In the highly anticipated follow-up to #She, two years have passed since Maya and Taylor ended their summer love affair. They are both living two different lives, with Maya living her dream as an emerging superstar and Taylor working for a design and marketing firm in New York City.
While Maya is living single and enjoying the celebrity lifestyle, Taylor is in a new relationship with a co-worker and all is right with the world. However, when professional circumstances force them back into each other’s lives, they are forced to come face to face with the demons they attempted to bury long ago. Confusion leads to a whirlwind of dishonesty, betrayal, mistrust and the feelings of shame that come along with all of those things.
When their two worlds collide once more, there is no shortage of heartache, frustration, joy and pain. Follow Maya and Taylor on a journey from both of their points of view as they come to terms with their feelings and finally decide whether they should be together or part ways for good.
We get to dive back into the lives of Maya, Taylor, Keva and Shaq. Each of their careers have taken off in new directions. Maya's and Taylor's career paths cross and as usual drama is not too far behind their reunion. I found myself hoping that each of them had grown and would be able to handle themselves better than they had in She (wishful thinking, but makes for a great read). That unmistakable bond is there and is a force to be reckoned with. Taylor is in a committed relationship, but it begins to disintegrate as soon as Maya is back in the picture. Taylor has to stop putting bandaids on the pain and deal with it in order to fully heal from the past. Can she figure this out before her life blows up? Maya has never gotten over Taylor and seeing her again with her new girlfriend has her questioning whether or not it's time to move on. That magnetic pull keeps her from making good decisions. These two just can't seem to figure it out! Take a ride on this emotional rollercoaster as these two get to figure out this thing called love. You get angry at the crazy mistakes each of them make, but you still route for them to end up together. You definitely need to read #She before you read #Shame. It's just a guess, but I can't wait for #Revenge.
Erica has done it again, this is a great follow up to #She. She pulls us back into the lives of Taylor and Maya, their rollercoaster love story will have your head spinning and yearning for more. It’s also a very setup for book three. This will not be a disappointing read at all. Great job, I look forward to next book in this series.
I really liked this book but the only reason I gave it 4 stars I stead of 5 is because these women were getting on my nerves. I got to the point that I was NOT rooting for them to be together. I was not feeling how they always hurt other because the wanna bs. If you want each other be with each other.
I love these books! Erica Muhammad did a fantastic job with the characters storyline and I could not put the book down!!! Go read #she and #shame! You will not regret it!!!! I hope to read a lot more from this author!! Got me reading til 3 in the morning!!!
I truly love this story. I find it remarkable in many ways, the character structure, reality, intensity and relatability. Great read. I’m happy to have experienced it, can’t wait for part 3.
