Aided by a brilliant Caribbean beauty, Jake Scarne quickly exposes a lottery scam in a troubled island paradise.
Case closed and big payday? Not quite!
Scarne has aroused the wrath of corrupt politicians, a murderous Colombian drug cartel -- and a shadowy American financier. He is soon caught in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse that costs the life of a friend.
But as Scarne seeks revenge, the line between friend and foe blurs.
You cannot go wrong reading a Lawrence de Maria book. He is high up on my favorite authors list.
I love Jake Scarne. He’s a smart-ass and a bad-ass for starters. I laughed out loud several times reading this book . There were some very tense moments, good food, good alcohol, good sex, good friends, good action, and really, really bad bad guys. Bad enough to make my skin crawl.
At times, he was reading books about other de Maria characters, which I thought was kind of cute.
