The first installment of the Tomas O’Malley Mystery series.

Long-time Chicago homicide detective has been working the case of a missing girl with little success. Now, her father has been found executed and a serial killer is leaving a trail of female bodies across the city. Are all these cases related? Who could be behind such a wide spread epidemic of organized crime. As the case unwinds and more bodies stack up, O’Malley must choose between what his gut is telling him, and what the case is being designed to show.

Will O’Malley find the killer, or is the killer leading the detective to a deadly frame-up of a young man in over his head? The missing girl may hold the answer, if only she could be found.

Never Been Found is a murder mystery and book one in the Tomas O’Malley thriller series. You can find both book 1 and 2 on Kindle unlimited. This was my first time reading anything by this author.

O’Malley is a Long-time Chicago homicide detective who has been working the case of a missing girl . However he has had no luck. Now the girls father has been found executed and a serial killer is on the loose killing females all across the city.

This was a great mystery that can be read in a couple hours. The descriptive writing made it easy to picture the scenes. The Characters are fleshed out very well and the plot is well constructed. I did find several editing errors which was a little annoying.

All I'm all the story is well written and a great start to a new series.

Many thanks to the Publisher , the Author , and NetGalley for a ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first book in the Thomas O'Malley series. It follows O'Malley as the main detective who is charged with solving the murder of a man whose daughter is missing, presumed dead.

What circumstances led to this father’s involvement in the case of his missing daughter? With a serial killer leaving a trail of female bodies throughout the city, could both cases be linked? How deep are these cases tied to organized crime? As the case unwinds, the final solution takes O’Malley through personal and professional losses that could not be prevented. Will O’Malley find the killer, or is the killer leading the detective to a deadly frame-up of a young man who simply got in over his head? The missing girl may hold the answer, if she could only be found.

This is a gritty novel with lots of characters for you to become involved with and follow throughout. I'm not a huge fan of detective fiction and this one was one of the better books I've read. I prefer a good thriller. It offered an interesting take on police procedures.

I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

An intense story about a Chicago detective who is helping a family try to find their missing daughter. He teams up with his former partner who is working on a case about who is killing prostitutes. They think the two cases may be related and then the father of the missing girl is murder. The son is a star college basketball player and he returns home and wants to help in the investigation but just complicates things. His high school buddy is mixed up with some sleazy mob guys who have strip clubs and run hookers.
A very gritty story showcasing some very violent lowlifes who do not care about anything but themselves. The cops know who is committing some of the crimes but can't get evidence on them. It shows how dedicated some cops are and the good and bad they face on the job and at home. Had some great characters. Very well developed. Good descriptions of scenes and actions. Characters show lots of emotions and discussions on moral conflicts.
Received this book from Goodreads.com Giveaways for an unbiased review. Really enjoyed the book and look forward to the next one in the series.

This is the first book in the series about Thomas O'Malley. A detective based in Chicago, he is working on the case of a missing girl. The case gets more complicated when the missing girl's father is found murdered. A gritty novel with lots of characters and mentions of basketball. This book grips your attention all the way to the end.
A well written book with glimpses of American police procedures.

4 1/2⭐️’s I really don’t know why this book has not been read by more people. It was a good story about cops trying to take down two evil men. I liked the pace of the story and all the various characters, especially Thomas and Franky. There was drama, mystery, a little romance and even some moments that made you laugh or smile. I liked too, how it tried to follow police procedures. Even, to the point that we wish it didn’t and we were back in the wild, wild west. I will read the second book in the series.

Excellent first book in the series. I read all his fantasy books and loved them so I thought I would give this a try - kept me involved turning pages, several twists and character development, and solid ending. You never know how each storyline relates until they all come together.

Can't wait for the next one in the series.

I really liked this book, it is a police procedural book. It was very intense at times and sad, with a little humor. It was devastating for several families. There was painful episodes for almost all involved. There was excitement and the characters were well written. I cared about some and felt like I knew them and there were also characters I didn't like.

I don’t usually read detective books. Because I find then a little heavy handed and a the writing style doesn’t usually work for me. This book however was a little bit better. I think it was the thriller element that got me. I did enjoy it. But I’m still not sure that this genre is for me.

Could not Finish

The writing in this book was so stilted that it took away from the story. I got to 24% of the book and just gave up. Don't know how it got so many good reviews.
