Canberra political journalist Paul Ryder is unemployed again and forced to ghostwrite the memoirs of sports stars. When a car bomb kills a Federal Senator, he jumps back into the game and hunts for glory. But will his by-line end up on a scoop or a tombstone? An Australian political thriller laced with laconic humour.
Peter Menadue was a non-award winning print journalist before studying law at Sydney University and Oxford University. For the last twenty years he has practiced as a barrister in Sydney, Australia. He also writes courtroom novels under the pseudonym "Mark Dryden"
Paul Ryder, ex journalist and job seeker, is dragged into investigating the death of a Senator by the Defence Minister. It seems a simple task for the trouble making ex-journalist, but when you find you are up against international corporations things aren't really that simple. They become down right dangerous.
I enjoyed this read as it's gets to the point and doesn't meander but still has plot twists.
