This should have been a five star read. Dark Cybertron was fantastic, and I loved every bit of it. The character arcs coming to completion, the payout of all the Shockwave related lore finally happening, and the (hopefully) finale of the major battles happening on Cybertron. That was 5 stars. What was NOT five stars however, was whatever was happening in the Windblade spotlight.

To make a long story short, I do think it’s important to introduce and keep female characters in the main cast of the story. However, I don’t think it should be done just so that we can bring back the same gross female being objectified by men trope back. They’re robots for gods sake. There should be no reason for what looks like the transformer equivalent of sexual harassment???The writers wouldn’t make Starscream shove idk METALHAWK up against a wall and touch on his waist would he?? NO! So why is Windblade treated so differently??? I think we all know why.

Chromia is the only redeemable character in this story. I enjoyed Windblades’ role in the main narrative. This is nothing against her, merely the quality of the writing.

The Dark Cybertron story-arc is great Finally figue out how shockwave seems so separte from the rest of teh 'cons....and DJD is awesome(tho i think thats in #7 and #4 )
Plus haven't gotten Phase2 #1,3,5

THe R.I.D graphics is ok the MTMTE ones are better. THe ironhide story was good too

It was great seeing all the different storylines coming together and having everybody join together. It feels like things have only just started and as ever... I can't wait to continue onwards!

This series continues to amaze me. It is worlds away from the 1980s Transformers comics, telling fully realized stories with characters that have fleshed out personalities.

Okay after getting through Shockwave's midlife crisis AKA the 'Dark Cybertron' story arc, I'm going to gush about just how much of a breath of fresh air the Windblade comic felt like - more prominently, its use of colours.

I absolutely love love LOVE the use of colour in the Windblade comic. The emphasis is placed on colour from the very start with the city speaking, and the entire comic takes this concept and runs with it. All the bar scenes were warm and comfy colours, giving you this real cozy atmosphere. Then whenever Starscream comes into the picture, the world goes cold coloured with blues and whites. The world was basically white on grey minus the character colours as Windblade and Chromia were flying/driving away from Starscream, then in the panels of them heading towards Ironhide the white slowly becomes a very soft orange. The violence scenes are enhanced by the reds and deep burnt orange colours with whites to highlight the movement and the entire thing makes for a very atmospheric experience.

The Dark Cybertron sory line arrives. I'm actually surprised this wasn't the start of the third phase of TRansformers IDW comics. The long plot of Shockwave and his associates results in the casts of Robots in Disguise and More than Meets the Eye coming together to face the threat. It all ends with an incredible moment in Transformers history which fans are still talking about today.
