Dealing with Drow nobility had never been Khouri Lucifin’s strong suit. Strange, entitled, overwhelming, untrustworthy– There was no end to their unsavory habits, and when one was a street dwelling, half-Drow thief, dealing with them was a risk that didn’t need to be taken. But when Khouri is contacted by a noble wishing to hire him for a mysterious job, he finds the promise of wealth untold too enticing to refuse. There’s just one catch. The job in question doesn’t call for the skills of a thief, but those of an assassin, and the target isn’t just any Drow, but a noble by the name of Lord Navidae Marrowick. Risk follows Khouri when he accepts. Marrowick, he finds, is far harder to kill than first expected, and far more pervasive than his employer had led him to believe. Navidae has everything Khouri doesn’t, and when he catches Khouri mid-assassination, he responds in a way Khouri simply has no defense against. Succumbing to his mark’s charms is easy, but dealing with the fallout is something Khouri never anticipated. Dominance, submission, deception, and violence– Just another day in the Duskriven, and this time Khouri is determined to get what he wants, nobility be damned. Prequel to Epithymy , can be read as a stand alone novel

While the sexual content might not be everyone's cup of tea (like the first book, there are heavy BDSM themes involving pain and bondage), I think everyone will like the story and Khouri's relationship with Navi.

In this book we finally get to see how Khouri and Navi met, and it gives the reader a much needed, deeper look into who Navi is. Which is important if you're like me a thought a little worse of him when he first appears in Epithymy. It's nice to understand who Khouri was before he became the brat we know and love, and to see them meet and get to know each other better while dealing with (clenches fist) Jinkan.

It's also really refreshing to see a lot of consent between them. Navi never crosses a line with Khouri where things aren't ok, and that really describes their relationship and the book itself. They have dom and sub roles but that's not the only thing that defines their personalities.

It feels great to see Khouri and Navi grow closer as well as seeing Jinkan and Macula get their due justice for being assholes. A good book with a great story if you're fine with some BDSM.

I love TD's works (have for awhile!) and Aquiver's absolutely no exception. It really was a wild ride -- TD got to experience my live reactions since I binged the whole book in a single day too. I'm not much of a reader anymore and maintaining focus on longer reads is a struggle, so I think that says a lot about how engrossing this was.

TD's professionalism and attitude is also worth mentioning because this is an author who goes the distance with her readers. She's friendly, willing to explain anything and answer questions about her works, and I've even commissioned personal pieces from her. It's clear as day to see that her ideas are developed, researched, and most importantly: written with love. It's so fun to listen to how passionate she is about her stories and because of her, I was inspired to take up writing too.

I would definitely recommend not just Duskriven but any of her series/works to anyone who enjoys stories with fantasy, romance, and/or LGBTQ+ themes. She puts a lot of herself into her writing and I think that's beautiful.

I was not expecting to devour this book the way that I did. There isn't a lot that seems to capture my attention now a days when it comes to reading, but this book delivers.

Had a chance to meet and talk to the author about her series and the way she sold it had me wanting to read the story for myself. There doesn't seem to be a lot of prose out there about the life and times of Drow society, or if there is, it's usually highly political. To see Drow though in a new way, to care for one another truly while still having that savage edge to them, was nice. The dynamic between Khouri and Navidae was nicely done and well built, without being too over the top of the dominant/submissive dynamic. The BDSM was an interesting point for me, but I found there to be the right amount of it with plot, demanding my attention in knowing what happens next.

I can't wait to delve further into this series a d see what adventures await these loveable Drow and I'm eternally grateful I bought the other two books when I had the chance to.

Aquiver is the prequel to Epithymy, and book 2 in the Duskriven Chronicles series. I was rather charmed to discover that the second book in this series was the story I kept wishing to read while I was reading Epithymy, so I went ahead and picked up the second, and dove right back into the world of the Duskriven. If you’re like me and not such a fan of love triangles, you may, like me, enjoy this book quite a bit more. This one focuses solely on the beginnings of the relationship between Khouri and Navidae, and is a wonderful little romp through the magical, sexual, and political world of the drow.

I'm really bad at reviews but I enjoyed this book.

The author certainly knows how to write some intense scenes. My first thought was that this book would continue where the first one left off, but that was not the case. Instead we take a journey back in time in the chilling and thrilling tale of how Navidae and Khouri meet. This book is filled with the perfect balance of suspenseful and steamy scenes. I can't wait to read what happens in the third and final book.

A fun, erotic, page-turning romp~. While I think the book could benefit from some editing in terms of punctuation and continuity, it's a delightfully dangerous read that doesn't fear to play with the more intense sides of BDSM, particularly sado-masochism and possession kink. I'd recommend this book to those looking for a fun time with adventurous sexuality, and I thank the author for sharing their daring work~.

If you enjoy books with plenty of spice, pain kinks, and beautiful people this is the book for you! While I enjoyed the aforementioned parts of this tale I really had a hard time connecting with the characters. Khouri was cute, and honestly was more fleshed out than Navidae-who pretty much just became obsessed with how pretty Khouri was as did everyone in the story.- The conclusion nice and fitting with the story.

After finishing the first book in this series I was very much ready to dive into the second book. I’m so glad we got more of a look into Khouri and Navi’s relationship and how it all began as well as some really great character development for Khouri. I was hooked from page one and honestly I’m a little sad I can’t just grab the next one right away. I will gladly wait for the next installment. This series has me by the heart and I’ve fallen for these characters and their relationships together. So if you are into fantasy, elves, and LGBTQ+ I highly suggest this series as well as T.D Clouds other books as well.
