Gillian Locke has been beaten, battered, and bruised, but her ex-boyfriend still hasn’t managed to break her. When she left Kyle for the last time, she knew the only way she’d ever be back in his grasp is over her dead body. When her car breaks down at the top of a mountain in the middle of a snowstorm, she thinks nature will take care of her death for him. On the run, the last thing she expects is to be offered shelter by three gorgeous men who can’t seem to get enough of her.
The Bearclaw brothers are descendants of the ancient Anikota tribe of Indians. Their beast spirit and blessing from the Maker allows them the ability to sense the one who would complete their soul. Being triplets, they always expected their mate to be one woman they’d share. With the Maker’s blessing, they’ll be able to ease past Gillian’s defenses before her past threatens to end their future.
Molten Silver: m/m/m/f sexin'. The men are brothers, so there's no lovin' between them, but plenty showered on the heroine. Violence against the heroine from the bad guy. And did I mention hot m/m/m/f sexin?
The potenial was there, but this just missed the mark for me. I am happy to suspend belief for stories of this kind, but it was too short to support the story line. The heroine overcame a lot in a VERY short time...too quickly and too easily. It was implied that Ronan had suffered some sort of personal tragedy that was never explained. I kept waiting for it to be revealed, but it remained a mystery. Why did the author name the bad guy Kyle (her last name)? I didn't get Kyle at all. What motivated him? What relationship did he have with the heroine? Despite all this, I enjoyed the story and read it in one sitting. Celia Kyle is an author I will be happy to try again.
(Shrug) the heroes did a pretty idiotic thing that sort of tortured the heroine with terror towards the end. Their actions were in direct opposition to advice from their mother. Kind of ruined it for me.
I kept hoping the heroine would grab an iron skillet and bash each of them in the head with it to even things out.
Gillian Locke knows her days are numbered, as she tries once again to get away from her abusive ex-boyfriend. Beaten and trekking through the snowy mountains leads her to a cabin where she does not immediately see the owners.
The Bearclaw triplets know the moment they walk in the cabin that someone is sleeping in their bed, and what is stranger to them it happens to be their mate. When they realize she has been brutally beaten, it will take all their restraint to win her affection and protect her forever.
I thought this was an fascinating read, I wish it had been a bit longer though.
After reading this book twice now I know I needed to put a review. I'm a fan of books like this where the woman really pushes through and in the end she finds her HEA
I liked this for as much as it was. I didn't have a particular problem with the heroine falling in bed with the heroes so soon. Somehow that worked okay for me. There was a lot missing though. We never really know much about her relationship with the bad guy. Were they married or just together or what? And how long etc. What was Ronan's big tragedy? I really couldn't believe that the big fight scene I was expecting when the heroes save her from the bad guy was totally off screen. That was a total WTF? moment. The story would have been much stronger if it was included. Also having the mother show up and explain the whole 3 mates thing instead of the heroes doing the explaining was a weak choice also. All main action should happen on the page and should be between the hero(es) and the heroine. And not actually meeting the men known as Pop Dad and Father or even knowing their names added to the weakness. I know it was a short story but it still should be interesting and tight.
3 Stars ~ Gillian is a young woman on the run from her abusive ex-boyfriend when her car breaks down in the middle of nowhere during a snowstorm. The Bearclaw brothers rescue her and immediately recognize her as their mate. Gillian's shocked by her own reaction to the three brothers, she should be terrifed of the big men but finds herself attracted to all three. This was a fun quick read.
This was a blind download so I had no idea it was a shifter. I don’t care for them but this wasn’t bad. I liked how sweet they were to her but they were a little too hot headed around her. They knew she was scared of fighting yet they keep going at it. The way they revealed themselves was downright awful. I wanted to know more information about them. Like, what did they do for work? What was she going to do? What did she do before, where is her family? We got no background information. I kind of wanted her to leave just to break things up.
Gillian had been beaten and her attacker was following her, when her car broke down leaving her stranded in the snow. What follows next will keep you on the edge of your seat. 5 Stars are never enough for an author that writes like Celia Kyle does when writing about alphas and their mates. I couldn't put this down and definitely recommend the author as well as the book.
The storyline was all over the place, the relation ship between Kyle and Gillian could have been more detailed, what did the brothers do for a living. The book started in the middle with no filling!
Enjoyable enough story. Just a bit off in places but I did laugh at how stupid the three brothers were when they finally let Gillian know about their shifter side. Talk about show not tell. Sex scenes were long due to having four participants. Read through Kindle Unlimited.
This is my 2nd time reading this novel. When I first read it I was surprised at how much I like single woman with multiple men. I’ve been hooked on reverse harem ever since.
Two things attracted me to this book, the cover and the fact that this was another “goldilocks and the three bears” sort of story and I am always eager to see how authors put their own spin on this aged plot.
Despite the cover image this is a multiple ménage book and a quick romp that was over before it made an impact. Gillian is in need of shelter and comes upon the expected empty cabin in the woods with three bedrooms…
Need I go any further… it reads like the tale up to a certain point.
The three men in question are bear shifters and other than some very well flesh out personality traits, they were average guys, they care for the environment, had little to do with the outside world and were very close to their parents.
The crust of this book revolved around the hastily developed relationship between these four. I say hasty because within a few hours they were getting their groove on and before long the language is such, it’s as if there being together was a done deal minus one big secret..
If you don’t particularly like light reading material give it a miss as you will have multiple issues with this one, for me this was a quick break and sometimes I just need that. I did like the remote setting and the fact that the brother’s personality were so different to the point of knowing who would getting shifty about the dirty floor mat.
BATTERED NOT BROKEN had some legs, as in it had moments of hilarity, some great scenes showing the dynamics between the brothers and just enough info about the Anikota tribe of Indians to make me really curious.
This shit crap was the most awful shit crap I have ever had the misfortune of reading (well other than the twilight series). Thank GOD I got a copy from a friend, but it's deleted now). WTH? Someone recommended this over @ the Amazon discussion boards for 'Native American literature' obviously this individual needs a boot up the ass behind. Was this a script for a porno movie? The description should read, more random oral sex and orifice filling than you can shake a stick at! (<=if you felt so inclined to shake a stick at it).
What didn't I like? do you ask? What was there to like, is my reply. Chick runs away from her abusive boyfriend and like a day later is making out with triplets in the middle of no where. Why even make the reader wait like 10 pages or so, Ms Kyle. Same day she wakes up (well later that night) she ends up making out with one of the brothers. The following day, another one of the brothers gives her oral immediately after learning her last name.

Is it bad that it took me this long to figure out the Goldilocks thing? I guess I was looking forward to a nice fun, smutty read and wasn't looking for any deeper meaning or reference.
Gillian is on the run from her abusive ex-boyfriend. After her car breaks down, she is forced to hike through the snow for miles, heading towards the only house she can see. After she passes out in a bed, fighting off frostbite, the three bear shifters come home to find a strange woman in their alpha brother's bed. Turns out, this clan of bear shifters has a history of having all the twins/triplets/etc bonding with one mate. The brothers immediately identify Gillian as such a mate and proceed to "woo" her.
The chemistry between all the brothers and Gillian was pretty good and there were oodles of sexy scenes to keep a smut fan happy. Of course, you can expect the ex to show up and force the brothers to protect their mate. I'm never disappointed with the fun, quick reads from this author.
This story is action packed with fun and loving characters. Finding not one but three mates is not what Gillian was expecting to find. She needed help and the Bearclaw brothers were happy to help her.
She needs them. They need to help her heal and let her know that she's safe with them. Her happiness is their priority. They make her laugh, play and are very understanding. They let her experience fun and love something she's been missing for a long time.
This story is short but full of emotions. You have extreme situations and the author always gives you different ways of facing them. This story will have you loving bears and wanting the Bearclaw brothers for yourself.
This book started off really good for me with so much potential, but then about halfway through things started to change and I wasn't even sure the same person that started writing this was the same one that finished it. All I can say is that it basically turned into a trashy smutty read using immature language which completely spoilt the whole book. The opportunity to introduce some action when the bad guy came along was completely skipped over and you never found out what he was all about. The title is good, the cover is good but the story just lost it. One to put at the bottom of the pile I suppose.
A beautiful curvy woman runs from her abusive boyfriend. Covered in bruises and stuck in a freezing snow storm, her car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. She treks miles to a cabin. Her ability to continue on is admirable to me; many women would have given up. I think I would have. That is one reason I love Celia Kyle books. Her heroines persevere under great odds. It shows the rest of us there can be great rewards if we don't give up. And Celia delivers some of the most hunkalicious rewards I have ever read. There is so much more to the storyline but you will have to read the book to find out what happens. Enjoy.
