Have you ever wondered what is significant about being a descendant of Israel? What role Ephraim plays among the tribes of Israel? What covenants the tribe of Ephraim made - and to what blessings their descendents are entitled? This fascinating history of the tribe of Ephraim explores the many facets and responsibilities of being a descendant of Ephraim. In rich detail, history expert Steven Green relates the experiences of the children of Israel from the time of Jacob down to his present-day descendants. Their story is interlaced with scriptures from the standard works and enriched by research from many other valuable sources. Whether you're a scholar, a history buff, or a just a curious descendent of Ephraim, The Tribe of Covenant and Bloodline is the perfect resource to help bring the story of the children of Israel to life for you.
I admire Green's ambition, but the execution was disappointing. He argues that basically every influential and/or powerful/successful historical person had the blood of Ephraim and was successful partly due to this blood in order to fulfill prophecy by building the Kingdom and furthering the final gathering. Not enough evidence and no acknowledgement of the purely speculative nature of his arguments, spiritual or otherwise, made for an unconvincing presentation.
Too much of the history of Ephraim's lineage, not even of the "meat" I wanted, in terms of premortal gifts, promises/contracts and blessings. Still interesting, if you're into historical detail (which unfortunately I don't have the patience for).
It was a lot of info. To me it was a slow read. If you read to much of it in a short period of time you couldn't ponder on the info. I guess just a little to heavy for me.
This was a great overview of world history along with good information on the tribe of Ephraim and the children of Israel. I learned a lot in reading this book. It was very educational.
