The boys are back! Tony Shepherd's relaxing Summer at the lake with his family crashes to a halt when Charlie Wolfe arrives at the cabin after a local man goes missing.
Nothing is ever simple when Charlie's around and soon the boys are caught in a dark tangle of violence and danger. If they are not careful, their search could bring more harm to more than just themselves.
Angie teaches by day, and writes film scripts and fiction the rest of the time. When she’s not teaching or writing, she’s packing a bag for another adventure, completing a goal list, playing with her camera or practising yoga.
When Charlie Wolfe unexpectedly shows up at Anthony Shepherd's vacation home, you know there's bound to be a mystery right around the corner. Is Charlie just looking for some time off? Did he just miss hanging out with Tony? Or is he more interested in the strange disappearance of one of the locals?
What caught my interest with the first book in the series—and made me want to carry on with book two—is that it reminded me a lot of the Hardy Boys. I absolutely LOVED reading the Hardy Boys when I was younger, and I have very fond memories of those books (come to think of it, they might have been some of my first). So naturally, I'm very excited to read something that takes me back to that same kind of feeling.
But that's probably where the similarities end. I feel like pointing out that these books are much darker than any Hardy Boys I ever read! Don't underestimate them and think that just because it's about a couple of teenage boys that they're pulling any punches. The pace is fast, the plot is thick, and the mysteries are chilling. Oh, and the characters are fantastic.
And this book is definitely going to make you carry on with the series—believe me!
If you're looking for a thrilling mystery novel that's going to pull you much farther in than you think, this is it. Highly recommended.
Canadian, so that's nice. Familiar Saskatchewan settings. I found it relatable. Definitely Y/A, simple writing, but page-turner. Great vacation read for anyone. The 2nd book in the series. Thriller! Creeped me out reading it on the dark plane. It's set in the summer at a Saskatchewan lake. Very very very suspenseful and haunting.
Another page turner by Counios & Gane. The second book in the Shepherd & Wolfe Mystery. Really, outstanding writing. Fast paced, funny at the right times keeps (laugh out loud bits) keeps the reader grounded, fantastic characters and details.
This is actually book #2 in the series. Enjoyed this book more than book #1. (Along came a Wolfe) Awaiting the next book as the ending leaves it open for another book in the series.
My favourite book in the series! It has twists and turns around every corner. You never want to put this down, and the ending will leave you slack jawed like "Whaaaaat!?".
I loved the first one, and this one was even better! If you thought the Along Came a Wolfe was creepy - this one is scary! I was holding my breath and cringing during the suspensful scenes! A very different setting and story from the first book (which was set in a city), but the same great, realistic main characters and their unique interactions.
