Officer John Falco has just started with the Metro Police Department in Nashville. Nico Mayson has been assigned to be his mentor. Falco’s new partner is a former lover from their days together in the Academy. Angie Hicks is highly volatile, lives on the edge, and plays it fast and easy with the rules. On their first day together, they team up to thwart a robbery, but break a few rules along the way, violations that Hicks tries to cover up. An investigation ensues.
The same day, Falco stumbles upon a beautiful young woman in a homeless community. She seems oddly out of place and strangely familiar to him. Falco is drawn to the young woman and learns she is hiding out from a criminal strip club owner with mob ties, who lured her into a dark world of exotic dancing, prostitution and murder.
Falco must balance the loyalty he feels toward his partner with the feelings he is developing for the young woman he is trying to help, all while the internal investigation heats up. Hicks is faced with a decision: throw Falco under the bus and save her career or face the consequences herself. Until Falco is filled with hot action and sizzling sex.
WARNING: Contains strong language and sexual situations.
I am new to writing romance, though I have written professionally in the media world for over 15 years. My first published novel, Searching for Honor, went to #1 on the entire Amazon KindleWorlds network and held the position for three weeks.
When I'm not writing I am spending most of my time with family. With two children and two grandchildren my life is hopping.
This book doesn't deserve any stars.. this book was a huge mess.. i don't wanna read the OW pov like wtf? Also our hero isn't even a alpha i stop i couldn't finish this mess i skimmed the last pages.. who says "i miss your big bazookas" if you found your Boom? The one woman you love (heroine) i have not seen any alphas in this thing act that way after they found the one.. . Also who makes your fuck buddy the godmother of your kids and your bestman/woman I would rate this neg 5 stars
The absolutely only reason I picked this up is because of the Until world. If this author knows the kind of books ARR writes then she'd know this in NO WAY belongs to that world. It's a disgrace!
From the prologue, the very first page it's clear this H is no alpha male and till the very last page he did nothing to make me change my mind! This in dual pov.....dual pov of the H and his new partner/former lover. The same former lover he almost had sex with but they didn't have a condom. Said former lover's pov is there till the very end and will be there forever as she's to be the child's godmother!🤦 I've never in my over 20 years of romance reading come across something like this, to make matters worse this is a book in a beloved author's world! Ugh I'm so aggravated! And the cherry on top of this shit cake.....she has my love Nico make a cameo! Nico! Oh no she didn't!!!!!!!!
In what universe is this part of the Until series spinoff? Falco was not even close to an Alpha. He has been a cop for 3 years and yet when he moves to a new town and Angie becomes his partner he follows her orders. They had previously been screwing each other but decided to cool off since they were working together now. As for him to lie about what happens at the scene of a crime because she told him to just doesn't add up to what a alpha male would do. He was to much of a pussy to stand up for anything. When the story began with a prologue I was intrigued as to what would happen. It took until half of the book was over before it even made any sense. The POV was from Falco and Angie who is the OW???? Irina turns up later as a homeless beaten runaway. The minute Falco finally recognizes her he moves her into his home and she is the BOOM. Whatever. The only thing that this book had in common with the Until series is the use of Nico, otherwise it is a very poor excuse of a book. NO ONE wants to read a book about a hero and is lover who finally runs into his BOOM but keeps the ex in his life. After they are in witness protection and Angie shows up and he hugs her and comments on how he misses her big bazookas????? really???? What a loser and Irina needs to lose him and find someone worthy. Who wants their husbands ex to be their childs godmother? This author had no place in this series.
To me this didn't feel like it was part of the ARR Until World. I was confused who Falco was going to be with obviously until he mentions' Boom'. It took too long to connect with his Boom. It was distracting with the other woman who he almost had sex with (they had been in a sexual relationship with each other before)after her met his Boom woman and a few hours before seeing her again. Also although it's dual POV, it is the Hero and the other is not the heroine. As the 2nd POV is the non-heroine, it mean that we spent to much time with a secondary character. For me that didn't work. Not really insta, to me anyway. The connection to ARR is Nico. In a comment about Kindle world it was said that other authors can add their book using characters connected to the main series from the original author and they are free to use their own writing style but in my opinion this book doesn't belong in this series or be listed connected to it so readers will think it has been written along the same vein.
This was a good read. It's a possible 4 star read, however, I personally felt that our heroine story is just so sad. And I really did not like our hero's work parther.
Okay, wait.... hang on. Back up for a second... Lemme get this straight.... While I quite enjoy dual POV's in story telling, I like when we get inside the heads of both love interests, what I absolutely don't wanna read about.... is the former sex friend of the main dude! What even was that??? It's cool though, they all become besties at some point... even to the point of asking said former sex friend to be my kids' godmother?? Again..... whaaaaaat?
Also, the dialogue was ridiculous and cringy, the h tried to be all BAMF, but it just did not work, not even a little bit. There was mention of the BOOM, but.... just cuz you say it, don't make it the BOOM... I didn't feel it at all... this one was probably one of the most confusing of this series that I've read. Not for me, at all.
Did not enjoy this story at all... so the story is about main guy and his female partner Hicks. Which confused the heck out of me at the beginning... then a girl from the prologue enters the story who is the “BOOM” I’d rather of like to hear more about falco and his boom than Hicks and the police work they did... then to top it off why would he even be inviting his ex to his wedding and asking her to move?!? Oh and telling her her boobs are fantastic is he not married wtf?!?! Yeah nope not my cup of tea!

I recieved this ARC for an honest review This is an awesome read It has the sweet romance of youth along with the unpleasantness of life. Falco meets Irina in crappy circumstances but you can see what sort of man he is going to become. They form a bond and love. Which is taken away from them. Years later Falco is now a police officer starting at a new job at anew precinct. He doesn't do commitment at least the relationship kind that is saved for his job His a new partner and mentor Hicks is Hot. But she also has temper issues. Which becomes evident when they take down 3 armed robbery suspect. Hicks covers for Falco and he covers for her but her bad judgement is about to land them both in hot water. A chance encounter finds Falco helping a homeless and beaten woman, its his Irina. She has troubles all of her own. The best thing about this story it keeps you page turning you want to find out what Hicks will do will she back her partner Falco or save her own ass. Will Falco be able to save Irina again. A really enjoyable read.
jesse has done it again. This was a very suspenseful read. It involved so many different subjects yet the author blended them together well. This book dealt with young love.bullying, problems with foster care system. Also sexual abuse.homelessness. On the other hand we have falco and hicks two cops who are reunited after being a pair during training. How they learn to become partners, while overcoming sexual tension between them. They are forced to deal with police politics. You are left on edge wondering whether hicks will save her career or will she stand by her partner. How will Falco help Hicks with her anger management problems. All while dealing with everyday police work. It was very interesting. Well done.
This story dealt with such things as the foster system along with other things along the way. Irena was a foster child and met Falco in school while both were young. They were separated and when Falco is an officer years later he meets up with her again while she is homeless. Both were likeable characters and the story did have an HEA. Secondary characters were also likeable as in Falco's partner Hicks. This is not all is good in the world type of read as there were several things taking place in the story. All in all a good read. I am voluntarily reviewing an arc I received.
To say I was disappointed in this book is an understatement. I am even embarrassed that the author had even breathed the name "Nico" in this book. If the author had a connection with the Mayson family from the original series, then they know that this whole book goes against everything the Maysons stand for in their individual books. This was not good....even read the first few chapters to see why. A.R.R....not sure why you accepted this book as part of the Happily Ever Alpha series...but damn. The main character was more like Happily Ever A-hole. #facepalm
El comienzo de la historia es tan dulce que te atrapa sin darte cuenta, me hubiese gustado el foco solo en Irina, asi hubiese sido un 5 para mi porque sinceramente no me gusto el personaje de Hicks...
Jesse Jacobson has a winner with Until Falco. As with other books by Jacobson, Falco shies away from the expected path and presents the reader with a none standard approach. Realistic characters and a well crafted storyline, this is a great addition to anyone's reading list.
The entire book was a WTF kind a book.... The POV story line was stupid why have a POV from a women that the book is not able... complete waste of time 🤦
Falco and Irina met in high school. She was a foster child. When it came to light that she was abused, she was removed and placed in other homes. Falco is a cop. That is all he ever wanted to do. Hicks was with him at the academy and they hooked up for awhile and now she is his partner. He has to report to Nico daily since he is new. On their first day as partners, they end up lying in their reports and have to cover each other. Falco knows the homeless woman is familiar. Just can't figure out why. Will he find out who she is? Will him and Hicks get busted for their reports?
Didn't like this. Couldn't get into the characters... even Nico felt off. Really didn't like the Hicks/ Falco narrative. Irina didn't feel like a BOOM... more like an afterthought as a character. Thoroughly unlikable.. the 'story', the characters... everything. This does not fit into ARR's 'Until' 'verse. And what the actual eff was the big bazookas comment supposed to do to the reader? Make them think that given half the chance Falco would be wanking over them? Cos that is what I thought... yuck to the nth degree. The Maysons would be appalled.
Whilst this is part of ARR's kindle world it is very different from the others in the original series and the kindle world however it was still an enjoyable book to read. It did take me couple of chapter to really get into the book but once I did I enjoyed it. I did wonder how it would cross over to the original series although it wasn't a very big crossover it was ok.
Dnf at 30%. The writing was pretty terrible. Didn’t flow at all. Unnecessary details. The story gave the POV of a lady who is his partner who he used to have sex with but isn’t his boom. I don’t get it. 😑

I'm actually kind of sad about this story. I'm still not sure what I just read, but I want to read about the H and the h... not the H and the girl he used to do.

DNF. This is the Only Happily Ever Alpha book (first wave) I was unable to finish. This is a novella during which, in my opinion, way too much time was spent dealing with why he wasn’t going to sleep with his partner anymore. When I finally figured out his actual love interest was the homeless Russian woman and her first words to him were her demands on how he is going to help her, I closed the book and gave up. Never felt such dislike for a heroine, ever.
