The Brave and the Wicked is the 1st one from the series , Dark Mysteries of Paranormal saga. This story mainly revolves around Jade. Jade receives a box from her dying mother, Jenifer.,a powerful witch. This box locks a dark secret into itself.
The story telling is amazing. If you like reading horror books give it a try

The Brave and the Wicked is Volume 1 of the Dark Mysteries of the Paranormal
Saga by Brandon Clarke.
What I like about this book is that it's scary, yet doesn't make me want to sleep with the lights on at night.
The overall writing could be kicked up a notch while phrasing certain sentences and using different words, but the language is simplistic and easy enough to power through in one sitting.
The manuscript I got has a few errors here and there but nothing that can't be overlooked.
There are a lot of characters but compared to few other books I've read, it wasn't too hard to keep up with who's who because their plots are distinguishable.
Jade, who's the main protagonist, is a witch who's only been practicing for a short time so she has much to learn to defeat the Demon.
However, what I didn't like is some of the decisions she took and it made me want to pull my hair out. It's obviously the wrong the decision so why do did she have to do things that make me mad. 😭
In the beginning I had high hopes for her, but with every step I just kept thinking, WHY???
(Yeah I know without her decisions we wouldn't have this story, but I have the right to be dramatic.)
The ending gave me the creeps, it was expected but still creepy and I loved it.

‘The Brave and The Wicked’ by Brandon Clarke is a book that revolves around Jade Summers. Jade Summer’s mother Jennifer is suffering from cancer and her condition was deteriorating each day. Jennifer is a powerful witch and there is a dark secret that she has been protecting from Jade’s Uncle Fred. Jennifer passes on the information related to this dark secret and tells her to protect it and that no one gets to know about it or gets near it. What is this dark secret that is there in the family? Will Fred try to get his hands on this secret? To know more read ‘The Brave and The Wicked’.
The plot is gripping and full of paranormal elements. The story picked up pace when Jade learns that she is a witch and the readers will be hooked to throughout the book. The mystery element is maintained throughout the book which will keep the readers curious to know what will happen next.
The characters are well developed and I liked how Jade gives her everything and is brave throughout the story to save this dark secret. It was very emotional to see Jennifer suffering but at the same time she was worried about this secret and telling about it to Jade.
Language is simple and lucid and the narration is done excellently. The cover page of the book is scary. The title of the book is also apt to the plot of the book.
Overall, it was a very good read and horror lovers will surely love to read this book.

The line as stated above reflects a great extent the horrors of life at large and reflects the secrets that remain obscured for the time being, but surreptitiously they wait to be unleashed only to wreak havoc and the same tends to remain the major focal point of the book at hand.
Delving further, the length of the book is 292 pages and has been divided into 20 chapters. The first chapter of the book is titled “Saying Goodbye” which as per the title of the chapter itself connotes the departure of the mother of Jade Summers from the mortal world and this has hit her like a brick on the face as she has been emotionally devastated because of the same, however comforting hands remain around her but to no avail and similarly a revelation comes from the reader in the form of Jade Summers mother Jennifer being a witch herself. The second chapter titled “Spells and Things” features Jade’s return to Jenifer’s house to ensure uniformity of life in the form of the bills being paid etc. In the course of the same, she gets reminded of her mother’s nature in the form of letters and acquaintances including Dorian who considered Jennifer to be a lady of immaculate nature. The third chapter of the book titled “Sacrificial Lamb” tends to be the turning point for the reader as here it was revealed by Jennifer’s spirit to Jade that she must prepare for what awaits her and it was a box which held a demon whose capabilities epitomized nefariousness. This chapter also featured an initial quest between Jade’s Uncle Fred and Grayson and the reason was to retrieve the box which held the demon and for the same the medium used was Reggie Campbell whose relevance is also well presented throughout the storyline.
It must be noted that the book features all the required elements of horror fiction which is inclusive of gripping and jaw-dropping moments as well. In addition to the same, the writing style is very easy to surmise and the aspects of witchcraft and hidden arts have all been quite well interwoven with each other throughout the whole book.

This is the story of Jade who is heartbroken due to the death of her parents. She was struggling from the pain of loosing her family that is when she got to know that she has to fight an inhuman creature to save the existence of life on earth.

If that demon ever comes into this dimension, life would cease to exist.
➡️ First of all hats off to the author for incorporating all the twist and turns and other horrifying elements in this book yet keeping the storyline straightforward. It was not at all difficult to read or understand. Everything was on point right from development of character to description of plot. It has all the horror elements and adventurous twists to keep you seated untill you are done with the whole book but not that horror that you can't sleep. It was an enjoyable read for me and can't wait to read the second book in series.

The Brave and the Wicked by Brandon Clarke is the book one in the Dark Mysteries of the Paranormal Saga. This novel is power pack of horror, supernatural, and magical themes – all into one. Staged against Salem, the story starts with Jennifer – a witch with magic – she is about to die due to cancer. Do witches die of diseases like cancer? There is more in the inside story?
After her death, Jade leads the story as a protagonist. Who is she? She too is a witch and hardly knows about her powers. Well, she is the daughter of Jennifer. But before Jennifer could die, she passes one responsibility to Jade – to protect a box – it has a monster inside it.
Fred, brother of Jennifer, is lusting after that box like anything. He wants to grab it at any cost. Jade and her boyfriend Grayson give a tough fight to Fred but to no avail. He runs off with the box. What’s in the box? Of course there is a monster and Fred wants to master him for his personal benefit. But things turn out sour for him. Fred lands up being framed in a sanguinary painting and the monster of the box causes havoc on the people of Salem. Humans and witches all unite to fight? But in that process, the entire responsibility falls on Jade – will she be able to defend herself and save people from that monster? How she can do that fills the rest of the narration.
Other than Jade, Grayson, and Fred, there are some characters that run here and there in line with the overall plot. 💜 A dead mother, a lot of family secrets, can Jade take all of this all by herself? If you are someone who enjoys a blend of supernatural elements and magical themes, this book is a treat for you. It's one of those books which got me from the very beginning, things felt a bit shallow initially but as the story takes different turns, it got me there and I just couldn't keep it down until the last page. Jade Summers, unfortunately loses her mother Jennifer due to cancer, but this is not it, life isn't all about that, it becomes dark and more creepy when she reveals a lot secrets that changes her life forever. I feel the book is a blend of many themes, at times it turns towards fantasy, at times it seems like a mystery but to be honest I enjoyed how it was built, I loved how the story is built, it gets dark and intense after each chapter.
Is it scary? Yes, it's scary but it's intresting kinda scary, it's the mysterious kinda scary, and I loved the way things were described. The plot is very gripping, the characters were gradually built, even though a lot of characters are revealed in the very beginning but they are built slowly and I loved how they grow, I loved the twists and turns. It was an engaging read because of the plotline and every chapter brings something new and fresh, it ends with a cliffhanger. A character I liked for no reason is Grayson, at times I felt sorry for Jade but loved how she take the story by storm.

The book is much more than the blurb or cover depicts, it's spine chilling and definitely a read that will not leave you until you are done, the demonic theme got me from the very beginning, yeah it's one of those books that could be turned into a movie! Go for it, definitely a worthy dark tale.

The brave and the wicked is the first book by the author Brandon Clarke that I've read. This is Volume 1 in the "Dark mysteries of the paranormal Saga". This is the story about a powerful and confident witch Jennifer(who was battling with cancer) and her daughter Jade. During her last days, Jennifer told her daughter about an ancient box that needs to be protected after her and she especially mentioned that don't let it be in the hands of uncle Fred.
Jade Summers, the daughter of Jennifer has no parent now. Her boyfriend Grayson support her in her journey. Her uncle Fred was a very rich man but his intentions weren't that good. He had a fight with Jennifer over an ancient box earlier. What is there in the ancient box? What was Fred's intention's behind getting this box.
This book is full of paranormal elements. The story got quite interesting when Jade got to know that she is a witch. The twists and turns in the story will keep you hooked. It is really an interesting story that kept me going till the end. The plot of the story is built nicely. I am gonna read the sequel of this now as I couldn't wait at all.

Jade was much angry after hearing this because she had already lost one parent earlier. Jade's lover Grayson Sky was trying to calm her.
Jade's mother Jennifer is a powerful witch but cancer is something that can't be beaten by magic. Before her death, Jennifer had given a very important responsibility to Jade. She asked her to be the guardian of the box that is lying in the hidden area of house. She even told Jade that don't let anyone to open that box because if it will open many people will die. Read the story to know what will happen ahead.

The language of the book is simple and the narration is smooth so I finished this book in a single sitting. I love reading book series instead of reading a standalone. Recently I got my hands on 'Dark mysteries of the paranormal Saga'. The brave and the wicked is the first book of this series.
The protagonist of a story is a sweet girl Jade Summers who love her witch mother Jennifer a lot. Once her mother was powerful and confident witch but over time, cancer had made her weak and soon she will die. Before leaving the world, she handed over a big job to Jade.
She made Jade a guardian of an ancient box in which a monster was locked by their ancestors. If the monster will come out in any way, then there will be mass deaths. Jade's uncle Fred was behind this box. Will he be able to get hands on this box? If yes, what he gonna do with it?

The book name “The Brave and The Wicked” is an awesome book written by Brandon Clarke. The book belongs to the horror genre. The story is about a beautiful city named Salem. The story consists of Jade the main female character of the story with his boyfriend Grayson. Jade a witch fights against a demon in which Grayson a simple human helps her at every step of her life. Other than that there are many characters like Jaxx, Cadance, Sara. Who helped Jade to fight the Demon.
If I talk about the storyline, it’s very smooth and not very bumpy at all. Sometimes, the character creation seems in a glitch but that can be neglected if they perform better in the latter section of the story. The story always moves in a serious section but never justifies its genre.
I would recommend the book to all those who want to change their reading genre. If you are reading romance or humor and trying to turn towards horror, then this is a perfect book for you.

This book scared the shit out of me! Jade is a witch who lost her mom to cancer, she loved her mom to death and after losing her Jade's world was completely revamped- a lot of family secrets unfolds and Jade has to take a lot of important decisions which I think she took for a toss! The story gets creepy and more scary by the evil sadistic creature that was trapped inside an ancient box.

Tho I'm not a fan of the cover, I found it creepy not scary, still I'm super impressed with the book! The book did complete justice to the themes. I really think the book build through every page turned. I didn't liked it that much in the beginning but I was hooked to it after page 34. I love how this book is not restricted to just one theme- there's fantasy, there's mystery, there's paranormal and also drama. Its definitely not some subtle read, there's a lot going in there!

Jade is a witch who lost her mom to cancer, she loved her mom to death and after losing her Jade's world was completely revamped- a lot of family secrets unfolds and Jade has to take a lot of important decisions which I think she took for a toss! The story gets creepy and more scary by the evil sadistic creature that was trapped inside an ancient box.

Tho I'm not a fan of the cover, I found it creepy not scary, still I'm super impressed with the book! The book did complete justice to the themes. I really think the book build through every page turned. I didn't liked it that much in the beginning but I was hooked to it after page 34. I love how this book is not restricted to just one theme- there's fantasy, there's mystery, there's paranormal and also drama. Its definitely not some subtle read, there's a lot going in there!

The Brave and The Wicked by Brandon Clarke is an engrossing and engaging read. I found myself lost in this amazing world of magic and mystery. This was an unusual and fascinating read. I loved all the characters and it was very interesting to learn about witches. The best authors are able to develop characters who immediately elicit sympathy, empathy, or the opposite, and Brandon Clarke must be listed among this group of writers. Her story premise is unique yet familiar in its execution and use of “norms” associated with supernatural creatures and magic. An exciting and fun reading experience awaits readers of all genres in The Brave and The Wicked.
