Jim's First Day On a day like any other, Jim Blackmore finds himself at ground zero of the zombie apocalypse. He is forced to run a blood-soaked gauntlet through a city overrun by an insurmountable horde of the dead in a desperate attempt to reach his wife and two small children. As he fights to get home he discovers that the living are just as dangerous as the dead. But does Jim have the strength of will to survive the perilous journey? Karen's First Day Raising kids is tough. Keeping them alive as the zombie apocalypse begins is tougher. But that's exactly what stay-at-home mom Karen needs to fight fiercely to keep her young daughters safe as her husband Jim battles his way across the city, so they can escape the carnage together. On the worst day of her life, Karen finds that she will do anything to protect her family, and that the line between life and death has teeth. Nightfall Jim and Karen Blackmore have discovered that when it comes to the zombie apocalypse, there is no such thing as safety in numbers. Between their separate groups of survivors is a city of the living dead, hungry for flesh and growing in numbers by the minute. As Jim and his newly minted gang of zombie killers fight their way to his family, Karen fortifies her hideout and prepares for an emergency escape she knows is inevitable. As night falls, and their chances of seeing the dawn seem impossible, Jim and Karen's only wish is to reunite as the end of the world begins.

I cannot believe I had not read Joe Zuko before now. I have seen his name so many times and for whatever reason never took the leap. Well, I did it with books 1, 2 & 3 of The Infected and I LOVED EVERY MOMENT!! These stores were well crafted and so very honestly written. The perspective of actual humans facing very difficult circumstances and trying to get home/somewhere safe. Each story was packed with action, loss, grief, humor, sadness, love, tragedy, hope and imagination. I look forward to picking up the next book in this series and to read more by him. You can really feel that he poured himself into his work, and his family too. These are great stories and need to be read. Do yourself a favor and grab them today.
Wow. This was a really good book. Its full of action, drama & suspense. We follow Jim & his group as he tries to get to his wife Karen, his 2 girls & their group. People are picked up along the way & some are lost for good. The zombies aren’t the only thing causing trouble in this story. So many emotions are felt while reading this book & a hit to the heart at the end. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. This is a good book, but don’t take my word for it....READ IT!
Sweet Jesus! What a ride this story is! I am sooo glad I got the boxed set and didn't have to wait for books to drop. This is one fast paced, action packed zompoc book!!!! I love Jim and Karen. Sara, Devon and Frank. Cliff and Tina...Nightfall's ending had my stomach in knots. You HAVE to read this series!
Bloody mahem heaped upon atrocity after atrocity. Ten or more horrific, gut wrenching, mind numbing graphic acts of violence follow one single hope raising event. After enough characters you've come to care for are senselessly & brutally killed off you begin to wonder if anyone will survive. Definitely a blood bath.
I read these three books in 2 days,a great read, action packed thrillathion. If you like gore, screaming, and taunt scary stuff your going to love these books. Now onto book 4!
Way go Joseph!!!!. I loved all three books, thank you for sharing your great writing and story telling with the world. I wish nothing but success for you. Thanks again!
