It well depicts the power imbalances in these types of relationships and how in the end someone always looses out. Because of the deal made in the end, it will be the one with the most to lose.
I really liked Xander and Roman - was cheering for them.
Ultimately, it felt like Roman and Delia were both in love with Xander and were friends with benefits with each other.Xander remained clueless.

I'm so sorry for giving this book 1 star, but this book is terrible.

After reading Can't Say Goodbye, I was excited to pick this up because I wanted to read more throuple romance by Eden Finley. But this book is such a disappointment for me.

The relationship moved waaaay too fast for my liking. The dynamic between the three people was also very weird. I have read a lot of other polyamory romance before but this is one of the worst I have ever read.

I understand that this book is probably meant to be a no plot just smut book, and I'm usually fine by that. But the plot in this book is just horrible. I'd rather the plot be nonexistent at all than whatever the plot in this book is.

I said it before and I'm going to say it again. Please stop writing books involving the military, national guard, and/or the royal guard. Those are not your forte, Eden, and it's okay. You are good at writing so many other things, but for the love of god, please stop writing books like these.

I absolutely loved Unprincely, I haven't known about Eden Finley for long...but boy am I glad I know about her now!!! I loved all three characters, Xander is a royal prince, he is also bi-sexual. He can't live the life he wants to because he's royal. Roman is part of the Royal Guard and starts out as Xander's bodyguard, he is also keeping the secret that he is in love with Xander, he won't do anything about it, won't reveal how he feels because it would put his job in jeopardy. Delia, oh Delia!! I really liked her, she said what she thought, and went after what, and who she wanted. Now will any of them get what they want, or will protocol win out? This book had my attention from page 1, and I wanted more, so of course I am so looking forward to whatever Eden comes out with next!!! Thank you Eden!!

This was fun, and I definitely enjoyed it! But it was reeeeeally short. Normally I complain books are too long, but this one was just too short. I feel like 300-350 is a sweet spot for romance, but this was only around 200. So I felt like I really didn't have enough time to get into the story or the characters as much as I wanted to.

For me, the most important thing in romance is connecting with the characters and really feeling their chemistry. I didn't feel it as much in this book because the instalove was pretty heavy with the guys and Delia. Then the relationship between Xander and Roman has a backstory we don't know too much about. Now, characters with history can definitely have good chemistry, but I didn't feel it as much in this as I wanted to.

But I definitely enjoyed this anyway and had fun reading it. So I look forward to reading more by Eden Finley!

The bodyguard, the noblewoman and the Prince they love

I read this book through my kindle unlimited subscription.

***Spoilers***

The author did a great job crafting this story of three people who find themselves drawn to each other and eventually in love. They will get a HEA.

Prince Xander is the bisexual Prince whose family is killed. His grandfather is a stickler for rules and doesn't approve of Xander being anything but straight.

Roman has been the prince's bodyguard and in love with him but has had to deny his feelings.

Delia was raised as a noblewoman but longs for a normal life.

When these three are together, it is explosive. It isn't easy, there are some challenges but they work it out. Three is not a crowd in this relationship.

Def going in the re-read pile!

Is anyone else singing “Cinderelliot, Cinderelliot,” or is it just me?

Eden really delivered with this one. I’m a HUGE fan of polyamory stories, but it is a rare author who can so well blend the sex scenes with the budding romances. The chemistry between the 3 of them is off the charts and the love they share is beautiful to watch unfold.

I wouldn’t have minded the story being longer so we could learn more of a backstory on Roman and Delia, and I feel kinda like we missed something important in the “months later” section.

I would definitely read this again! And I’m desperately hoping I’m right in thinking a Quinn/Brad story is next!

Great on every level

This book was awesome times 10! Everyone loves a Cinderella story and this one with two princes and a princess is fantastic.

All the characters are well developed and realistic. The sex scenes are nicely done considering it’s difficult to do them with 3 people, the author did a great job.

I really loved Alexander’s view of love is love, because it hits home to me on many levels. Love is love and these 3 people learn about love in their own way and embrace it. I will happily read more books by this author. Congrats to the team who made this book possible, it came together brilliantly.

I haven’t read many books with poly romances but I write a lot of it in fics, and I’ve enjoyed Eden Finley’s other works, so I gave this one a shot. I ended up enjoying this story - I really enjoyed the royalty background and the fact that it was M/M/F and the dynamics in the relationship. While I think there was sexual chemistry, I didn’t necessarily feel it all the time while I was reading, but I liked the way all three of them worked together and the characters weren’t boring. This was a quick, simple story with minimal conflict, and I liked how it ended.

I'm delving into Eden Finley's back catalogue, after speeding through her Puckboys series with Saxon James. A well-written and balanced menage story is hard to find, and I was pleased with this one. Much less sex than one might assume, with more emotional drama to drive the story. It fully worked as a shorter novel/expanded novella. I'm liking some fictional royal stories as well, and this worked well in that genre. I wish Finley had made this a multiple book series, but it appears at this point, it's a one and done.

This is a pretty cool combination of instalove and slow burn. I think it’s really unfair that I’ve read so much of Eden’s more recent work because I would have rated this 5 stars if it was my introduction to her books. As it is, I still enjoyed it. I love the slow burn more than the instalove but I totally understand the need for a third to complete the relationship.

This is like an MMF precursor to Can’t Say Goodbye and I’m really glad Eden stuck with the throuple relationship design to give me that book! 4.25 stars

OMG loved it. I read it in one day.

At first I didn't connect with Delia, but I did over time.

I loved Roman.
Xander took a little while to grow on me.

I really did enjoy reading it while on holiday. It's the kind of menage book I wanted to write when I started writing. (which is on hold due to life and other things.)

I'm definitely going to check out the authors other works. Really liked it.

This book was great if you are into bisexual MMF. This author knows how to write from each of their perspectives and makes the story a great read. I love the plot and how basically it was a forbidden option for the Prince and how they both came to love the girl. I also cursed a few times when reading thinking...You stupid idiot! Here and there...but over all it was a great read and I can't wait to read another by this author
