PERSEPHONE When I first met Marc, I knew there was something about him. Hot, strong, and able to form a coherent sentence? Of course there had to be a catch. I only had to get kidnapped to find out what it was. He's a thief. He's a convict. He lied and betrayed me and robbed the very place I call home. So why do I want him so much?
MARC When you're an escaped convict, you don't settle down. Always running, always on the move. Taking Persephone was the worst mistake I made—and the best decision of my life. She's different from the others. She has brains. She fights back. She isn't afraid to take what she wants and spit in your face when you tell her no. I just hope she'll forgive me for what I have to do.
Stealing Away is a full-length, standalone, bad boy romance novel. It contains swearing, violence, hot sex, no cheating, and a Happily Ever After (HEA) ending.
Harley Fox grew up in a tough neighborhood. It's the kind of place where you get to know a certain type of man -- the bad boy, the biker, the alpha male. The type that you know is wrong for you, but that feels so right.
Today she writes novels about those bad boys and the complex lives they lead. Her strong female characters are based off the women she knew growing up. Harley is happily married to her own bad boy, and together they're raising an adorable little girl.

I enjoyed this story. I kind of felt like I was watching an adventure movie. The plot involving the stealing of antiquities is good, the characters interesting. I'm used to the mmc being a more dominant personality and the fact that Marc was more what I consider to be beta as opposed to alpha made this a refreshing change of pace. Marc and Persephone have genuine chemistry and while the book has some mildly steamy love scenes, they are not a major focus of the story. All in all, this book was a very good read.
I am voluntarily reviewing an advance reader copy of this book.
*sigh* I wanted to like this one, but it just wasn't my cup. Persephone kind of bothered me for some reason. Love her name, though! I didn't really feel a connection to Marc. Again, just couldn't really get into them/the story.
I will say that there were twists that were interesting & the overall premise was entertaining. And I enjoyed how the ending played out with one exception. : )
Marc is a hot, strong thief and an on the run convict casing another job at a museum when he meets Persephone, she works there. That night they go to do the job and hit a problem Persephone was working late and went for a wander before leaving but she ends up getting kidnapped by the gang. This is a great read with some humour amongst the characters.
