A heart-warming tale about love, friendship, and following one’s heart. The destinies of an unlikely trio converge at the making of a movie.

The eldest Menon daughter and school drama teacher, Neha Menon, must find a way to face the hard times and deal with the loss that threatens to destroy her family.

Prithvi Nair’s production house Priyamvada is his grandfather’s legacy and the reason it’s so close to his heart. But the moment Prithvi tries to reopen the company that has been shut down for decades, it finds itself embroiled in one controversy after another and he can’t seem to get it off the ground.

Aditya Shankaran is a writer-director with big dreams of directing his debut movie but there are no takers for his script. Down on luck, his future looks bleak. There is only one chance to end the troubles that are set at odds with launching his career and winning the hand of the woman he loves.

Prithvi, Aditya and Neha meet under unusual circumstances for the making of a movie that will change their lives in different ways, push them into the world of treachery and deceit, and force them to question their choices.

Time is running out. They must quell the sabotage before the final blow to all their hopes and dreams.

'Priyamvada and co.' is different from the author's previous book 'A Wedding Tamasha' as much as chalk is from cheese.
It deals with love and loss delicately. It takes you through the lives of Neha, Prithvi, Ria, Aditya and also gives us a glimpse into the lives of the characters of Shweta and Niru from book one of the series.
Overall, I felt this book had a better structure and plot. The characters are well etched and believable.
The movie industry and its many issues bring in tension and conflicts in the life of Prithvi, Aditya and Neha.
Recommended for lovers of well-written fiction.

The second book in the Menon Women series by Sudha Nair tackles yet another life event that can test the will of anyone especially a young mother and daughter. Neha takes over from her younger sister, Shweta, as the central protagonist in Priyamvada & Co. along with a whole new set of characters and this time, the story is set in Kerala and Bangalore. Nair whips up a completely different atmosphere that showcases showbiz, bonhomie, love, and grief with ease. She has once again created a story that draws the reader in and keeps them hooked.

Loved the story immensely. The characters have been developed well and are very realistic and relatable. Even the secondary characters have important roles to play in the story, be it Aditya and his friends, Vasu, Thomachan, Vinodini, Daisy, KD or even Ramu. The conversations between the characters have been written in such a way that I felt that they were speaking right in front of me. The scenes have been described in detail and could be easily visualized.

I cried with Neha and Ria and also laughed with them. Ria’s character has been depicted very well, a lost preteen, who does not know what to do. Daisy is sweet. We even see slight glimpses of some characters from The Wedding Tamasha. The book is funny at places and I was laughing when Neha was stalking Prithvi.

I would have loved it if there was some mention of Neha’s brother and also an epilogue.

A must read with a warning, a tissue box should be at hand.

You can’t just kill a character to have a new book written.

Author tried portraying the loneliness of loosing ones partner but failed miserably.

This is not a commonplace romance novel, rather an entertaining and very emotional romantic suspense novel full of ups and downs, twists, and above all, human destinies interwoven in the most curious ways. It’s a story about ties that bind and new ties formed, about lives lost and rediscovered, about new beginnings and self-realization, about tragedies in families and tragedies in movies.

Although there are two captivating, well-fleshed out main characters with Neha and Prithvi, I was just as interested in all the other characters making an appearance. There’s Ria, Neha’s teenage daughter who grapples with the sudden loss of her father. And Aditya, who finds himself depending on way too many people and hoping to win the heart and hand of the woman he loves. The ‘antagonist’ was written very believably too, and though I guessed most of the connections, the book gripped me from beginning to end.

At times heart-wrenching, at other times heart-warming – and at all times vividly colorful and appealing – this tale rivals the epic world of movies it alludes to.

What really comes out of it all is the intertwined lives of all the characters who are related to each other in some or the other way for work or as family connections. But true love is never easy to find.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Sudha Nair has outdone herself with Priyamvada & Co. An excellent read, Realistic characters with just enough drama to coerce the reader into turning the pages without a break, until you are finished reading completely. It was a great story with themes that one can easily identify with. Well developed characters that the reader easily feels a connection to. A refreshing plot. Well done Sudha, cant wait for the next one!

3.5 Stars!

Priyamvada & Co. is the second book in the Menon women series written by Author, Sudha Nair and honestly, I found this book way more better than the previous one. In fact, this book has a very authentic and rustic feel to it and I was hooked from the very beginning. In some ways, this book is so much more about love, friendship, loss and second chances.

The book basically follows three main characters, Prithvi, an upcoming producer who is struggling to establish his grandfather’s movie production company, Priyamvada to its former glory. Aditya, a young director with dreams and aspiration of his own and Neha, Shweta’s sister from the previous novel, who is going through some of her own personal struggle due to an unexpected tragedy in her life. The lives of these three people intersect by what can only be called as co-incidence and together they work towards a common goal i.e. to make a movie which, will change all their lives forever.

Reading wise this book is effortless, Nair’s writing as always is neat, lucid and engaging. The characters of this book are very well fleshed out as compared to her previous book “The Wedding Tamasha”. I feel this book is a testament of how much Sudha has grown as a writer. The three main characters, Prithvi, Neha and Aditya along with all the other supporting characters makes an extremely endearing cast which somewhat compensated for the predictability of the plot. Their nuances and simplicity won my heart and made me care for them. however, the best thing about this book I feel is it’s setting.

Most of the story is set in rural Kerala and I can’t stress enough, how much I loved the setting. It sure was a breath of fresh air. I really enjoyed the bickering and playful dynamic between Aditya and his friends, the seriousness and ingenuity of Prithvi and Neha as well as the amusing character of Thomachand, who I particularly thought is a one of his kind. I adored the importance of different relationship depicted through the story be it the relationship between mother and their children or between sisters, it was done with extreme perfection. I also loved the progression and slow build-up of Prithvi and Neha’s relationship and I absolutely loved How much Prithvi cared about Neha’s daughter, Ria. Something really sad happens with Neha in the beginning of the book and I liked how strong and resilient she was even in her grief.

That being said, I do feel that this story could have benefitted if there was a little more showing than telling but nevertheless, it didn’t really bother me much because the plot in itself is highly entertaining. Honestly, for the better part this was a four-star read for me but it got a little overly dramatic towards the end so I am a little bit disappointed. On the side note though, I absolutely loved the ending, it felt realistic and honest.

Overall, pick up this book if you are looking for a heart-warming weekend read which will also give you hope and which will make you believe that life is filled with ups and down but if you have enough courage, it’s never too late to turn the tide.

Captivating, Heart-warming and Riveting!

I became a fan of Sudha Nair last year when I started reading her books. Priyamvada and Co is the 2nd Book in the Menon Series. Actually, I had started reading this book during Lockdown 1 and finished it only half way. During this year's lockdown, I had to read from the beginning to refresh my memory. Nevertheless, as I started reading page by page, I was able to recall what I had read. The book starts off with Neha losing someone she truly loves. It shows how she gets through her grief along with her daughter Ria. Once you start reading this book, you will fall in love with the characters. Out of the blue, one of the main characters, Prithvi Nair enters and at first you will find him very arrogant and mean. As the story progresses, you will want to know more about him. He may be a billionaire, but his character is anything but that. When the chemistry between Prithvi and Neha starts to emerge, you will feel so warm and special. Neha acts in one of Prithvi's movies and litle did we think how that would be a turning point in the book. I am sure there are many Prithvi Nair's in the world. Loved this book so much and I am looking forward to reading more of Sudha Nair's books.

The first book of the Menon sisters was 'The Wedding Tamasha'. The story revolved around Shweta and Niru.

The part 2 of the Menon sisters is this book.
Remember Neha? Shweta's sister?
Now this story is all about Neha and Prithvi.
.
Neha, a school drama teacher and wife of Mohan, who was a famous doctor.
.
Prithvi has come back from abroad to carry on his grandfather's legacy of the production house called 'Piryamvada & Co.' which was shut down years ago and suspected to be jinxed.
.
How did these two meet? What was their connection? For this, you got to read the book.
.
This book stirred emotions of failure, loss, heartbreak, love, parenthood, and so much more.
.
To enjoy the flow of the story read all the three books in the order.
Book1: The Wedding Tamasha
Book 2: Priyamvada & Co.
Book 3: About that Summer

Had bought this book a while ago as I had read Wedding Tamasha, the first book in the series - but didnt get to read this (due to life lol).

This is another one of the books which are of my vibe - I get sucked into them instantaneously.

Got hooked on the vibe of new beginnings rather than the relationship part of the book which took me by surprise - was really able to connect with Neha and Prithvi - I mean what they are going through has been life changing definitely, but they are taking steps forwards to keep going, whih gives me inspiration.

All in all, an easy read, loved the book - the third book About that Summer is definitely on my to be read list.

I couldn't get myself to finish this one. I really tried. The premise was so interesting that i decided to read expecting it to be a great entertainer full of twists, turns and lots of drama. But unfortunately the story takes forever to begin! and even then, quickly gets predictable. Sorry but i really tried. Great effort though.

I started reading this book on kindle unlimited while waiting for my workplace to be opened in the morning. Although the story was very predictable from the beginning, it was a an engaging read. These days I love these light hearted romance novels which make me feel good. After all , that is what one needs when one is blasted by one's superiors day in and day out.
Thank you, Sudha!

OMG why did you kill mohan 😞
Couldn’t shake myself out when I read the first chapter, I was still reeling fresh with warm vibes of neha, mohan and ria with shweta in the first novel!! It was hard for me to digest!!
But then love how the story progressed, pulling
neha our of her sorrow slowly and the emotions that came along that path of self recovery!! Splendid!!
Daisy is such a sweet heart!! ❤️
Great job!
Beautiful read, anyone can relate with the storyline and connect easily with it!
