Das Buch ist in einfachem Spanisch geschrieben und ist vor allem für Anfänger geeignet. Der Satzbau ist einfach und die Sprache leicht verständlich. Das Spanisch ist typisch lateinamerikanisch bzw. südamerikanisch und damit das meistgesprochene Spanisch der Welt. Die Autorin lebt in Argentinien und stammt ursprünglich aus Venezuela.

This book is kept in Spanish entirely, which makes it ideal for people who already know some basic vocabulary to help them understand the stories and annotations. A few stories follow similar themes (like adultery and other forms of betrayal), which supposedly goes for many regional legends regardless where they originate from. Altogether it is an entertaining mix, though.
La Isla del Encanto (a legend from Panamá) remains my personal favourite! Most of the stories are very, very short, which makes this an ideal bedtime story book for learners of Spanish! The book tells you where each story comes from and also gives explanations to some of the vocabulary in simple Spanish.
Once you completed reading, you can ask the publisher for some audio material, which features a mix of other stories published by Schinken Verlag, which might give you more inspiration on what to read next.

If you want to learn Spanish this is a good choice. All the stories are really what we learn as children in latinamerica.
