A moving collection of 6 short stories – Helpless, A Small Boy’s Cry, Two More Sleeps, Unexpected, Just a Boy and At Risk – previously available as individual e-shorts.
A collection of inspiring and emotive real-life short stories from foster carers Casey Watson and Rosie Lewis.
Sarah, a baby born to a crack-addicted mother on a freezing cold night in December.
Charlie, who fell from the second-floor window of his tower block home while his mother is busy shooting up in their dirty council flat.
Angell, left barely clothed beneath a park bench on a freezing cold day in winter.
Hope, abandoned as a new-born by a young woman traumatised by a dark secret.
Cameron, a sweet boy with a great sense of humour, who disappears after a disastrous and embarrassing family trip.
Adam, a fragile and anxious child, whose relationship with his mother starts to unravel.
Rosie Lewis has been a short-term foster carer for over seven years and in that time has shared her home with over twenty children. Since childhood, Rosie has had an obsession with books and is now delighted to combine fostering with her other passion, writing, by recording some of her experiences in a series of memoirs. Based in northern England, Rosie writes under a pseudonym to protect the identities of the children she looks after.
She lives in the North of England with her own two children.
I usually just stick with Casey Watson and Cathy Glass when it comes to my reading up on foster carriers true stories. Really enjoyed reading Rosie Lewis' s short stories while I anticipated Casey Watson's short stories, to expand my knowledge about different, kind and genuine foster carriers in the U.K. , although I found it difficult to read some of her UK language tango. For Casey Watson's short stories Just A Boy and At Risk were both stories that I wanted to read but needed to wait until they were formatted in a paperback. I am so glad the she does that so everyone can read her short stories. Both stories brought issues that she never covered before which was more interesting and enticing. Both Cameron's and Adam's situations really pulled on my heart strings, as well as the previous stories by Rosie Lewis's.
Angels in Our Hearts contains 6 true short stories told by 2 different authors of the 6 children they have fostered ranging from infant to teen in the UK. Each child with a different background aiming for that happy ending. Very emotional, heartwarming, and educational I must add. A small look at the foster care system told by the carer themselves. GREAT READ!
There are five short stories in this book. I found them just ok. I had read 3 of the stories before. These I feel are the better ones. If are new to the foster carer books then this book is a good choice to see if you like them.
I love reading these books you’re so heartwarming the way they turn out where they help the kids are so great to hear and most of it based on true story so that’s always good
