Lucy's found her husbands... now she just has to get them to marry her. Lucy has her sights set on strong Highlanders Steen and Hugh, but one won't give her the time of day, and the other is being relentlessly pursued by another woman. When her luck with the hot, hunky Highlanders starts to change, dark powers throw the entire village into turmoil. Hugh and Steen need to take up swords and fight for their lassie. But how can a baker and a fisherman defeat a powerful sea creature? This is a cozy Victorian Highland ménage in a reverse harem world aligned with supernatural forces. Charmed meets Outlander. There are elements of ménage and domestic discipline. Cakes will get baked. Water nymphs will get buckets of water thrown at them. And there's a HEA (and no cheating). This is NOT a serial, but it is a series.

Blurb: Lucy's found her husbands... now she just has to get them to marry her.
Lucy is in love with Steen, and in is frustrated with Hugh's presence. The Circle Dance is approaching, a moment to find her husbands. She's elated when Steen asks her for a walk, but another female wants his attention. Hugh is enthralled with Lucy, and wants only the best for her. The villagers often mate in threes. Some only in couples. But Lucy knows her heart lies with Steen, and Hugh. When nymphs and other supernatural creatures intervene in their relationship, what will Steen and Hugh do to possess the woman they love? How far will Lucy go to protect those she loves? I found Wedded to the Highlanders an endearing and wonderful read. It was a page-turner that I couldn't put down. I can't wait for book 2!
I do not know if it is because I read at this time mostly historical romance, and even if some can be steamy, it is no erotica read, while this book was erotica, a little too much for my taste. After the idea of a town where women get two husbands to provide and protect them in case of something arriving to one of them, it was kind of new and rather entertaining. After the magic side of the story was attractive, but as it was a short read, it lacked of something. A 3.5 stars rate.
I enjoyed this fun and quick story. The town of Glenash, Scotland, in the Highlands, hold different customs that the rest of Scotland, in that, two men will marry one woman. In the area, many of the men hold dangerous occupations like hunters or fishermen, making the possibility of an early death a risk to a woman and their children. Mythical creatures also enchant the town and area around it. The story has several humorous moments, but plenty of passion too.
Lucy Gallagher is known for her baking, but she also has hopes for two special men; one is Steen, a town baker, the other, Hugh, a childhood friend, and fisherman. With the Circle Dance soon approaching, Lucy is unsure if the Spirit World will bring these three together. While she has had feelings for years for Hugh, lately he seems always to be angry with her and constantly chastising her. Then with Steen, there is another village girl who wants him and is willing to cause trouble.
The story is full of mystery, suspense, spiritual elements, mythic creatures, constant rivalry, angst, not to mention passion, desire, romance, and spankings. With the help of a nymph and the attraction of two sexy highlanders, the pursuit for a union is part of the game. Lucy will not only bring out the anger in humans, but she will also stir up the sea, causing her two men to go to battle to save her.
The story has several spanking scenes, as well as explicit sex scenes, including ménage encounters with Hugh, Lucy, and Steen. There is no M/M sex involved but does include sex in public places, in the forest, behind buildings, and on the lawn at the Circle Dance.
The story is the first in the Highland Fling Brides but is designed to be read as a stand-alone. I look forward to reading book two which takes place in the same village, Bound to the Highlanders.
Wedded to the Highlanders is the first book in the Highland Fling Brides Series, a historical romance with ménage elements and spiritual elements as well! Lucy lives in a village where it’s common for more than one man to wed a woman, for their match to be chosen by the spirits, and she’s got her eyes on two men to find a connection with before the Circle Dance! Steen, a fellow baker, is charming and sweet, and Hugh, a fisherman, who is more corrective and protective. While Steen seems like a great match, Hugh and Lucy used to be best friends until she lost his cat. With more going on than just finding a common middle ground, such as a wager and a upset with the spirit world, can Lucy, Steen, and Hugh dance together at the Circle Dance?
Oh my gosh, there’s so much that’s wonderful in this story! I loved Lucy, always getting into scraps, and while she’s always trying to help everyone, she rarely thinks about the consequences of her actions until it’s too late. Good thing both Steen and Hugh are willing to take her in hand, and fight for her love! I loved getting to read from all three of their perspectives because I got to read some of the softer sides of Hugh that Lucy didn’t get to see right away, Lucy’s caring personality, and Steen’s romantic side. I loved the play of the spirits! Wow, that was so unique. The concept of the Circle Dance was really cool, too, and I loved reading the ending. I really enjoyed reading this book and very much look forward to the next in the series!
This is a fun and delightful read. The author succeeded in writing the way the highlanders would talk. I enjoyed reading the different words they used. I liked how this was about the courting of Hugh. Steen and Lucy. It was the custom of their village that there would be two men for one woman. The men did not woo her in a traditional way but were unique in letting her know they adored and loved her. I loved the characters. They were so different from each other and they were realistic. Lucy was adorable. She tried to always make the right choices but somehow always got into some kind of trouble. Steen, the baker's son, was in love with Lucy. He was an affable young man. He was confident in himself and knew what was best for himself and for Lucy. He had no problem disciplining her. Hugh, a fisherman by trade, was a self sufficient man. He was sterner than Steen but had a soft spot for Lucy. Lucy had confided in Steen and Hugh that she knew she needed guidance in her daily life decisions. Steen and Hugh had no problem accommodating her. What a treasure they found in each other guided by the spirit of the river, forest and the sea. A quick and fun read. It was 1874 in Glenash, Scotland. It was widely believed the spirit world brought people together and made matches in time for the Circle Dance each year. If they danced together, their hearts would intertwine, and they had three days to consummate. If they did, they would remain bound to one another for the rest of their lives. If they didn't, it was assumed they were permitted to go their separate ways. It wasn't known for sure. Officially, it was called the Annual Glenash Highland Fling, but everyone in the village just referred to it as the Circle Dance. Lucy was the best baker in the village. Unfortunately, she had a terrible habit lately of making bad decisions or making a bad situation worse. She didn't know what was wrong with her. She was in love with two men, Hugh, a fisherman and Steen, a baker himself and son of the bakery owners. What happens looks like Fate and Murphy's Law flipped a coin and these three individuals are in a constant turmoil. It's funny, sad, passionate, frustrating all at once as Katie Douglas lays out a storyline that is completely irresistible.
In a little village in the Scottish Highlands there are triad couples that have two men with one woman. This is so there is someone to protect and care for the woman if something happens to one of the men. Lucy is a baker and she has always had feelings for Hugh since the were little. Lucy would like Hugh and Steen to be her husbands. Hugh has been acting awful towards her so she is confused about their relationship and if he would even want to be with her. Steen is a baker and loves his work just like she loves baking which is what draws her to him. Hugh is a fisherman and the were really close until a misunderstanding comes between them. Will Lucy get the men she loves or will she end up heartbroken?
This is a steamy story that will captivate you from the first page. The chemistry between Lucy, Hugh and Steen is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this story to any book lover.

Excellent story of Lucy, a 26 year old in 1874 Glenash, Scotland. In Glenash, women generally marry two men as it is a rough life. If one dies, there is someone left to support the woman and her children. Lucy has her eye on Steen, the local baker, who returns the admiration. Then there is Hugh, a local fisherman, who secretly loves her but is frequently exasperated by her. The village and woods are full of spirits who match people together at the yearly Circle Dance. As the dance approaches, Lucy gets herself into several mishaps. Will the spirits match her with Steen and Hugh? If they do, will the pair still want her or is she too much trouble? This is a quick, steamy read, great to lose yourself in an afternoon, leaving you wondering how to find your own Steen and Hugh! Looking forward to book 2 in the series!
Wedded To The Highlanders is the first book in Katie Douglas' new series, The Highland Fling Brides. It's a historical reverse harem romance with a good dose of magic/fantasy thrown in for good measure and it makes an amazing story. In 1874, Victorian Highland village Glenash it's not unusual for a women to marry two or even three men. The annual circle dance is coming up, and Lucy Gallagher had her sights set on Stern, the local Baker and Hugh, who works as a fisherman. While both Stern and Hugh both have strong feelings for Lucy, there's a lot they must go through in order to live happily ever after!

A well written fast read with a cute story about a young woman who finds her husbands. The characters were interesting but a bit shallow on details. I liked the bit of dominance displayed by the men. I would have liked more humor though which I think could have added to the story in a good way. The addition of spirit was introduced and had elements of interest as well but I didn't think it really added too much to the story. I still don't understand what was so important about the cat (other than Hugh's attachment to it) and why it wouldn't come home. It seemed random to put it into the story and not complete the idea.
It was horrible, her punishment towards the end where they spanked her and then shoved ginger up her butt had me cringing the entire time. It wasn't sexy or hot, it was awkward. And the weird plot line of water and wood spirits didn't seem very planned out, just thrown in there instead where it didn't make much sense. Having a fisherman and a baker fight a sea god and win didn't make sense either, the fight was almost over before it even began.
The idea of having to marry 2 men during the village dance seemed like it would make a good story, but this was executed very poorly in my opinion.
I won't be reading anything else by this author.

Oh My!! This book was so magically delightful! I loved this world that Ms. Douglas weaved for us- full of nymphs and water monsters and magical circles that bind husbands and a wife together. And Lucy- so hopeful, but vulnerable at the same time. The chemistry between her and her men was hot and touching all at once. I loved that we were able to hear the points of view of all of them. I’m so glad there is a next book (The preview had me really excited!). (I also really wish there might be some happy endings for a certain nymph and water monster as well 😍.) Five magical stars!
What happen in a village where each bride has two grooms due to the dangerous nature of there fishing life. In Lucy case the local talented baker she picks Steen and Hugh Steen is fine with the decision but Hugh he hates Lucy or does he has he forgiven her for her past transgressions. Now they need the spirits to bless their union and Lucy will need to be take in hand by her two new husbands. Katie Douglas has written a fast paced book that flows with both spice and humour it was a joy to read
I was given a copy of this book but this is a true and honest review
This is first time reading this author and now look forward to book two. Lucy, Steen, and High all live in a village that believe in two husbands to one wife. Wedded to the Highlanders (Highland Fling Brides Book 1) by Katie Douglas is a Historical, menage, Erotic Romance. Welcome to Glenash: The cozy Victorian Highland village where one woman marries two husbands or more! In 1874, accomplished baker Lucy Gallagher has her sights set on two huge, hot Highlanders. It is well written and the storyline and plot are great with suspense, humor, and twists. The chemistry is great with plenty of passion.
Lucy has had her eye on both Steen & Hugh. When things finally fall into place other matters come crashing down on them. A water nymph and a sea creature cause havoc, not to mention a young girl named Millie.
This is a really adventurous story. We have a water nymph, sea creature, hot guys and misunderstanding. Obviously Lucy, Steen and Hugh all misunderstand things between one another but that does get resolved but then the evils of the sea wants something. Then you have a girl that wants what Lucy has and deserves a spanking. It is all a cute tale and exciting adventure.
Lucy grows up in a secluded Scottish town where the spirits match you to your perfect mate(s). Lucy has a couple of men in mind but one she thinks is interested in someone else and one she thinks hates her. When the spirits step in to help her, craziness takes over. This was a very sweet but kind of naughty story. Lucy is your normal slightly insecure girl who needs to appreciate herself as much as others. Well written but I kind of stumbled over some of the Scottish terms a little.
On one hand I love when authors masterfully write steamy, sweet romances with the Scottish Highland fantasy men. In the other hand, I don't think food should be sacrificed to the main character's pleasure/discipline via her anus. I don't know if I'll ever be able to look at a ginger root or a stick of butter in the same way again... Also, I really thought the sea spirit would get to join in on the action, but alas, it never happened...
I am not sure how I came across this but I have to be honest I didn’t like this at all. First, we have apparently have some random town in old Scotland that practices polyamory. There is not a lot of explaination given as to why and how that came to be. Then it also randomly threw in “spirits” but they were really gods and goddesses I guess. It was just convoluted and the characters were not any better.
Wonderfully romantic story. I really enjoyed the beginning of this story it made me laugh. The story kept me entertained all the way thru. The characters are well created and very engaging. The missing cat kept me smiling. A lovely fantastical story. I particularly enjoyed the mystical elements. Looking forward to more in this world.
Wedded to the Highlanders is the first book of the Highland Fling Brides series. This story is full of romance, magic, myth, hot men, sassy women, and very steamy raunchy scenes. I enjoyed the interaction and dialogue between Lucy and her men. The writing style was very vibrant so that reading Wedded to the Highlanders was something I enjoyed a great deal.
This is a great story - a sweet romance with just a touch of intrigue and danger. I'm really looking forward to returning to Glenash and meeting more of the villagers, and the spirits! I'm hoping Keelie gets her own book eventually! Also, this book was superbly edited, so it was a delight to read!
This woman sure did not know how to stay out of trouble. Lucy Gallagher likes two men Steen the baker's son and Hugh a fisherman she would like them to be her husbands at the Circle Dance. What happens had me smiling throughout the book. I am looking forward to the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This book is great! It is a historical menage set in a village where a woman will take multiple husbands due to the danger in their jobs. The book also has some fantasy mixed in which added something to the plot. I enjoyed reading this book.

First time I have read a historical menage romance. It is well written and their chemistry is great. Nice storyline and plot. Well described and developed characters. There is humor, suspence, emotions, passion and twists in this story and that makes it a nice read. I can only recommend it to others.

The characters are playful, sexy and realistic. The plot is developed well and progresses at a good clip. The addition of "folklore" and fantasy embroils the reader into the story. I can't wait for more in this series!!!
