Damien
The toughest part about trying to keep my hands off Alejandra is knowing that I’m doing business with her father, the head of the local cartel.
Both of our families would kill me if they knew what was going on between us.
She’s so intoxicating though, I just can’t get her out of my mind.
I keep telling myself that there’s too much on the line.
Who am I kidding…I’ll never let her go.

Alejandra
I don’t know what it is about Damien that draws me in.
I’ve been around these strong, tattooed gangsters my whole life.
Just a bunch of alpha males, always flashing their huge piles of cash around constantly trying to show each other up.
But there’s something different about him.
He’s such a sexy man that doesn’t take shit from anyone and treats me like his queen.
That’s all I’ve ever wanted, but now Papa has promised my hand to another man that I don’t even know.
Well, now I’m pregnant, with Damien’s baby.
What the hell am I going to do now?
This can’t possibly end well.

Damien is a stand-alone book in the Volkov Mafia series. A healthy dose of steam with a guaranteed HEA.

Another exciting story about the Volkov cartel in Barcelona, Spain. Damien is an interesting character. Through and through all business and then all play. Arrogant and rude he met Alejandra, his contact's daughter. Ignasi was a high ranking member of the Audaz, the rival group to the Volkovs. Ignasi was brokering a sale of property to Damien. When Damien became involved with Alejandra, neither Ignasi, Alejandra's father nor Damien's Uncle Evgeni were happy about it. I felt there could have been more to the story. What happened to her betrothal to Franco and did he want revenge on Damien for taking his bride. What of Ignasi and Evgeni, would they ever consider a tentative truce between them. Even though Ignasi told Alejandra that he would cut her off and disown her if she had this baby, and yet he was to have dinner with her and Damien. Alejandra had moved in with Damien at this point of the story. It eluded that Damien may have cut his ties to the Volkov cartel. Then if Ignasi was so feared, how was he able to let "bygones be bygones" with Damien, with the caveat that Damien would no longer be doing any espionage or plotting in the future? I just have so many questions unanswered even though I loved reading this book. The chemistry and passion between Damien and Alejandra was a steamy hot level five. I just wished there was more to this story.

I read this book as part of an arc program. This is the fifth book in The Volkov's series about Russian mobsters in Spain. In this book, Damien is sent to Barcelona after crossing the family back in Moscow. Damien has been sent to help with the family's real estate businesses and he is also secretly dealing with a member of the rival Audaz family. When Damien sees the daughter of the Audaz family member, Ignasi, he is attracted to Alejandra, but he knows he cannot chance acting on it. Alejandra works for her father by carrying packages for the family and she is also promised to be wed to a member of rival gang. Alejandra thinks Damien is hot, but a jerk. When Damien continues to flirt with her and they meet again at a club, Damien thinks he can see her in secret for one night. Eventually Alejandra thinks she can see Damien without any strings and without anyone finding out. After Damien and Alejandra have their night, they part ways, but things have a way of getting dangerous when secrets come to light. I enjoy this series. This is another good book. It was a quick and steamy read. I liked Damien, I think he really didn't want to be involved with the family, he also didn't want a relationship, but he couldn't deny there was something about Alejandra. Another good one.

HEY ALL YOU THE THRILL SEEKERS!!!
I can say one thing for Ms. Bloom, she stays consistent with her hits. You have another action packed, fast paced, heart pounding rollercoaster thrill ride with this baby. With a full range of emotions that will keep you captivated and frozen to your seat. All the adrenaline pumping, pulse racing excitement to hold your attention throughout. The characters were intriguing and complex with a connection that is definitely undeniable. Talk about making sparks fly. You have your nailbiting, tension tightening, nerve racking moments that you find yourself holding your breath. The scenes were so vividly detailed and descriptive that this world comes alive before your eyes. Remarkable job Ms. Bloom. Thank you for sharing this little gem with us.

If I could, I would give it 3 and a half stars. I liked the story, but I liked the rest of the series better. Damien is a Russian monster in Spain making deals for his mob family to atone for the huge head-to-mess- up he made in Russia. One deal he is making with a rival Spanish mob. He meets Alejandra, daughter of a mob boss. The two are attracted to each other. I liked Damien and Alejandra and most of the plot. Without giving away much, I found some of the things they did to be extremely stupid. I found some parts too much to accept. Overall, I found it an enjoyable read and addition to the series.

This is a intriguing book and I really enjoyed reading it. This book is about the "Volkov Mafia" and the taboo relationship between two people (Damien & Alejandra) Although it is a short quick read it it has: drama, intrigue, twists & turns, some action, attraction, espionage, betrayal, forgiveness, lust, passion and love. The story-line and plot is impressive and well-written, the characters are well-developed and realistic with their emotions. I would recommend this book.

I really wish these books were longer. This book is consistent like the others that I have read. This books follows the story of Damien, sent to Barcelona because of a deal that went really wrong back in Russia that may have cost him his life. Sent to Barcelona to follow through on a lucrative deal, he meets Alejandra....and it all goes from there.

Although this one is short, it still had me hooked until the very last page. It's thrilling, it's got mystery, romance and all with twists and turns that will make you want to reach the end so you know what happens. Really great read.

When things go wrong in Moscow, Damien is sent to Barcelona to Uncle Evigeni. Damien being the man he is, likes to play on the edge and doing so is working with the enemy doing business. He meets Alejandra whose father is a powerful member of the Audaz, a local Catalan gang. Their chemistry is explosive, but he knows nothing can come of it because that is a death sentence and on top of it, she is promised to another man. Will they find a way to work out a plan that includes a happily ever after for them? I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

3.5 stars Short Mafia Romance. This book is a standalone book in the Volkov Mafia Series. This is the story of Damien and Alejandra. This story is fast-paced, filled with drama, action and steamy scenes. The story ends with a HEA. Unfortunately, the story was rushed at the end and the conclusion was somehow unbelievable. Another fantastic Bad Boy Mafia book. If you haven't found out the big secret that most readers already know about, Ava Bloom writes these bad boys better than everyone else. Damien is finding out that he may have messed up one time too many within the Volkov family. He arrives in Barcelona after being given "one last chance" when he meets Alejandra and they quickly start a hot but ill planned tryst. Alejandra is promised to another who will strengthen the Audaz family ties but things do not turn out as everyone plans. There are some twists and turn that kept me on the edge of my seat wondering if everything will end up with an happily ever after. Do yourself a favor and get this book.

I was luckily given an ARC in exchange for an honest and totally voluntary review.
