Bow will share some of the outrageous scenarios she has faced as a mom and how she dealt with the situations and the consequences. Bow will show us that imperfect parenting can often turn out perfect children. The book will be featured prominently on the show.

I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this book since I haven’t watched the show. It is hilariously over the top and the crazy stories really made me appreciate Bow. I think people that already watch the show and know the family a bit better will enjoy the rest family more since it’s a bit harder to get a true sense of their personalities in these short stories. However, I don’t think it’s necessary to have seen the show appreciate the book as it is well written and very engaging. It is a little over the top and the jumping around in the timeline of the characters lives did cause some moments of confusion but overall it’s a ton of fun.

This reviewer has not seen the ABC television show Black*ish but that is not an obstacle to appreciating this book. Putting her African-American family front and center, the fictional character who gets author credit on this title, Bow shares hilarious, personal and realistic experiences that any parent will appreciate. Parents all go through those moments they never thought would happened to them and know about surviving them only to look back and have a laugh. This book provides many laugh out loud moments.

I enjoy the television version, and this book is in keeping with that. Which means it is over-the-top and occasionally ventures into TMI territory. But it provides interesting glimpse into the characters' backgrounds and it's funny.

Fun light reading about Black-ish

I haven’t seen the show so I can’t attest to its accuracy, but this is a fun book. It has advice on parenting that’s probably fairly obvious, but it’s presented with outlandish scenarios (that I’m sure are normal for the show). It’s funny, over the top, and an easy read.

I just read through this book like there was no tomorrow. I received this book at a bookfair in exchange for an honest review. If you’re a fan of the ABC show “Black*ish” than you should give this book a try as it goes through different scenarios that Rainbow (or Bow) has gone through her parenting career. Every chapter is a different story, and everyone was great that I can’t decide which one I liked the best. One this for sure is that I was laughing out loud at some of the events that occurred. Most of them will remind you of the saying, “the stuff kids do/say”
