This is Book #2 in the Best Selling Far Hope Series. These books are intended for mature audiences and recommended for 18+. All books are HEA and contain a minor cliffhanger. This book also contains bonus material as a special thank you!
Kira and Thor continue their dangerous journey in this second book in the series. You really want to read them in order.
It is an interesting story with lots of different kinds of characters. I like that Kira is a strong female character and is not looking for someone to save her. She struggles with her feelings for Thor to some extent but they continue to grow closer. There is a lot of action in this story and it does end with another cliffhanger.
This action-packed sequel to "Thor" brings back Kira, a kick-a*s space pilot and warrior, and her band of friends as they seek to neutralize Grimm, a power mad space commander who is threatening the galaxy. There is a bit more romance in this book between Kira and Thor, an elite warrior and Kira's former prisoner, but nothing ever gets graphic. The adventure includes bounty hunters to evade, weird aliens to fight, space colonies to save, old acquaintances to visit and a cobbled together air ship that requires all of Kira's intelligence and flying skills to escape numerous dangers along the way. If you like non-stop adventure in space, this one's for you.
I received an ARC copy of this book from the author at no cost. This is my honest review.
Captain Kira Winter and her crew were approaching Earth, concerned about what they might find when they got there. Grimm’s rebellion had reportedly settled down somewhat, but things were still tense. Their ship needed some serious repairs at the space station. But as they reached Earth’s orbit, they were shocked at the damage and debris in front of them. With permission, they finally docked and exited the ship.
After a skirmish at the bar with a group of Terrans, Kira, Thor, and Bron were locked up. Fortunately Alaria and Dario bailed them out, but they were all then grabbed by half a dozen soldiers and taken to an interrogation room. To her surprise, Kira faced Admiral Artanis, the man she had wanted to find! Although unable to remove the bounty from their heads, he did have an assignment which would make the Alliance grateful and help their cause. So they headed off to another adventure!
This book has it all – love, suspense, treachery. It’s action-packed and easy to read. The characters are well known from Book 1, as is the driving story line. I definitely recommend this book! It will keep the reader on the edge of the seat to find out what happens next!
This is the second part in a serial. Captain Kira,Thor and their friends are racing to warn Earth about an upcoming attack by the evil admiral when they discover their news is too late. The admiral and his forces have already started a coup on the Terran forces. They still want to notify the good admiral abut their news but with million dollar prices on their heads makes this super hard. I love this story with Kira as a strong unpredictable pilot who is always in trouble. When it comes to romantic relationships, she is at a loss. As she gets closer to Thor, she becomes more uncertain. I also love the supporting characters. This serious keeps getting richer and interesting as it goes on. I can't wait for the next chapter. I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my honest review.
I struggled on what to give the book in stars. I really enjoyed reading this book. There's a lot of action, but also what I liked is the feelings that Kira has to learn and accept. We all struggle with feelings and this shows how hard it can be. I love all the character's in the story, they each bring something to laugh at, get mad, and more. Why I decided to give it a 3 is because some of the stuff just could not happen if they are running and fighting at the same time. Like when they all had fighting suits, that just seems impossible with them going on a junk ship and running from people shooting at them. There's just a few of these type of incidents. I can't wait thou to read the next book in the series. I received an arc copy for my honest review.
I received an ARC edition of this book from the author.
You need to read the first book in the series to really understand the characters and plot, all of the main characters and the background for their mission is introduced in Thor.
This one did a lot for advancing the plot that was set-up in the first book. There is also a lot more of a romance element then there was in the first book (though for me the connection between Kira and Thor feels more like stress induced lust, I'm hoping to see their connection continue to develop in the next book).
Kira is too indecisive and unaware of her surroundings for supposedly being a highly trained military officer. She loses track of the simplest things, while in battle even, and cannot form coherent sentences while under distress. She acts like a hormonal teenager, unable to admit her feelings for Thor nor acknowledge their relationship publicly. She is easily duped until the person's actions are brought out in front of millions and then tries to convince herself she knew something was wrong all along. Many grammatical errors and inconsistencies. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
As an escapist reader, I really enjoyed the story of Kira, Thor and their band of merry havoc mavens!
Redemption is part 2 of a story that begins with Thor, and should be read in order to truly understand the action. It is not the end of the story, rather the end of the episode, so if you don't like having to wait to find out what happens next, like me, you could be frustrated by waiting with bated breath for the next installment.
Can't wait to find out what challenges they encounter next!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Copy of this book. And then bought it. :D
Second book of the series and highly suggest reading book one first. This story has a lot of action and fighting. Kira is the main character of the series. Her and her mismatched group are trying their best to clear their names and protect Earth from an insane human. If h is not stopped the whole human race may be destroyed. Through the story you will watch Kira accept who she has become and her feelings towards Thor, a male she saved from the insane human.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of the book.
You need to read the 1st book before starting Redemption as it continues where the first ended. Thor and Kira's non stop action adventure journey, with danger and twists continues, with a little romance in their relationship where they find a HFN, but we will have to wait to see what the future brings as this one ends with a cliffhanger too. It has me anxiously awaiting the next book. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Another suspenseful and antic-filled journey with the crew of the Curio! - move over Han and Chewie you have competition! So easy to get lost in the story and within the characters - Kira is definitely the perfect Heroine -Cheeky, brass, and ballsy and a whole lot of fun James has made the story so vivid it pops off the pages - you feel like you're battling - or holding on for dear life - right next to the crew Can not wait to see where the next journey takes our crew!
I did not read book 1 but started with Redemption. The story was slow to start but that may be because I did not read book 1. However, with in a few pages I became totally involved with Kira and Thor and their mismatched group . This book is action packed and has various twists and turns. The story ends in a soft cliffhanger which has me eagerly waiting for the next part of this series. Will now go back and read book 1. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Copy of this book.
Excellent book. Great characters and story. It has excitement, fun, suspense, and so much more. She is sent on a mission from the boss who trained her. To escort a prisoner. Well it all goes to hell from there and the adventure begins. I recommend it. I was given a review copy and voluntarily review it.
A fun scifi adventure in novella format; each "book" is very short but enjoyable. There are the stirrings of an overarching epic struggle for the galaxy but the episodic nature makes it a bit difficult to read smoothly unless one has the previous episode just finished/available to reread.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Copy of this book.
The story had a nice steady pace to keep you moving along. Just a right amount of action to keep the story interesting. The characters Kira and Thor help to pull me in to wanting to know more about them. Have to wait and see what the author writes next.
Redemption is the second book in the Far Hope series. It starts where Book One ended and does end in a soft cliffhanger as the story will be continued in the next book. There is violence and sex
The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that info here. The author did a great job of explaining the settings what each side is fighting for..There is a lot of history between characters in the storyline that keep you guessing what twists and turns will be revealed next.
I enjoyed this book and had a hard time putting it down. I received a copy of this book from the author and chose to leave a review for other readers.
The second book in this series is as full of action. The group of mismatched warriors and friends returns to earth with a ship that is limping along and a price on their heads. Kira, Thor, and company are determined to stop Grimm's plans, but what exactly are they?
The crew will meet up with several of Kira's past associates and commanders, and will fight everything from bounty hunters to huge insects. The book ends with the mission still unfinished and plenty of adventures to come.
I was gifted a copy of this book by the author with no requirements. My review is voluntary.
