Musings of an introvert is a collection of short poems and haikus. Haiku is a Japanese poetry writing style and traditionally there are only three lines with total 17 syllables.
Haikus in the book are written on varied topics like nature, birds, life and personal observations. Other 4 sections have short poems on love, women, our world and darkness and desire. The book is a quick read, uncomplicated & not emotionally draining like some poetry books are. I really enjoyed reading the last two sections as they are very relatable with some very meaningful and thought provoking poems!
Sharing a few poems that I liked from the book to conclude my review -
'There is a bit of the devil in all of us. Lurking in the shadows, hidden from all
When Fear is dead or sleeping, the Devil emerges and clutches us in his evil thrall.'
Through the eyes of a a baby- 'Envious of your wondrous gaze I wish I could borrow their innocence All sights unseen, all sounds unheard Birth of a new adventure, an new journey.'
Time - 'I struggle to halt its constant trickle Flying away as I grab at it in vain I feel it ticking away constantly Closer to the end, the end of all my pain.'
