Another great volume of the series where we see all the characters gain more confidence in themselves. We see Rui get more confident with his connection to Nana-San, and Towa being more forward with his feelings like how Aya is. I also loved that we got to see Aya interact with more than just Mitsuki and Towa. The character growth I liked the most in this volume was Mitsuki’s because she is realizing more what her words and actions are doing to Towa and Aya. Also, the ending of this was amazing. Mitsuki rewriting her message to Towa with an additional note, and I’m so happy he got to see it. Overall, a great volume and I look forward to what will happen next.

Waiting for Spring or waiting to find out who Mizuki ends up with (though it's pretty obvious she loves Towa)? I do feel for Aya though, you literally cannot dislike him.

We get a change of scenery here and the gang headed to a hot spring.

The main reasoning for this rating is because I am so sick of this love triangle. I don’t how much longer the artist plans to keep this up, but I hope not for much longer.

There’s no hiding that I love Aya with my whole heart. So of course, I’m upset with Mitsuki over her uncaring nature of his feelings. He seriously deserves better. Have you heard that before in my other reviews? You sure did! The same thing is going on. She is still with this back and forth thing between them. They keep saying they won't let the other have her. Why are they full out battling over her when she could just say who she wants to be with?!

Besides the mess of a love triangle, I did enjoy the other characters here. Rui and Ryuji never fail to put a smile on my face.

Still annoyed with Mitsuki stringing them both along but THAT ENDING ACCIDENTAL CONFESSION WAS CUTE

Content: hotspring, sudo overhears hojo talk about Towa and Mitsuki, Christmas cake and wristband confession.

Overall manga review:

A great series with unconventional yet super fun friendships. The character dynamics were great and there were many hilarious and embarrassing moments.

The romance was well-written but never balanced between the two male love interests. The protagonist clearly loved the main love interest only. The second male love interest, who just so happened to be the protagonist’s childhood friend, was extremely pushy and forceful. His every advance was evaded and unwanted yet he still seemed to think it was okay to pursue the protagonist. At one point she outright told him to stop but due to seem weird aggressive competitiveness between the two male love interests, which likened the protagonist to some possession to be fought over or some game to be won, he continued.

The sports element of this manga was refreshing to see and I liked that it was given just as much importance as the romance. I liked that the games weren’t predictable, but in the end the match that mattered between the two male love interests didn’t at all go to plan in a way that made it all feel so unfinished. I’ll admit it got a bit tiresome seeing all the characters take the basketball so seriously like it was life and death to the point that the protagonist was not only understanding but also expecting the main love interest to love basketball more than her.

Aside from some weird and questionable aspects this was a great and enjoyable shojo romance/sports manga!

This is about Mitsuki, a shy girl who starts at a new high school and wants to make new friends. She accidentally befriends the 4 stars of the boys' basketball team, getting especially close to Towa.

This one is more of a 4.5. I really liked the visit at the Hot Springs. Aya-chan is just too competitive. Towa is so much more compassionate and genuinely cares about people.

So I've run out of KU volumes, and there's only 4 volumes left but I really care about these characters so I tempted to buy the last 4.

*pokes Mitsuki* make a choice already, do something.

The stringing both boys along arc is getting overplayed. And I do get it from her character standpoint because whatever path she does choose, this is going to be her first boyfriend so she is just clueless, and it shows. But omg put them both out of their misery.

4 stars though instead of 3 because, the last two pages? Stfu 😍 okay girl, git it.

Okay the tension in this is crazyyyy! But it builds up and explodes at the end, giving us a SPECTACULAR ending. I'm so proud of all these characters. They've undergone so much development alongside the plot. Cannot wait to finish up this series!

Yesss, I’m all here for hot spring scenes. It is surprising there wasn’t any “chance encounter” in towels, but bonus manga made good fun of it so I’m satisfied. They are too precious for that anyway, can’t imagine Mitsuki handling it too well. xD

I always say the same thing but this would be way better without Aya. This volume follows the group as they attend a hot spring to help aya on his healing journey with his leg. He got hurt trying to save mitsuki from a car and he lied to her about it. Towa wants to help as well and aya is reluctant but in the end they all go there. Mitsuki wants aya to be friends with the basketball team but they're rivals and they don't like the other that much. However, they are determined to let that rivalry to court and aya is actually really nice. He brings cream puffs and he talks with the guys. While the girls are enjoying their hot bath, the guys talk. Aya wants to have a conversation with Towa, but it's not about mitsuki, like the others believe. It's about basketball and why he rejected Hojo when he was a kid. They offered him to train with them since they had the best installations and stuff but he refused. His friends saved him and instead of getting into a big team to win, he wanted to grew stronger with them. Aya thinks he's too soft and he probably regrets it now since he has to beat them but Towa doesn't. The other guys are surprised because they would've taken the offer except for one of them. He wanted to be with them and in exchange, he'll go to the college his parents decide. Later on, we see how they want to play cards but aya is not there and neither is mitsuki. After dinner, nana got drunk and had to lay down for a bit with Reina. Towa is determined to find Mitsuki and Rui helps him. She's out there alone, buying some drinks for Nana and Reina. Rui tells her how worried they were and how they thought she was with Aya because he didn't come back from his walk. He's amazed by Aya because he couldn't hang out with the rivals. But on the other hand, he would do it for the girl he loves and pretend to be nice just to whisk her away later. Rui fears thats Aya's plan but mitsuki finds him and he goes with him and tells Rui to go back with the group to play cards. Towa calls and Rui apologizes because it was his fault and now towa has to do something. Mitsuki apologizes to Aya. She wanted him to be friends with the basketball team. Aya thought it was more about his leg and she's concern about that, but he's joking. She wanted to show him that she's not alone anymore like she used to. She wanted him to be proud of her because she found her group now. Aya says he's happy she did, because they are really good guys and he wished they were on the same team to play basketball. However, he can't let Towa have her bu he arrives. He says he's there because the bath is new and he didn't see it before and Aya tends to flaunt when he's with Mitsuki. Aya said Towa left with her earlier and they spend time together so he did the same thing. Towa came because he realized that he can't get jealous anymore. If aya is a big part of mitsuki's life he wants to accept it and handle it properly. Later on, Aya and Towa say goodbye. They won't see each other until the winter tournament. Aya is hanging out with his team. They can't believe he went to the hot spring with the guys but they know he did it because of Mitsuki. However, player 7 was there and they know mitsuki is actually into Towa. Aya says they'll need a miracle to beat them in the winter cup. The girls from the basketball team hear everything and they wonder who is Mitsuki and they are proud of the males team. Soha is there and she's sad because she found out about Towa and Mitsuki. The next day they are in class but Towa is asleep. They choose him as a member of the welcome party comitee and mitsuki joins. It would be so much work because they have to organize a party for the new students to explain them the different clubs and activities. Soda is there and she pretends to be happy about being there with Mitsuki. She wasn't counting on seeing her again but she has to win her way with Towa, who is training really hard.
Christmas is coming and they are all really occupied but mitsuki wants to do something with Reina. She doesn't have much free time because she has hobbies to do but she can help with the bake thing. She wants to bake a cake for the guys and Nana is willing to help. They are all hanging out at nana's apartment but Aya is busy with training and the guys are late. Maybe they won't come. Mitsuki will take the cake the next day and she leaves. She feels lonely and apart from everyone like she used to, but now it's different. The guys are really busy but Towa is there. He knew about the cake and he tried to convince the guys. They were pretty worn out and maybe they're sleeping but he gets a message and they're all coming to try the cake. Towa is early because he wants her to re sign his wristband. The first message faded away and he wants her to do it one more time. He falls asleep immediately against her and she's worried he would get a cold before the tournament. She signs it but then she leaves because she's embarrased. Towa wonder what happened and she said she would get him a new wraistband with a new signature but he thinks she can simply write over it again. He takes the thing away from her and reads her message. It says i like you. Mitsuki is embarrased but towa is happy. He'll win the tournament to lift the no dating ban and she could say everything to him then.

Honestly this volume was entertaining. I said it before and I'll say it again but i don't like aya. I like his relationship with mitsuki in the past and i like how he's always there for her and viceversa. Like nana said, they have a special relationship and she won't find something like that again. But also, she wouldn't find a guy like Towa which makes everything more complicated. However, I'm rooting for towa. In this volume he's more grown up. He did the whole hot spring thing, not for mitsuki or for aya, like she and nana believed. He did it for himself and to try something. I'm really happy with how he's taking decisions now and i love how mitsuki realized how dependant she used to be on Aya. How she doesn't care anymore about what her classmates said about her and towa because if he wants to be friends with her, she's determined to make it work and she won't let other girls ruin it.
The other guys are adorable, they are really funny and their dynamic is great. They all work together as a team and they are always there to help Towa and Mitsuki.
Aya in this volume was decent. He realized he couldn't be friends with towa due to his own feelings with mitsuki but he was nice enough to the other guys and you can tell that he's alone. He's the star of the team but his teammates aren't friends or colleagues. I love how selfless he was but i still don't like him. I know the love triangle will drag on until the end, and i don't want to read that but i'm too invested in the story now so we'll see.

We are up to book 10 out of 14. Still sweet, but I feel frustrated.

We have a main character that doesn't really have a personality, she doesn't really stand up for herself, and she constantly hesitates between too things. She's beige, like pretty much all the sojo's female leads so far (that I have read).

We have two love interests, one that is pretty common and will most likely happen again in her life. Nothing too exciting, except that he's the the basketball team and popular because he's handsome - but the dude really is plain. And then we got the childhood best friend - strong willed, determined, in love since forever... I just don't get the hesitation?

No kisses. Barely flirting. We've been going around in circles since book 2. I think sojo's might be 'not enough' for me. It's very repetitive, the themes are pretty juvenile. I still feel very cringy when the boys talk about ''owning'' their girlfriends.

''I don't want him to own her.'' ???? Alright. Very old school.

Like, what the hell? I guess this is a cultural choc, but still.

The drawings are pretty, though.

At this point, my drive is based on curiosity, who will Mitsuki chose, and why? I hope her motives are good and well-intentionned.

I have been meaning to get back into this manga series and so here we are! I did it!

The love triangle for the plot has been very long and drawn out. Sometimes I feel like I lose a little bit of interest because it is the same old same old thing happening. I am glad that there has been some feelings shown by Mitsuki to one instead of testing out the waters. I’m hoping that since the series is almost finished that there will be more in the next volume.

I liked the change of scenery and that it wasn’t solely focused on basketball. We got to see them hang out and have fun. It was nice.

I am curious to see what will happen next. It seems that Mitsuki really wants to focus on herself and since character development has slowed down a bit, I’m looking forward to see what happens with her.

Overall, a good volume.

The more I read of this series the more bored I become. It isn't bad, it's just dull and the characters are uninspired too. Mitsuki doesn't have much of a personality herself, she basically comprises of working at the café and watching Towa and co play basketball. None of the other characters are very interesting either. The romance is as bland as they come. You know Mitsuki is going to choose Towa so Aya liking her is pretty pointless. Mitsuki clearly likes Towa yet she didn't tell him when he confessed which just led to more pointless chapters of her liking him but not telling him even though he told her he liked her!? She did sort of tell him but not completely at the end of this volume but Mitsuki and Towa are so dull I couldn't give a rat's arse.
The art is ok but all the faces look quite similar.
