Carter doesn’t believe in love at first sight or happily ever after. When he goes to Vegas for his brother’s bachelor party, the last thing he expects is Brynne, the beautiful cocktail waitress who nurses his hangover with a drink just as bubbly and sweet as she is.
Brynne’s optimism and unfailing faith in love is a breath of fresh air, and it makes him think maybe he’s had it wrong all along.
They say what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. And Carter’s heart? It might be taking up permanent residence there.

Brynne Watson, 24, is a cocktail waitress in Vegas working the hang-over shift. Carter Hayes, 27, is hung-over. He’s also struggling with his outlook on love and marriage in the wake of his brother’s nuptials. But his doubts and gloom are about to be tested when the pessimist meets the optimist.
Brynne was a breath of fresh air. Not just for Carter but in the grand scheme of heroines of the romance world. She doesn’t let life get her down, but she’s not naïve either. She knows the odds but she’s always willing to take the gamble. If you enjoy upbeat and smart heroines, Brynne should be a winner for you.
Carter, I warmed to him right away. There was just something about his mix of cynicism and vulnerability that was endearing. He was really cute.
Even though it was just supposed to be a hook-up for them, it wasn’t hard to sense that something so much more was brewing. I was getting butterflies too.
“‘The truth is, I’ve known you for less than two hours and you’re already one of the most interesting people I’ve ever met.’”
Told via their dual first person POV, Carter and Brynne manage to rock those butterfly moments with sweet I’m-falling-for-you lovemaking and wall pounding I-gotta-have-you-now sex all in one afternoon.
"‘I think we might’ve just discovered a kink we didn’t know we had.’"
And then it’s topped off with a tug on your heartstrings scene.
I think novellas can be a challenge when it comes to developing the characters; every scene, every nuisance has to count. And it does here. It works. I was pulled in from the very start and stayed engaged as the tale pulls off a combined insta-lust and insta-love in a way that captures a convincing “love at first sight” experience.
When they finally allowed themselves to play twenty questions, I really wanted them to keep going because I wanted to get to know them more too. None the less, the “reveal” or the question I’d wondered different times was a cute and fitting answer.
Lastly, this isn’t something I usually comment on, although I do notice it having once worked in publishing, but the formatting here was nicely done. The chapter headings very visually appealing.
All in all, a sweet, safe, and super hot Vegas romance.

“Why did men always assume that having a vagina made someone lose the ability to work a pedal and a gearshift at the same time? I was a firm believer that women were way better at multitasking than men.”
This one's a lot better than the first one I read from this series. Not the usual book I read but I enjoyed the story.
It's about Carter and Brynne.
It's his brother's bachelor party and they're staying at the Millenium. He had a little fight with his brother. He doesn't believe love and marriage last because of his past but meeting Brynne, a cocktail waitress at the Little Black Dress changed him for the better.
Adorable and sweet read .Who doesn't like mimosas. 🥂 Thank you Alex, for your direct and honest review that had me picking up this charming novella.💐 Such likeable characters . No unnecessary or over the top drama. Sexy and fun read with a cute epilogue.👍 Plus it was also nice to read another book by Jamie Schlosser. I really enjoyed "Trucker" by her but I read that so long ago, back in 2016. Now I know this is a series featuring different authors, I might have to try a few more of them. 🎲🎰🃏🎲🎰🃏🎲🎰🃏🎲
Sweet and spicy instalove in Vegas that works in chemistry AND connection. Wonderful 9 year out epilogue with their HEA. Written in first person, dual POV. No ow/om drama, neither virgins, bc used.
Short and sweet for a Saturday afternoon. Gotta say, one of my favorite parts was when the hero told the heroine he was a car salesman. We’re all so used to billionaires and CEOs, then when a true average joe hero comes around it always surprises me in a very good way.
This one wasn’t for me. It had a great premise but the heroine had given her body and innocence to another and I have zero interest in a romance where the connection and bond that comes from giving the hero the primal satisfaction in claiming those gifts for himself has been severed by a stupid heroine who has spread her legs for another man to crawl between them and break her in. No thank you.
I thought this story was just going to be an ok story, because it it's really hard to hit all the boxes on my checklist. This one did a really good job: There was an actual story. The sex scenes were pretty hot. The characters are very likeable. There was a little bit of drama, but not OTT. The length wasn't too short for a short story.
This is my first read of this author and I am excited to read more.
I generally shy away from short stories, as I'm scared they'll feel rushed and won't give me enough time to get attached to the characters or, even decide if I like them or not - but I gave this one a chance and there's litteraly NOTHING I can say against it.
I liked both characters and the alchemy between them, and actually enjoyed how short it was. I sinceraly think it didn't need to be longer. Sometimes, the shortest are the best. It's a shame the other books in the serie are not written by the same author - I understood it was 14 books for 14 authors, written around the same universe of this cool little bar in Las Vegas. I might give the others a chance!
Carter just woke up with a terrible hangover. He is his brother Scott's best man for his upcoming wedding and their are in Vegas for Scott bachelor party. Unfortunately, his morning gets worse when he gets into a argument with his brother. He finds a open bar that has a hangover hour that serves mimosas, coffee and muffins. He stumbles in and with a pleasant surprise meets a waitress named Brynne.
Brynne is a native of Vegas and finds herself attracted to Carter. After an enjoyable conversation she decides to let him come back to her place which for her is out of the ordinary. But they end up spending time and having fun.
Both know that Carter is only in town for a short visit and they both try to keep their time together in perspective but are so surprised but all the feelings they can't ignore.
This was a really cute, sweet, and even sexy story. The Vegas backdrop was a nice touch to the story and I really liked all the characters in the book. It was a short read but felt full and complete and had a actually story and not just sex between them. I can find this rarely lately with many short books or novellas. So a wonderful surprise all around.
Light and easy, I enjoyed the characters, felt their chemistry. The story was entertaining, and it delivered very well for a novella.
This novella contains spanking, and I want to get that off my chest. I HATE SPANKING, it's my biggest turn off in sex scenes, it's degrading, dehumanizing and overused in romance. Your fingers printed on her body can put your ass in jail, so why would it be ok to abuse her ass. Squeeze it man, kiss it, bite it even, but why would you enjoy hurting it. Please authors stop making a degrading act look sexy and desired, because it's not.
Anyway, the spanking happened only once, so it didn't affect my enjoyment (or rating).
His Mimosa is a quick great read. Jamie Schlosser is one of my one click author so I didn't pay much attention to what this one was about before reading it. I didn't realize until the end of the book that His Mimosa is part of the The Cocktail Girl series, which is written by 14 different authors. I definitely plan on checking the rest of the series out.
Carter doesn't believe in love.. His parents had a messy divorced that makes him not believe in happy ever after. He's in Vegas for his brother’s bachelor party and at times he's not the best companion. Carter ends up meeting Brynne during hangover hour. She brings him free Mimosa. I loved Brynne. She sweet and nice and full of hope. Although they are a little different in their view on life, they hit it off. You can't help but root of these two.
This was just a little novella that I listened to on the Read Me Romance Podcast. This was a short and fun romance! However, I think that this book could have benefitted from being a full-length novel. There was just not as much character development that I would like. I also thought that the hero changed his mind about marriage and commitment way too quickly. I will say that I love her fantasy romances more!
4.5⭐️ A sexy read filled with both hot and sweet moments! An intense connection that I didn’t want to end.
Carter’s in Vegas for his brother’s bachelor party. He’s a bit jaded and doesn’t believe in happily ever after. And after he tells his brother his thoughts on his upcoming nuptials, things get a bit tense.
Carter heads to a bar to cool down and meets a cute and friendly bartender, Brynne. Their attraction is immediate. And what started out as just a quick hook-up turned into a whole lot more. The chemistry and intensity between them was enviable! So HOT!
I fell in love with Brynne and Carter. She was fun, a little bit wild, straight shooter and just a great girl. Carter was handsome, cynical of love, but once he found Brynne, his romantic and sweet side made an appearance. My only wish for this story was...MORE!
I really enjoyed this story! This was a super sweet, super sexy read. I loved both Carter and Brynne, they were fantastic characters. This story was light hearted and super safe. Just what I needed at the moment!
I FLOVED this story:) It was a quick and very hot n spicy read with the most adorable moments!!!!!! I loved Carter and Brynne!!!!!!!!! The Epilogue was spot on PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!
A delectably sweet, swoony, oh so adorable romance from Jamie Schlosser! His Mimosa is part of the Cocktail Girls series. I fell in absolute L-O-V-E with His Mimosa! This felt a bit more sophisticated with our characters. Carter doesn't believe in love and certainly doesn't expect to find it in Vegas. He is kind of hard edged and a bit cynical but it takes one beautiful cocktail waitress to get him to really think about something he never thought he could believe in. And Brynne she not only believes in love, but she has a sweet personality that I can easily relate to and who has a strong zest for life and who is so full of energy and light. These two were complete opposites but they seemed to just fit beautifully together. Like two puzzle pieces.
This novella maybe fast paced but it does not lack in heat, heart, or romance. We get all this and more in my opinion. Jamie Schlosser NAILED His Mimosa! I didn't feel like I was lacking AT ALL with this story. Sometimes with a novella I feel like it was all to quick and ended abruptly, but not with this one. It was so well put together and incredibly written. We get Jamie Schlosser's signature sweetness, charm, humor and characters you can't help but to adore!
His Mimosa gets a TOO CUTE FOR WORDS FIVE SHOOTING STARS!
This was SO GOOD!! It’s well-written, it’s fun, and it is HOT!
This novella gave me everything a romance lover wants and needs - a hero to lust over, a heroine to adore, smokin’ hot chemistry between the two, and steamy scenes that will have you tingling in all the right places.
Carter and Brynne were so dang lovable! I fell for them right away. Watching their relationship grow was satisfying and made my heart flutter numerous times. Their connection was strong and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. I swear I had hearts in my eyes as I was reading.
This story had the perfect mix of humor, heart, sass, and steam. It was sweet where I wanted it and sexy where I needed it.
I’ve been to Vegas a few times, and as I was reading, I felt like I was there again! I highly recommend this!
Brynne & Carter's story is bubbly & sweet, much like the title. It's a quick romp, a sexy bite. It's also still a complete story of love, laughter, finding your ONE, and having a bit of adventure in Vegas, baby! Carter thinks he's emotionally unavailable, but he just needed the right key to unlock his sweeter side. Loved the story & especially the epilogue! Good epilogues are my favorite. : )
I want to read other books of hers. I’m very curious about this author. Romance was very well established for a short novella. And the seven year epilogue actually topped off what was a three day insight into their relationship/how they met. 3.5 🌟.
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
Oh this book!!! I loved each character so much and the fact it was an insta-love so didn’t bother me at all. Carter and Brynne so were perfect for each other. She opened his eyes to what Love really is despite what he grew up seeing. He taught her that jumping in feet first can burn you, but sometimes good things can actually happen for you.
Carter is such a grumpy old man…LOL He is so jaded and being a total party pooper for his brother Vegas Bachelor party. I mean who wants to hear the best man say you are an idiot for getting married???? Not most grooms or brides for that fact.
Brynne has lived and grown up in Vegas. She is over the glitz of the city and just living for the fun and excitement. When she sees a hottie, she jumps in feet first hoping for some fun not knowing her heart was going to be rocked on the best if ways.
The story was so sweet at times which made Carter open his eyes to WHAT he is missing out. The books is also super sexy when Carter and Brynne get to “getting to know each other” a little better!!!
