There is so much to love, to laugh and to cry about in this book. It is every emotion you could ever feel.
In a continuation of the Diablo’s Throne MMA series, this is book 3, and after Cruz and Jag, we get to read Trick’s story, and wow! Once again, HJ Bellus puts a story together with her trademark writing of tension and steam pulled together with a layer of humour endemic in most families, where characters always try their best to wind each other up.
This is why we love MMA romances. The men are in the toughest of sports, yet they show the most respect to those around them, and some like Jag, have given their balls to their wives to keep safely in their purses! There is nothing funnier than grown ar$ed men afraid of one angry pregnant woman.
I love everything about Trick. He’s one huge world title winning fighter, yet he’s back to college to pursue his degree, and when the clumsiest and cutest girl literally falls into his lap, he feels attraction on a level he’s not felt in a long time.
Mack has had the most tragic of starts to life. She’s introverted to a fault, topped off by a healthy dose of clumsy, making her a target for ridicule throughout her school years, and now those boys have seen her trip and fall again into the lap of a massive, and gorgeous man, they’re at it again! Well, not on Trick’s watch, and even as Mack is scared to engage in life, and with him, his gentle persistence makes for beautiful and heartfelt reading.
You have to read this book. It’s an amazing story that also showcases the triumph of success over not only the little things, but overcoming the big things in life that shape us. I hit this book in one sitting – who needs sleep anyway! And, it you haven’t read Cruz, and Jag’s books, you’ll find you have to now. 5 Stars.
