Wow I am always stuck for words really when it comes the the culvergouse and knight series. Every book are just brilliant, I honestly didn’t think they could get any better, but once again Adam Croft as proven me wrong again. Dead and Buried is a don’t want to put down book, with human trafficking and then being help against their will, sorry no spoilers from me. It’s a fast paced and not very far from the truth these days. Adam Croft brings such real live incidents to the forefront of topics that are really going on. Although this book was a novel human trafficking is not. It’s real and going on quite a lot. I am glad Adan Croft has the foresight to write a novel with so much emotion and reality, now that’s not saying part of the book or any of it are true, it’s a novel and one worth reading as all his books do. He’s a fantastic writer and brings his book and characters to life. Full praise for Adam Croft, for being such a excellent writer, if you really really want to read a series of books you will never forget then Culverhouse &knight are definitely the series to read. It’s most definitely recommend as a MUST READ, Thanks again Adam Croft. Now waiting for book 9 with great anticipation. Do read must read
The plot of this novel – human trafficking - is interesting, but in some ways it seems to be a bit of a side-line to the more indepth developments within the Mildenheath CID. We see the return to work of Wendy Knight after her horrendous injury in the previous novel and hopefully her private life with Xav is improving. Likewise, Jack Culverhouse seems to be making progress with his daughter and perhaps his private life is also looking promising once more. I really enjoyed this aspect, as it’s good to follow the lives of the major characters in a series and keeps you coming back for more. Naturally the policing side of the story is exciting and well executed with the criminals finally being brought to justice, with a fast paced ending which really prevents you from putting the book down.
Once more I can highly recommend Adam Croft’s Knight & Culverhouse series. I have thoroughly enjoyed every single one of them and really hope that book 9 will not be far away.
Adam Croft sets the stage for another Culverhouse & Knight novel. Two dead bodies and then a further two shortly after being released from Custody give Culverhouse an a uncomfortable sensation that his part of the world has been invaded by Martian’s or in this case Russian Mafia!! If you are a fan of both Croft and Culverhouse this book takes you further along the life of both Culverhouse and Knight. If however this is the first Adam Croft book you have read then maybe it is not quite 5 star. Enjoyable and possible based on stories from most newspapers but for me not as enjoyable as earlier Culverhouse and Knight stories
Another great crime solved by two super police detectives. When you read any of the Knight & Culverhouse series of books you will find that you won't be able to put them down. And in book 8 you will find the same results. Adam has a way of ending each chapter at the correct moment that makes you want to turn the page and start the next chapter. This story does deal with one of today's most current topics. It is a great read. But if you are just beginning to read this series go back and pick up book 1. Stories are always better from the beginning.
I have loved all of Adam Croft's books. This one not quite as much as the others but still a book worth reading. I felt information about the characters, for readers who had not read any other books in the series, was repeated more than enough near the beginning of the book. Other than that I enjoyed the story. Maybe a little more background about the villains or the victims would have been interesting. However, I shall be buying the next book in the series to see what our two detectives are up to.
Another great book Adam, covering a difficult subject, but which unfortunately is becoming more commonplace. People trafficking is so widespread and so few are found. Jack did a brilliant job as usual in solving the crime. The only comment I would like to make is that I would have liked more information on how Mikhail Gushkin was found. Recommended.
This is a new segment of the Knight and Culverhouse series where the two detectives are on a new case where two bodies are found just outside Mildenheath. They are also investigating human trafficking and kidnappers. There is also betrayal which shocks the town. Another awesome story by my favorite author Adam Croft. I love his exciting and breathtaking novels. You will, too!
Once more Adam Croft has delivered I have yet to read a book of his that I can put down. The story is believable and keeps moving forward. There is just enough from his personal life to join it together without detracting. These are best read in sequence but will also stand alone. Can't wait to read next one.
A sensitive storyline which Adam Croft covered very well. Would very much like to see the continuing saga of Knight and Culverhouse in book 9! It may not have been a 5* this time, but I would definitely recommend his books!
Another fine episode in the Knight & Culverhouse series. The reason I say episode is that Adam's detail and writing style plays like a police procedural on the BBC or Netflix. now when is episode 9 coming?
Activities abound, not all of them legal. Some borderline. Principles reserved and some stymied. Personal issues aside, the best is always good. Family problems need to be resolved.
I love the development of the Knight and Culverhouse personal lives, but I really felt that the crime story in this episode was a bit boring. The book was very well written but the story was not one of his best.
This is a crime novel that draws you in and makes you care about it's main characters, whilst also absorbing you into a fine narrative of a police procedure and an interesting crime. A thoroughly good, and easy, read, i look forward to further works by this author!
