Soule is extremely knowledgeable and talented, yet I would have found this book much more useful if it was easier to sift through. I feel like it would be a valuable tool for a new writer or editor, yet for someone like myself, I would have loved to be able to search for information about specific expressions. There are several chapters focusing on specific emotions, yet the majority of the content in those chapters are examples taken from the author’s other books, usually containing paragraphs and paragraphs of reading material. Because there aren’t any concise lists I can refer back to, I don’t see myself using this as an ongoing resource in the future.
