River Man

Unbeknownst to high school junior Elizabeth Kaufitz, certain cats have the ability to dance the spaces between space along the gliderumbles and travel from earth to earth to earth. She learns this, though, much to her displeasure... This story was originally published in the August, 1997 issue of Asimov's Science Fiction magazine, was reprinted in the Russian language SF zine Esli in April, 2007, and was very much inspired by the song of the same name by the late British singer/songwriter Nick Drake.
