A BRAND NEW DAY…AGAIN
Marvel Comics is about to reboot its titles (again!) and they took the chance with the FCBD (Free Comic Book Day) to publish a free issue showing a glimpse about what will happen in the pages of the Amazing Spider-Man title…
…Peter Parker is looking for a new apartment in New York, but he doesn’t have much money, so he’s joining economic efforts with Randy Robertson (son of good ol’ Robbie Robertson), but even with that bucks’ boost, it wasn’t an easy task to find an acceptable apartment (without much rats of trash around)…
…when obviously a villain team (Boomerang, Rhino, the female Electro and a new Big Wheel, cross roads with Peter and of course, power and responsibility calls, so he needs to deal with these evil bunch before some innocent bystander would get hurt…
…and guess what? Wilson Fisk is the new Mayor of New York! (I’m not that surprised is I remember who is the current President, geez), but suprisingly, good ol’ Fisk doesn’t try to arrest that public menace of Spidey, but even thank him for facing the criminals…
…but of course, he’s Kingpin alright, so it’s no wonder that soon we’ll get the full picture of his new game plan of taking the City Hall through votes.
ROAD TO INFINITY COUNTDOWN
Everything is Infinity!!!
It’s not rare that we have an Infinity event to come, since Marvel even from the days (now ten years ago) when Iron Man 1 was on theaters, it’s normal that comic books are getting adjusted to fit with the mood on the latest theatrical films, so…
…we have a good guide of what the heck happened with your favorite space team, the Guardians of the Galaxy and how their journey has lead them to meet (once again) the Inifinity Stones.
Where maybe, just maybe, we can especulate if some stuff that it’s explained there, it can be useful to guess about what could happen with certain character in the next Avengers 4.
This was okay. It had some funny moments, Nick Spencer gets a lot of Peter's voice right, and I loved the Art. However, the storyline has been there and done that feeling X100. I really just wish they'd take Spider-man to new places, because this is getting a little too boring. I also think the humor is a little too deadpool at times. Either way I'll give it two full arcs because love Ottley and Nick work most of the time.
Peter Parker is really funny we have all witnessed it in the film's but punching jokes in almost every line and good ones is something that keeps the reader entertained throughout.
This FCBD ((Free Comic Book Day) Issue for 2018 brings us 2 stories, Spider-man and Guardians of the Galaxy. Peter Parker and his best friend Rob find a new apartment in New York with a surprise new roommate. The Guardians are on a quest to find an Infinity Stone, The layout for this story is unique and looks great. Booth stories are well written, well paced and leave you wanting more.
I'm really into superhero movies, especially the ones Marvel comes out with. I love how they take me to a world where I feel thrilled and like being powerful. Seeing the heroes on the big screen sometimes makes me feel like I've run for miles. It literally gives me adrenaline.
So I do want to get into comics, I think? They seem really cool, but also a little hard to understand. There's all this references and throwbacks to other issues and there's just a lot to choose from. Where do you start? This Free Comic Book Day issue is kind of a good start. It features two of my favorite superhero franchises (moviewise). It certaintely didn't dissapoint, but I have to say reading this comic is like a whirlwind. You just have to go with the flow, but it really moves very fast. There's a lot of villians I don't recognize and the ones I have really unexpected developments.
That being said, I did enjoy it. Especially the Spider-Man comic. Peter was funny and brought a smile to my face. The story was quick but had some good moments. It did make me want to read more.
I'm not sure about the Guardians of the Galaxy bit. It's sort of a summary of all the things that happened, but it's just so much that it lost me. My eyes flew over the words and pictures, but it was just me trying to get through it. I do like that Starlord has the same references and vibe as the movies.
Reading this was fun, but a little overwhelming. I'm really not sure if I should just pick up a Marvel comic up. Where do you start if this all referenes other stuff I haven't read? I still have an Avengers comic for Free Comic Book Day laying around, but I think I'll go for my other free comics first...
Good to go story from Spiderman. My favourite of all time since I was so young. Always amazes me. And... For Gaurdian of Galaxy, storyline is good and here they started to save the Infinity Stones. Proving their worth of being Gaurdians..
I enjoy these FCBD issues to get to know some familiar and some new characters, this was the time for the familiar ones, two stories the first one a prequel to the new spider man stories and then a small Guardians of the Galaxy story setting up another run. Tis was nice as well.
I have always loved comics, and I hope always to love them. Even though I grew up reading local Indian comics like Raj Comics, Diamond Comics, or even Manoj Comics, now's the time to catch up on international and classic comics and Graphic novels. I am on my quest to read as many comics as I can. I love comics to bits, may the comics never leave my side. I loved reading this and love reading more, you should also read what you love and then just Keep on Reading.
Refreshing happy to have a comic for free downloaded for soul purpose to keep my cousin busy but eventually I fell for it.. old crave is back now I am pirate again for heart bottom
Enjoyed it too cuz I beged borrowed and finally stealed from cousin
Het eerste deel over Spider-Man was wel grappig en begreep ik nog, maar de tweede helft over Guardians of The Galaxy was echt het vaagste ooit. Iets met stenen die ze zochten???
Spidey stays true to who hee is. Knee slapping jokes while taking out classic villains. Some good twists along the way keep it interesting and feeling new
Peter and Randy are looking for an apartment and it doesn't seem to be going well. Peter stops some super-villains: Electro, Rhino, Boomerang, and new Big Wheel and they finally find an apartment. Boomerang is Randy and Peter's new roommate.
Nice to see Peter and Randy are finding an apartment. Annoying that the only cheap ones have garbage in front of them or something. Cool that Peter was able to stop the bad guys. Wonder what he will do with Boomerang as his new roommate.
I got this one late at Halloween ComicFest, left over from Free Comic Book Day. I hadn't read Amazing Spider-Man, though, so it was new to me. I have been hearing about some of the story details, so the ending wasn't particularly surprising, but it was a solid book, throughout. The art is well done, and Peter's voice is, as well (I particularly liked the bit about wheatcakes). It is a bit of a change, since the last time I read Spider-Man, he was an international CEO, but I can see why that wasn't particularly relatable, and they would want to change it back. The second half sort of goes over what has been happening in Guardians of the Galaxy, which I also haven't been following, so it was a decent catch-up, and has me a bit more interested to read more of that in the future. I suppose if I had realized it was an older issue as I was picking it, I might have gotten something else, but just the same, I enjoyed this book.
The voices are good, the humor is good, but this really feels like a step back. It feels like a reset in a bad way, like we are just stuck in the past. Development is a good thing, I hope we don’t completely disregard it.
I hate it when a preview contain some other stories previews too. Like its only about 20 pages and I'm here to check whether it's seems interesting. But you take half of it for another preview. Come on.
