“I still hear the lingering sound of their voices. They pulse around me, drawing me upwards and out of the dark. A deep rumbling bass. A level, steady baritone. A tenor rippling above them both. I am no longer afraid. I follow the sound, the light, because the darkness isn’t who they are, not really. Not anymore.”
Fern’s decision changed everything. Now she must live with the consequences not only affecting her, but the people she loves, even the ones who find it hard to love her in return. Trapped in the Shadowlands, Fern must put her trust in the Angels of Death and adapt to her new surroundings. When a disturbing message is delivered about her mother, Fern defies the trio and take matters into her own hands.
Fern’s Wings is the second book of Fern’s trilogy and continues the Sisters of Hex story. To get a full picture of the overarching storyline you might wish to read Accacia's trilogy first.
The Sisters of Hex series - five sisters, five clans, one curse and a whole host of paranormal creatures.
OUT NOW: 1st Trilogy - Sisters of Hex: Accacia #1 Accacia's Curse #2 Accacia's Blood #3 Accacia's Bite
I thought I knew what to expect after reading Accacia's trilogy but having read Fern's Decision and now this book, I will admit that Bea Paige's imagination and creativity is second to none. Accacia connected to each of her three men in different ways and I thought that Fern would connect in the same ways to each of hers but I was so wrong. It is impossible to describe without giving away spoilers so you'll have to read all the books to find out for yourself. This book picks up seamlessly from the end of Fern's Decision and Fern is undergoing a change that no-one saw coming. She is struggling physically to adapt while her angels don't know what's hit them. All four have hidden depths and strengths and are so complex that the more you read of them, the more you are caught up in their emotions, feelings and struggles. I was so entranced by them, watching them all trying to find their way, dealing with their new reality. We are also treated to cameos from familiar characters, interacting with Fern and her men, thus starting to bring together the lost sisters, edging the overall story arc forward. Mihr is no longer the strong silent type, his warmth shines through, and his calmness is just what is needed to balance the opposites that are Gabe and Ether. Gabe is a tortured soul, battling with the dark within him after a thousand years of subverting his natural instincts, just like all the angels of Clan Vitae. He is particularly affected and it is evident that he is trying not to lose himself. Fern is the shining light to his darkness and she has been the one thing keeping him going for the many years since he first saw her. Ether is absolutely what I hoped he would be, a tormented alpha male who needs a strong partner to challenge him and keep him in line, but one who will love him too. He needs Fern as much as Gabe and Mihr do. Fern is just what each angel needs. She is becoming stronger, mentally and physically, and more confident in the affections her angels have for her. She is becoming a leader, a partner for each of them. None of the Angels ever thought that they would be able to love and be loved due to their curse and Fern is their own personal miracle. I love the way Fern feels a different sensation from each angel, their ice, warmth and fire flowing through her, both when she touches them and through the mental bond she shares with each of them. Bea's writing is so elegant. Every word is perfectly placed, playing its part in creating a wonderful story. Every one of her words counts. She bestows her characters with such passion and compassion that you can't stop thinking about them, long after the last page has been read and the tears have been wiped away. Yet again she has put me through the wringer with her beautiful words, left me speechless and brought me to tears. She truly has a wonderful gift and I'm so grateful that I found her.
*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
Book two in the amazing Sisters of Hex: Fern Trilogy and what great addition it is too. Fern finally traveled to the Shadowlands only to find herself stuck there for awhile. On the plus side this gives her a chance to adapt to the changes in her while getting to know her men a little better. Things are going great until a message arrives about Fern's mother which leads to a great plot twist that will change things forever. I am loving the arcing story line and how the characters all pop up in the other stories. I cannot wait to read the stories for the other ladies at a later date. I highly recommend this trilogy to fans of the genre. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
Fern is alive. Thanks to the Harmonious bond, Fern has Awoken, an angel, the lost daughter of Clan Vitae. Recovering in a temple in the Shadowlands, Fern must adapt to her new life, her new body, her new circumstances. She adapts more quickly than expected but there are still unknowns. Is Fern a new type of Angel? Is she still an Angel of death or does she bring hope? She has her three Angels of Death to help her. The Angel of her soul, Gabe, the Angel of her body, Muir, and the Angel of her mind, Ether. The bond is strong between the group and can be clearly felt but that doesn't make everything easy. There's jealousy, misunderstandings, too many unspoken thoughts and feelings. It's complicated. There's also the fact that she is one of the five sisters of the prophecy. What does that mean for her, for them?
Fern's Wings is the second of Fern's books and part of the Sisters of Hex series. This is a book of growth, of stumbles. These may be angels but they are very human. Lots of mistakes are made along the way. I like Fern. Her strength, her determination, and her heart all make for a lovely MC. Her character growth has been amazing. I have mixed feelings for her Angels. I adore Gabe. His fight against his darkness, his overwhelming love for Fern, his pure happiness finally getting her, even his jealousy makes me love him. Muir is great. I like his layers. Always sweet and kind but with a bit of naughty kink! However, I am not a fan of Ether. I've tried. He's not honest, he's not open. He keeps secrets when there is no need to. I don't trust him. I don't like the way he is with or about Tillan. I am not a fan of Tillan either but I blame Ether. I'm hopeful that I can grow to like him in Fern's final book but right now, he's not for me.
The first part of this book was all about change. Fern's metamorphosis, her relationship with the angels. The final part of this book was all action and excitement. The battle lines started coming together. Sisters uniting, foes being faced. The epilogue sets the stage for Fern's final book. Should be quite the adventure!
After enjoying Accacia’s series , I couldn’t wait to dive into Fern’s story. As the brief glimpse we got into her story. I knew this one would be even tougher to read then Accacia’s. Fern is a midwife and she is a bringer of life, knowing that she can hear death coming is something of a curse. If anything it made her more vulnerable given her situation. She haunted by those voices that bring her the news of impending death. She lived with it for so unaware of her truth. Fern’s Decision is the awakening of sorts when her past and present collides when her angels make themselves know and reveal the truth behind the voices. Gabe, Ether and Mihr her angels have come to rescue her and offer her an chance to find about the real Fern. This book explore whether she will follow her heart or her brain. The guys are dreamboats obviously and they know how to push her buttons physically. Yet there is a deeper reason as well, one that over the course of this book becomes more obvious . Fern’s Decision kicks of things very different. Whilst the beginning focus more on Fern and her situation. It worked well given how things played out and we quickly whisked into Ever Vale and learnt about the angels. Their stories were expected but there was still the element of surprised that allowed readers to see that Fern’s story isn’t going to be with out it’s fair share of emotions. She an interesting characters, her abilities only enhance her and it’s going to be asset. I love the connection Paige has done without making it necessary to read the previous trilogy. Fern’s Decision is a blockbuster of open and will allow every reader to have an experience of this crazy world of Ever Vale. Things may have not changed, but it’s more brilliant and scarer than ever.
"So, I ask you all. Are you ready to fight back? Are you ready to go to war?" - Fern
Another great read from Bea Paige! Fern's Wings picks up right where we left off at Fern's Decision, with Fern having woken up from her transition into a member of Clan Vitae. But just what does this mean for Fern, and what are the consequences of her wings being different?
This book truly pulls at the heart strings, with so many mental obstacles to overcome between Fern, Ether, Mihr and Gabe. Fern's Wings brings us so much, with the bond between each of the men growing, learning to accept her new fate, and continuing to fight against the evil that has befallen Ever Vale at the hands of Queen Adrielle. While the ending of this book gives us some closure, and a few answers, there are still so many questions left out there - including the big one about how each of the Five Sisters will overcome the curse. What can we expect from Fern's Flight? Only time will tell!
**I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author for review consideration**
Book 2 of Fern’s trilogy cemented my feelings that I connect more with Fern than I did Accacia. Bea is able to make me feel so much for her and in some respects want to be her haha. To have a character who has a disability thrive despite it and find someone who connects with her (Mihr in this case), hits me hard in the feels. I may not be deaf, but I am almost legally blind and I connected with some of her feelings and thoughts in this series because of it.
In Book 2, we get to experience with Fern what its like to have WINGS! She doesn’t have an easy go of it in the beginning, but is able to learn and grow with the help of her guys. We get to see some of the characters walls come down inch by inch, some making breakthroughs, while others are a tougher nut to crack. Loved the connection Fern made with each of the guys and daaaang those steamy scenes *fans self*. Keep ‘em coming Bea!!
I loved the tie in with the overall Sisters of Hex series and am super intrigued with Danni’s story and cant wait to read hers next year. I cant wait to learn more about the big elephant in the room (its going to be so hot, I AM SO EXCITED!!) and to see Mihr finally get his time with Fern. I am happy and sad for Book 3 because I like need it right now, but I also don’t want it to be over with. I like that we have 3 more trilogies after this and they will continue to overlap and have more cameos from the other sisters and their harems.
So overall, loved this one more than Fern’s Decision (because of the growth and connections within the harem, the mystery and amazingness of Utero, and the pick up of the story with Abanthe). You will not be disappointed in this book, its my favorite of the Sisters of Hex so far ❤️.
Wow what a fantastic second book for Fern and her angels! Fern becomes a true badass in this book and I loved her confidence in herself as the books goes! And wow what about those scenes with her angels! Gabe is very intense in this book and it is great to read the fun side of him as well, and Ether it is great to see his walls falling and him accepting Fern and accepting he lives her. Then there is Mihr (still my favourite) is is stunning in this book..do supportive of Fern and the other two angels but I just want him to get his alone time too 😉! This book had me absolutely captivated from page one until the very ending and left me yelling for book three immediately! I loved the connection to the other missing daughters in this book and to catch a glimpse at some of them as well. This book is full of action, power, wings and love. Highly recommended series by this very talented author.
I loved reading Accacia's Trilogy and the first book in Fern's Trilogy, Fern's Decision was amazing, also hearbreaking and mmade feel ALL the feelings! Fern was a character you couldn't help but love, she is am amazing strong character that has her flaws and doubts. Still human but has an amazing big heart. She was also extremely easy to like character and relate to. She has a disability, being deaf but doesn't let it define her. I am par deaf and the way she is written is just spot on!
But that's not all! She got her wings at the end of the last book and now she has to learn to use them and not just that but her body has to physically adapt to them! We also get to know the guys more and we learn there is a lot more to Mihr, Gabe and Ether than we thought. Things are a lot deeper and Fern's role will come more clear. Can she take hold of her destiny?
Wow 😮 wow 😯 wow 😲 what a great book 📖 it took me 3 hrs to read and it only took that amount of time because I had to cook dinner in between reading 😊 Fern is a strong , courageous , kind , beautiful angel 👼 with all she has been through she deserves her happiness with her gorgeous angel 👼 men ...and who wouldn’t they are swoon worthy , sexy and handsome in my head they are tall, great muscles 💪 and physic and a whole lot of sexiness 😍❤️😘 This book 📖 is well written , the book runs fluidly and you can pick up we’re you left in book 📖 1 , it’s beautifully written and you can see how much love and passion Bea Paige has put into this book 📖 can’t wait for it continue ...Big high five ✋🏻 and a 👍 up from me love love love it 😍😊
Bea Paige does it again with the second book in the Fern series, book five of the Sisters of Hex series. Fern's Wings picks up where the events of Fern's Decision ends and flows seamlessly from one book to another. Fern awakens with a set of blue wings, and though she is startled and confused, she has her guys to help and support her through the trials that they face. The Harmonious bond among Fern, Ether, Mihr, and Gabe strengthens them as they grow together and a difficult choice brings unexpected heartache and joy. I love the relationships between Fern and her guys. They have their ups and downs, but learn and grow from each other. Bea Paige draws you into her world with realistic characters and leaves you wanting to know what happens next.
Fern's wings is the second book in Bea Paige's FERN trilogy.
The book picks up right were the first one left off, with the three angels trying to save Fern's life. When their singing not only saves her but also changes her and gives her wings, Fern has to adapt to a new life. While struggling to wear her new wings and trying not to get scare Fern also manages to strengthen the harmonius bond with her three angels. But with Abanthe, the creature that chased them and tried to kill them still going after them and the Queen still alive and going madder will Fern be able to shoulder it all or will she crumble under the pressure?
This book was really good, I just wish we would've seen Gabe and ether talk about the elephant in the room after Fern's slip up.
*voluntarily and honestly reviewed the ARC I received from the author*
It's about a 3.5 for me. I really liked that Fern and the guys connected more. It started off great for me then got a little dramatic. I feel like I should be sympathizing with Fern and everything she goes through, because it is a lot for a deaf human to go through, but at the same time, it kinda makes my chest ache with the way she lets it all out. Personally, it was a little much, but I know it had to happen in order for her to really feel like they love her. A few things were eh but at other times, it was really good. There seems to be a pattern for me so if it stays the same, I feel like I'll really like the third book.
In this story, we see the continuation of Fern's decision and the Sisters of Hex storyline.
Fern goes under a change that doesn't just affect her, but everyone she cares about as well.
We see hidden depths within the characters that draw us to them. That make us seem them for who they really are, not just what they show others.
There isn't much to be said about this book because it speaks for itself. It is beautifully written. The words hit you right in the feels and you are left with this gaping hole in your heart when it is finished.
If you haven't started the Sisters of Hex series, I highly suggest you pick them up. They are fun, fast reads and really give you a great storyline. You will not be disappointed whatsoever if you dive into them.
This story is amazing. Fern is such a strong MC and her angels are awesome. My favorite is still Mihr, Gabe is the troubled, possessive dark one and I really love him too. But the one that surprised me the most is Ether, I'm glad that we got to learn more about each guy and Clan Vitale. i really love how each smaller series is tying into each other and we are learning each of the Hex sisters individually and how they are slowly coming together. I can't wait to see what happens now that the clans are coming together as they find their lost daughters. I can't wait to read what happens in Fern's Flight and all the following Sisters of Hex books.
“I am connected...to all of them, in a way that surpasses physical touch, sight and sound.” The story in volume two of Fern’s trilogy explores this connection with her three angels as she trains with them to master her body and the enormous change its undergone. The prophecy becomes more real as other “sisters” begin to appear and the pieces of this puzzle come together. There is so much passion and raw emotion here that the reader will find herself swept up in the torrent. The final installment, Fern’s Flight, promises to be just as passionate and edge of your seat exciting as it draws Fern’s arc of this story to a close. A must read!
I was so nervous to finaaally read Fern's Wings after that grande start of the series and rightfully so, it made me feel so much in such depth its absolutely stunning how Bea manages to cause this turmoil inside of me with "only" her brilliant imagination and words. With every word you read you'll get tangled up in the characters emotions, struggles, strengths and depths more and more till it swallows you whole and you'll never want to come back to the surface of real life again!
I don't even know what else to say, please read this series and watch how Bea works her extraordinaire magic!! It's addicting and totally worth every damn second of re-reading it again and again!
Fern is alive and safe with her three dark angels but is changed as well. She now has wings and isn't sure if she will be forced to take a life as well. Fern spends her time connecting to the three men in her life. It was a lovely story but I just don't like her men as much as accacia's. We learned more about the curse and what happened to the queen. We also had some interaction with the other girls. I guess my biggest complaint is ether. I just don't like him. The excuse of lying to protect someone after swearing you would never lie to them is just ridiculous and patronizing. I will continue to read this series but I am happy the the next book is the end of fern's story.
Fern's Wings certainly hotted (hmmm I'm sure that isn't a word) up from Fern's Decision . This one was hot hot hot, with steamy 'sex' scenes and lots of action thrown in for good measure. After reading Accacia's story where her vampires are happy to share and even join in on the action, I enjoyed the difference in this story where Fern's Angel's aren't so happy to share and we see the jealousy and how this pans out. I really liked the fact Fern's story builds on Accacia's and we even see a cameo from Accaica and her Vampires in this one. I also like how the other sisters are weaved in and we are slowly starting to learn bits about the others, before their stories.
Fern is a very strong woman. I love her grit and determination. She decides to do something and there's no looking back. I love how she is learning her way, discovering her own mind and body, and demanding nothing but the truth. The story development is outstanding in this book. We learn more about the devilishly handsome dark angels, their plight, fight, and the Clan Vitae. The second book is even better than the first and I highly recommend it. You will laugh, cry, and get a little hot under the collar!!
I'm loving the Sisters of Hex Series! Damn Bea Paige has done it again. After reading about Accacia, and the first instalment of Fern and her Angels of Death, I couldn’t wait to see what happened next with this one. I wasn’t disappointed, now I’m eagerly waiting for the final instalment with Fern to know how it all ends up with her Ether, Gabe and Mihr. Bea, write faster woman, I need it!! I’m really looking forward to seeing just how the Sister’s of Hex series will progress and who will be next (Clan Spiritus maybe?) I cannot recommend this book enough!
This series picks up right where the first book left off. Fern Awakens in this book, and quickly discovers all that this entail. With her change she is now able to touch her Angels without it possibly causing her death. However is she able to overcome what having wings will mean?
Bea Paige did an amazing job with character development. Cant wait til the next book!
Much better than the first. In this book, Fern finds her place among her men and the Clan Vitae. It is great getting to know the guys' hearts and past. I love that Fern will not tolerate lies and demands honesty. The way she was able to see the men's personalities right away is great. When she first feels her wings and then learns to fly are the best scenes. Not to mention the steamy ones ;). Alternating POV.
This book picks up right where Fern’s Decision ends, blending the story seamlessly. I love Fern as a character. She is strong and throughout this story has wonderful growth. The relationships that were started in the last book are deepened and I appreciated the dynamics. The epilogue is such a teaser of what I’m sure will be a fantastic final book in Fern’s trilogy. If you have enjoyed the Sisters of Hex stories than you will surely enjoy this one as well.
Fern and her angels are back and she is learning more about her true history and the prophecy. The writing is wonderful and descriptive and makes you feel like you are actually there. The characters are also great. Fern is strong and refuses to be pushed around (even if the men do it because they think she needs protecting) and her interactions with her angels are beautiful and let you really see them growing closer as they learn more about each other.
I am once again blown away at this world created (this time) for Fern, her lovely men, and us. This story is rich with emotions and depth. These characters are dimensional and get you feeling all of the feels. The writing is pure perfection and we are given what are clearly words lovingly crafted from the depths of this writers soul. My only complaint is that I must wait for more. This book, this series is on my must read list and I freely recommend.
I borrowed this title on my kindle unlimited subscription
Book two in this amazing series and Fern is trying to live with the decision she has made. We get to know her men as does she as she adjusts to her new life. Exciting and full of danger passion and romance Ferns story continues on. Well written with a fantastic storyline this series is a great read and I love how it all fits in with the overall story and the other sisters trilogies, cannot wait for Ferns book number three
WOW!!!! First let me say I am so in love with the Sister's of Hex books! Fern is such a strong character. LOVE that she can have such a FIREY temper. She stands her ground and demands to be treated as an equal❤ Everyone wants that!!! You get to see different sides to the men and oh man I can't wait to read more!! My favorite excerpt from the book. "Her touch, her kiss, her everything makes me a better man" 💓Swoon #Ether
I really enjoyed this second book in ferns trilogy, I love how her books tie into Accacia's trilogy and can not wait to see how all the sisters come together! Ferns relationship with her dark angels really comes together in this book as they learn about pasts and continue to move forward after Fern receives her wings and what this will now mean for her. Fern is one of my favorite main characters written by Bra Paige and I look forward to getting more of Fern in the future!
This is a wonderful addition to the series. Fern survives thanks to the Harmonious bond and has Awoken. In this book, Fern is trying to figure out what her transformation means for her and if she will have to kill to survive too, and in the end has to make a really tough choice. We get to know a bit more about the guys and see their relationships develop. I like seeing the other “sisters” pop in and help each other. I’m looking forward to Fern’s Flight.
I continue to fall in love with this series the more I delve into it. Fern has to make some tough decisions as she is caught in a world with her mates, away from her family and friends. She faces a setback when events take a turn for the worse in her family. Fern is a strong, heroic and fierce main character that I absolutely love!!! She doesn't back down and will do whatever is needed.
