The At the Heart of Montessori series provides a thorough and easy-to-follow explanation of Maria Montessori's philosophy and educational method for all ages from birth to adolescence. These books will be of special interest to Montessori teachers or trainee teachers, acting as a support to, but not as a substitute for, Montessori teacher training. In addition parents, teachers and others who wish to find out about how children develop and how to help them as they grow, will find the books useful and interesting. The first two books (At the Heart of Montessori 1 and 2) should be read as a foundation as they apply to all age groups. Then choose the book that relates to the age of choice. At the Heart of Montessori series provides a thorough and easy-to-follow explanation of Maria Montessori's philosophy and educational method for all ages from birth to adolescence.

The second part of this series, Core Principles in Action was another quick and informative read. Geared more toward a Montessori classroom than homeschooling or parenting, I would definitely recommend the read to any and every educator truly interested in helping children develop into their full potential. There was still a lot of great information and practical advice I'm sure I will try and incorporate into my own plans, as well.
Also want to note, that although it's likely more timing happenstance than catalytic, for us, this reading just might end up being a sort of pivot point in our education journey.
These concepts align so naturally with what I've observed in my own experience, and yet they are so often glaringly missing - perhaps even sometimes purposefully excluded - in the current broader educational system of today.

A short (only 115 pages!), readable (though not especially engaging) introduction to the thought of Dr. Maria Montessori and the principles that shape Montessori education and how they are enacted practically.
Very helpful to understand what my children experience. The emphasis is on the environment and self learning. Talked about the tension between shaping children to be community focused (child led meetings, shared property, etc.) while being independent.
Helpful book, though definitely is for training teachers more so than interested parents.
